The put clan toriador behind a 30 dollar day 1 DLC :story:
At this point Paradox has to be sabotaging this project on purpose, maybe to cut the chucklefucks making this travesty from obtaining some bonus based on sales.

I refuse to believe anyone is arrogant enough to believe this trainwreck has any chance of making a profit.

Watching the RadBrad video:

I hate Phyre's voice, and how much auto dialogue is here.

Phyre gets questioned about her history and only has three very shallow options that give you no indication of what she's going to say about something that would be important to your roleplaying experience ('I'm a Traveller/Warrior/Survivor'). It also just makes Phyre sound like a twat off the bat. "I've heard a lot of rumours about you. What are you?" "Wherever I go, disaster follows. When I war, it is against misfortune. If anything, I am a survivor!" "...That doesn't really answer the question.".

The follow up question is 'What do you think is most dangerous?' with all the answers being some flavour of evil people ('Ideals that demand blood', 'Mortals that hate', and 'Mortals who fight for power'), so it seems that Phyre isn't gonna get much of an evil route. This is very much gonna be a 'The worst you can do is be kind of aggressive with people'.

Someone compared Phyre's state of backstory to Kotor2 where you get opportunities to mould it through multiple discussions throughout the game. And that's one of the things that made Kotor2 so good in defining your player character. However, unlike Kotor2, this game has a voiced protagonist who is limited to three responses. Plus, the Exile's participation in the Mandalorian Wars is the foundation of the entire story (Kotor 2's story is basically a spiritual quest of self reflection exploring the effects of the Mandalorian Wars), Phyre's backstory is more built up as just to explain why she's important.

It's weird that hair colours are their own seperate hair slots.

Guy in the gameplay I'm watching is in a stealth section, he pulls a guy to him with telekinesis but dips. Somehow the guard is still not alerted.

Phyre finds out that Fabien was the one who woke her up and that she instantly ate him. Your three responses to this revelation is "Sorry", "Sorry" and "Well, shit happens." and Fabien doesn't really care.

Fabien can't allow you to go a full minute without someone yapping.

Goes without saying that none of the character have an inkling of personality compared to even the worst characters in the first game.

I am not a fan of how everyone seems to be kissing the Player's ass.

The Prince's va is giving me Megan Fox in Mortal Kombat vibes. I miss LaCroix already.

Prince stresses how weak she'll look if she pardons you for violating the masquerade and you can't atone for it... then proceeds to drop the subject and gives you permission to operate in the city.

Gameplay ends with a flashback mission where you play as Fabien, which is probably gonna be a common occurrence to cap off chapters. His gameplay so far consists of talking to people, them not giving him what he wants, and then the game tells you which Malkavian power to use to 'persuade' them.

A short review from EuroGamer:

TL;DR
The game (characters/levels) look nice but there isn't much to do. It isn't an RPG at all - just a first person brawler. The levels are very linear. There isn't much to interact with (objects or people).

lmfao
This is going to be Cyberpunk 2.0, isn't it? Once they release a "complete edition" with some shitty anime, people will claim that it is a "flawed masterpiece" even tho it will be completely broken and awful at launch.

Oh boy, this isn't looking good.

So... pretty much what everyone expected from guys who make walking simulators for a living, especially after they showed off that gameplay footage earlier of a hallway leading to a fight room.

This is going to be Dragon Age Veilguard 2.0 in terms of train wreck potential.

I've been saying it as a joke, it's not a joke - this game is legitimately not even worth pirating. Hell, if I wasted the time to pirate this, I'D be demanding my money back.

If Paradox is just kicking this out the door to try and recoup literally any of the dev cost, at the risk of repeating myself they'd be better off cancelling the game and looking for ways to turn it into a tax write off. They aren't breaking even off this one, never mind making a profit.

Where's the part that has the game in it? I'm looking really hard and all I see is Life is Strange.
Don't mind me, just going to replay the Malkavian Mod.
It's basically just a shitty first person beat 'em up where picking a clan is just which set of fighting moves you get, with the option to spend more xp to buy from another discipline. There's nothing "RPG" about this shit, and paradox has been wanting to crap it out the door and be done with it for at least 2 years now.

With veilguard, EA and the devs at least pretended they made a good game.

Don't worry bros, they will add all that in an update, or behind DLC! Be a true believer, when the Bloodlines anime comes out and saves the game, you will be sorry!

But seriously, what do you even DO in this game then? Just go corridor to corridor like in a COD game and brawling with enemies inbetween?

No combat? How in the actual hell are you supposed to overcome enemies and beat bosses if there are any? It's nice to be able to talk your way through things when it's one option but if the entire game is either pure stealth or social interactions without being able to alter your character in any significant way, it's no longer an RPG, it's a walking simulator masquerading as one.
