What even is the point in making you an elder if you're really just another new fledgling everyone can boss around? And who asked for a faggot in your head to annoy you the whole game? I don't want voices in my head unless I play a Malkavian.

Holy shit the dialogue system, it's awful! 3 choices and all of them lead to the same result, really? Where is the role-play?

I expected this game to be terrible and I'm still disappointed.

Time to install Bloodlines again.
To explain why you go from low power level to mastering discplines in a few week. The amount of wanking about the protag must be low gen or got a special upgrade from Cain and how their power level skyrocketed way higher than any high gen was constant in the first Bloodlines.

If this was requiem this would make alot of sense with how Blood potentcy worked. But this is just some bullshit to justify why you have 5 dots in a discipline in less than a week without bringing in Cain.

This is one of the most reddit character designs they could have come up with.

If you're going to have dialogue between vampires, especially between an old and "young" vampire, at least make it somewhat interesting and not two chicks being coy with each other:

For those that didn't play the game here's a recent video about it that I found fun.
IMO it's a good sub-25k subscribers channel.

It may be bullshit lore wise, but I like exploring this universe more from the perspective of a young vampire that still relatively gives a dam about humanity. Its just so more interesting and easier to connect with the characters rather than playing as some 300 year old monster who cares more for his species then people in general. That was Swan songs problem, as it became divorced from morality over self preservation.

It's also a lot easier to justify busy work when your everyone's favorite chew toy.

People dont like being low powered in videogame fantasies though. And the only real explanation in lore on how a young vampire can throw down with Elders and win via pure physical conflict is being insanely low generation.

Being already an Elder lets them avoid that level of snowflakeness. I can see why they went there. A recently awakened elder having to re establish a power base can be interesting and has a more traditional videogame progression. Iow your a badass who can fight multiple things at once with a boss threat of some same age rival from your past that didnt go into torpor.

Also fuck you for shoving that thin-blood clan and that fucking alchemy garbage they got from 5th; it was one of the dumber decisions and it will NOT sell copies IMO
I didn't have had any hype for this game for years now but putting in a focus on V5 shit, not to mention one of the worst new parts of it (anything thin-blood), sets it in solid Vitanic territory. Can't wait for this shit to crash and burn, hopefully followed by mass layoffs or even the studio closing. What a travesty.
Did these niggas seriously add the Yes, No, sarcastic, sarcastic no, dialogue wheel from Fallout 4?
All these game devs not realizing that if you go for the voiced protag dialogue wheel it better be like the Alpha Protocol one.
KOTE does not exist and we do not acknowledge it in this house, derp.
KOTE was always kinda bad but completly erasing the whole existance of the faction because of "racial sensibilities" will always be a moronic choice. At least Ravnos got kind of a cool send off in comparison.

The problem is it's a lot harder to justify lore and exposition dumps when your an elder and are supposed to know all this stuff already. Swansong expected me to read all the lore and go in already knowing everything (which I more or less do). It's not very conductive to new players when you given only a codex and nothing in game to ease you into the experience.

Also it's bad for playing as a good guy. I'm not saying it isn't possible but if swansong is any indication you can be nice to select people but ultimately don't care about humanity as a whole. There's no major self reflection or second thoughts about what you are and what you do.

Now I think a nifty way to step around this would be to give them amnesia. Kinda like a thawed captain America but they dont remember anything after being bit and have to struggle with powers, the world and their previous actions.

He's not kidding about the weakness to bullets. There's one hilarious section where your squaring up against the vampire overlord and after puffing his chest to look badass a bunch of ordinary spec ops goons easily blow him away with nary a scratch. If I'm remembering it right he even tried to run away.

There's also a section where a bunch of museum security guards with hand guns manage to kill off an entire spec ops force. So that great too.

Ultimately while the gameplay was uninspired I really liked the soundtrack, the art style and the fact they had the voice of Geralt from the Witcher as the main character. Not perfect but probably a lot better then most shitty pozzed games these days. I also enjoyed vampire rain. That was underrated.
I didn't get far enough into it to see how fucked the combat gets, because I was pissed that it was unsuccessfully trying to rip off Masquerade, but not in a funny, interesting, or respectful way. They could've at least given players some leather wrist guards, with which to deflect all the bullets. Pay homage to a guy with some good ideas, that ended up getting fucked by corpos.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is taking RPG inspiration from Baldur's Gate 3 to "make sure we're not taking giant steps backwards"

Developer The Chinese Room is looking to Baldur's Gate 3 to enhance its reboot of the long-brewing Vampire RPG

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is the long-awaited sequel to the cult-favorite RPG from the now-defunct Troika Games, and it's had a bit of an interesting development period following its initial 2018 announcement from developer Hardsuit Lands. Now handled by developer The Chinese Room, the large-scale and involved role-playing game looks to not only bring back Bloodlines' particular brand of role-playing but also modernize the series in a big way.

In a recent interview with PC Gamer, narrative designer Arone Le Bray of Bloodlines 2 spoke about their revival of the Vampire RPG and how the massive success of Baldur's Gate 3 was a source of creative inspiration for them.

For Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, there's been a lot of curiosity about how the reboot is changing its approach to the game following the original attempt from Hardsuit Labs. While details of why that version didn't work out haven't been stated, the developers at The Chinese Room (the creators of Dear Esther and Everyone's Gone to the Rapture) have said that their version of the game features a new story and protagonist, now playing as an elder vampire named Phyre who has reawakened in the modern world.

Speaking with PC Gamer, Le Bray cited recent hit Baldur's Gate 3 as a source of inspiration for their work on Bloodlines 2, saying: "[Sarah Longthrone] (one of our writers) is a huge fan of Baldur's Gate 3, we're looking at how we can borrow aspects [from it], or how we can make sure we're not taking giant steps backwards in terms of stories."

Baldur's Gate 3 received immense acclaim for its approach to role-playing, and many believe it's the closest any video game has come to emulating the immersive and freeform nature of a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons-style role-playing experience.

The approach to storytelling in Bloodlines 2 not only leans on the original table-top RPG, but also the recent trends in the video game role-playing space. Le Bray, in particular, has prior experience as a developer at BioWare, working on the Dragon's Age and Mass Effect franchises. One thing that the developers want to nail is their take on the protagonist, who has to navigate Seattle's seedy supernatural underbelly and make important choices on how Vampire society will evolve.
"For us, it was about looking at Phyre and making sure their character feels believable in this time and setting," said Le Bray. "'Is this character acting in a way the player expects that they would act?' We never want to make it feel like the player could make the wrong choice."

Despite the change in developers and vision, Bloodlines 2 looks to go all in on the Vampire role-playing experience, where players get to immerse themselves within Vampire high and low society, all while maintaining the "masquerade" and keeping humans in the dark about the creatures of the night. With a release scheduled for sometime next year, it'll be interesting to see how Bloodlines 2 turns out with its revised take on a cult-classic RPG.

"For us, it was about looking at Phyre and making sure their character feels believable in this time and setting," said Le Bray
How about not naming the centuries-old Elder Phyre and giving her a "Karen who gave up" haircut, you absolute nigger?

"We never want to make it feel like the player could make the wrong choice"
How many times can we say "Well, it's fucking dead" before this crap releases?

This part was not mentioned in the video but its in the devlog from 10/31. As a reminder these were the clans from Hardsuit Labs. Thin-bloods, Brujah, Tremere, Toreador, Ventrue, Malkavian.
We are happy to share that over the coming weeks we will reveal the four clans playable at launch. The first will be revealed next week. In addition to these four clans, an additional clan will be made available via DLC. A sixth clan will appear in a unique, standalone DLC. Details on the DLCs will be shared during 2024. Some of the clans will be familiar to Bloodlines players, but some will surprise!

I'm not fast enough to save the hostages...
Same. And you can't manually save on console so you have to be careful. I like how it looks like you can completely screw up too.

Most of the choices and side quests are fairly self evident but I got the impression that you can get a lot of people killed or a bad rap if you ignore the quests, arrest good people and pick the bad options.

When you can fuck up in games, you either add a morbid hilarity to it on a second playthrough or keep the player focused and engrossed on the first time.

You assume I don't like it because 'racist' shit? Bruh. I don't give a shit. Ching chong ghosts don't offend me. KOTE sucks because it has no business being anywhere near Vampire and their OP stupidity is just ridiculous and doesn't fit in philosophically. I similarly don't like the Beast Courts for this same reason. They're so diametrically opposed that they shouldn't exist in the same splat. Its just dumb.

Nigger, i assume nothing about you, get your reading comprehension in check. WW cancelled KOTE because of supposed racial sensibilities.

Why do I get the feeling this 'unique stand alone dlc' clan is going to be nosferatu

Seems like the kind of thing the company would do. They're too lazy or incompetent to design a game that can incorporate the way nosferatu have to operate, which even the first game put the time and effort into doing, and figured they'd just make a separate dlc and charge people more who wanted to play that clan, no doubt thinking its a genius move. Though I can see it as one that would put alot of people off

The more they talk about this game the worse they manage to make it sound. It really should have been cancelled entirely. Its going to be a shitshow if it ever ends up getting released and won't make anyone involved look good

LMAO you can't even code anything but a walking simulator without collaborating with others to do the heavy lifting, so good fucking luck you hacks.

Also your shitty elder is basically just the South Park meme as of late. You threw a chick as the protag, and then made her lame and gay in the process. She instantly comes off as unlikeable just due to her design and attention seeking name, and I bet that thin-blood you threw in to serve as a bootleg Silverhand and mouthpiece will also be unlikeable.

It's looking more and more like Paradox is going to rip the project from them and scrap what they do again with this bit of delusional declarative statement. Ain't gonna stop the development, but we're going to get a third dev now.

Yep, it will be shit.

Lol, they copied the worst part of Cyberpunks story. This is going to be utterly dogshit. The mere fact that you're playing an Elder is fucking retarded; what challenge will there be? You should be able to walk into everyone you meet and say 'obey or die faggot' and they will pretty much have to do that, or die.

EDIT: "AnOtHeR VamPiRE dRaiNed My PoWeRE with ThIs mArK!"

Oh, so you're not actually an elder lol, you're just some faggot that is functionally no different from a new sire because the writing for this is going to be bad. No one can see it but I'm doing a dismissive wanking motion now.

As someone who played and enjoyed the first game, I've gotta say it; the sequel is doomed. This is going to suck so much shit and blow so much cock, it will be unreal.
