Unrelated but I don't think any other series has done what Mega Man did. From 1993 to 2007 they'd release 2 to 5 Mega Man games yearly. In 2003 they released 8 games, if you count mobile games, that makes it 13. The fucked up part is that most of these games are good too, baring the few obvious exceptions. I'm not saying that Toby needs to go at an absolute breakneck pace like Capcom was. But, he can pick up the pace a little, I think.

Seriously, he said the sneaking theme that was made for Chapter 3 but was scrapped and reused for the Mike scenes in Chapter 5 was made in 2018, so probably before Chapter 1 even released.

If Toby died before finishing the master-piece, either his troon companions wouldn't be able to finish it properly, or the woke content would be increased to 1000% .

For my own peace of mind, I like to think he has contingency drafts or something for his team, but let's be real, if you spent eight years making half a game, you probably don't have the planning skills for that. By the time chapter 7 comes out, the fandom's gonna be sharing space between 14 year olds and college graduates who were starting middle school when Undertale came out.

It's quarter-yearly. Communicating with your fanbase every three months is below the bare minimum, and this is still being delayed. Now, it is my belief that most of the delays with the game are coming from having to constantly tard-wrangle the hired troon cliqué to make them do anything at all, but the newsletter seems to be in Toby's control, so this is indefensible.

I really want to enjoy this game, but the people that are surrounding it are making it as difficult as possible.

I guess that that would be fine, if a bit worrying due to how many games keep getting stuck in early access nowadays. But if he really doesn't want to continue engaging with the fanbase, then he should just announce that the newsletters are over.

Since Deltarune first dropped, I’ve had three kids that have all grown old enough to enjoy watching me play it. I’m pretty sure I will be eligible for Medicare by the time the last chapter drops lol.

Besides, there's plenty of examples of derivative fan projects and translations; in other words, if they don't like it that much they can make their own, for crying out loud.

Though honestly, it's nuts how many deltarune fans there are in the mid east. My area alone has fucktons of art and sprites of it on Wplace.
 
I think Toby is delaying the newsletter cause he wants to put a chapter 5 release date in it, but doesn't have it yet.
 
I get this is way too early to ask this question but i wonder what's Toby's plan for stuff post deltarune? Is he gonna become a composer? Make another title? Or...fuck off from vidya forever after making his dream project come true? The last question feels like it's the most likely one to happen.

I think he’ll go full-time composer. He was making music long before working on any game.
