I don't get the retards who feel the need to inject real-life politics into fantasy worlds. Isn't the point of fantasy to forget about your shitty real life and the hellish world we live in and live through another character? NO BUT LOOK FICTIONAL CHARACTER AGREES WITH ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I wanted to argue politics, I would have turned my computer off and gone to argue with my retarded coworkers over lunch
But it's so hecking validating when Sonic the Hedgehog says trans rights or when Susie Deltarune lobs niggers heads off with rusty hedge clippers!¡!! You don't understand!!! I NEED MY FICTION TO AFFIRM MY WORLDVIEW CHUD!

The reason why is because to these people, consooming is already their entire life

They spend their whole lives escaping reality the only way they can reengage with reality is through the comforting abstraction of fantasy.

I feel like when most people say "I hate when they force politics into stuff" they all mean the same thing but can't articulate it. The issue isn't politics itself, it's that "politics" means the political views of gay pederasts
Classic Star Trek used to have “politics” in the sense that it addressed philosophical issues relating to real life and usually didn’t take sides - or if it did, it at least respected the other side or presented its own side as an ideal that society should eventually strive for. “Politics” in a lot of modern media (including modern Star Trek) is more preachy, strawmanning the other side and outright condemning the audience for daring to disagree with them, while also presenting their own side as so obviously right that it doesn’t need to be backed up through any sort of reasoning.

You can also look at the issue of politics in games from the viewpoint of Papers Please vs Not Tonight where the former uses its dystopian communist society as a backdrop to explore the themes of making humane decisions while still acting as a cog in the system, and the latter game using its fantasy reality of Brexit The Way I Understand It to make you hate Brexit and the people who support it because they lichurly want you dead and you have no reason not to rebel against the man to the point where it's stupid that you even have the option not to rebel. "Do I let this woman and her child into the country to find refuge from the horrors of her war-torn country vs feeding my family tonight" vs "do i let rosa parks sit on the back of the bus vs getting my head blown off by a policeman"

Not Tonight is the beautiful case of satire becoming real and the creators changing their opinion without missing a beat. (YOU VILL show your corona passports!)
This all happened in about 4 years too.

All the leftist politics in this thread and how they relate to fictional characters can be summarized thusly:

Don't you understand? I fight for THE GOOD™, and my favorite characters are GOOD! Therefore if you oppose my bullshit, you are EVIL!
Villains, assholes and * GULP * a-abusers get a pass because these people like them as characters. If they were to perceive them as actually EVIL they wouldn't be able to enjoy their media as much.

thinking about asgore/toriel/carol/rudy in their college years in the 2000s gives me the same feeling as seeing those episodes of the simpsons where they rewrite how homer and marge met for the 500th time and now they met in high school 20 years ago in the early 2000s instead of the 70s. god damn you toriel should wear bell bottoms and asgore needs a member's only jacket

For what it's worth I unironically think Carol would be a 90s Democrat. She'd probably lead the effort to expel illegals herself.
I was about to make a joke about Kris being the only human in town only to realize the next reply would probably have been
"Well, Kris is a legal citizen so of course she approves of him."

>"I'm going to draw a GOOD CHARACTER not agreeing with an EVIL mindset like RACISM"
>Draws Dr. Doom murdering ICE agents
