The UK will make all the weapons now covered by the offensive weapon list illegal to own from 8th May, rather than just "carry in public", as I think it works now.

This turned up in my recommendations(I have no fukken clue why TBH), but I gave it a watch

Banning everything will cause you to be safer, it's part and parcel.

I don't care how deeply pro united UK you are, call the IRA get some guns and fix this people. For the love of god.
 
I mentioned in another thread that I recently purchased a machete (mainly for gardening work) and I am becoming more and more worried with every thread about this that gets made
 
When did we have a problem with fucking ninjas in the uk? Are chavs having samurai sword duels? The Conservatives continue turning us into a nanny state without any oversight and causing the police more work trying to enforce these laws when they have enough problems with underfunding and the rise of violent crime in the cities. 2020 cant come soon enough tbh lads.

I can understand the public safety rationale of banning firearms, even if I strongly disagree with it. Even the banning of weapons like combat knives or non-cosplay swords. But this...

is just excessive. None of these items are even knives. If people use these as weapons to hurt or kill, it's not the tool that's a problem. It's an issue of personal character, society, and structural/economic problems. But it would be harder for policymakers and civil society to try and deal with something that broad. In this context, I believe that multi-level "weapons" bans are putting on a bandaid over an undrained abscess.

We are just a few years away before someone in Britain runs afoul the thought police and flees to America to seek political asylum. Christ that is going to be a salt mine. Especially since they may actually prevail on the merits in court and be granted that Asylum. The way they are defining offense and legitimate vs. illegitimate political activity is becoming so overly broad that it is inevitable. And the US Courts are probably looking for a reason to enter some really strong precedents into our common law to prevent what is happening in the UK from happening here.
