The women into those novels with the cheesy stock art covers are not the same kind as the ones making this argument in nerdy fandom circles. Females sexualise males too but most of that is stuck in the realm of fandom entertainment where they get their rocks off make fanart or fics, their problem is with the industry which was mostly driven by male creators. Chris Hemsworth took off his shirt in a movie, yeah, but was he hired for being hot over his acting, was his suit designed by a woman who wanted to see a huge bulge? Is there a female Tarantino equivalent hiring guys to act out her foot fetish shots?That would be more believable if there wasn't a gajillion romance novel covers out there arguing otherwise.
I'm not saying it's all fair but there's a reason they seem to turn a blind eye on who does the 'objectification' and it's not purely hypocrisy.
