What makes this better is that, in the game's universe, the villain is totally right. The world IS ending and you (le ebin left-wing cult-busting hero) get thousands of people killed and ruin the planned revival of the world in the aftermath of a nuclear catastrophe.

It's left up to debate whether he really is speaking to God or not, but the implication is there.

Yeah, but as far as I know, they haven't stormed the series's creators social media accounts with accusations of sexism, objectification & fatphobia & demands to coverup/fatten up Shantae & her fellow girls (at least not successfully). Nor have their been any articles from Kotaku, Polygon, IGN, Cracked or any other hack journo outlet bemoaning Shantae for being "sexist and/or fatphobic". And like I said before, Anita never talked about or mentioned Shantae despite it being a game series with a central female protagonist (and yet being everything she and her ilk hate).

Don't agree with that point, but will admit it's better than the contrived "prejudice+power" wordsalad that's usually given to jusify these kinds of double-standards.

Unless those female character are underage jailbait Lolitas that is. Grown female characters being sexualized is wrong to them, but sexualizing pre-pubescent little girls (even babies!) is okay, according to them. WTF indeed?

I feel like there's a sex abuse scandal on the scale of the Vatican brewing just under the surface of TVT. There is so much disingenuous finger-pointing and bald hypocrisy.

Considering what happened with Bulbagarden I wouldn't be surprised. That drama was insane to watch unfold, and TVTropes definitely overlaps Pokemon in terms of the people it attracts.

TVTropes obsesses over children's media, even stuff aimed at the preschool audience, so this is highly likely.

I think that someone who was under aged was messaged by a pedo, a few years ago. Or at the very least, they were complaining about it in the forums.

It might be the insecurities thread, but I don't remember archiving it.
