Given how woke modern TV Tropes is and how Fighteer is even worse of an admin than Fast Eddie was, maybe they were trying to prevent a Third Google Incident or draw any further mockery?

I was around to witness that, and I'm sure you are onto something. TV Tropes was far too slow to establish "ok, some shit is just dumb and we shouldn't encourage it" for far too long, and when it came back to haunt them, they went so far in the other direction they became a worse cure to the disease. They eventually found a less extreme alternative to banning everything remotely offensive that is still too restrictive for my personal taste (hence why I founded All The Tropes, where so long as it's legal to discuss and relevant to the site mission, it's allowed so long as you chill your tism and write with both hands, not just one), but admittedly it's far saner than when they went ballistic trying to sanitize everything.

These days, it's obvious they still remember that to some extent, so they'll drop hammers on similar autism, though their tolerance of woke crap means it has to be really messed up autism you can't justify using woke logic to tamp down on.

Fast Eddie was a fucking brilliant admin compared to that absolute clown, and it was at least possible to have some fun on the site while he ran it.

Fast Eddie may have been an incompetent jackass and a total sperg, but Fighteer was somehow worse in every way.

Like @GethN7 pointed out, Fast Eddie's biggest problem is that he was far too hands-off for way too long. By the time CrazyGoggs and SA w.e.e.n.s started mass reporting some of the seedier TV Tropes pages to Google's ad department, it got so bad that Fast Eddie overreacted but his shock was understandable.

Fighteer was a pathetic weasel from the get-go.

Fast Eddie was old school internet, a Buffy Forum poster who knew how to channel Autism into something creative and entertaining at times. Fighteer is a new post-2007 internet user; one who doesn't believe in having dumb fun on the Internet and only allows mainstream corporate opinions while banning anyone who disagrees with his worldview. Dumbass vs. Asshole in a nutshell.

Indeed Fast Ending was old school nerd. Well Fightteer is a SJW nerd, who freaks out over the slightest different view point there is.
 
This has to do with All The Tropes, but it's a policy we adopted we found addresses a problem many may have seen on TV Tropes.

TV Tropes will crack down on horrible grammar, but generally it has to be in a really prominent place for it be noticed, otherwise, you will see hideous Engrish all over the place. On All The Tropes, one thing we are admittedly autistic about is having good grammar. Most of our admins have written in some form of professional field or still do in some capacity, so we tend to be a bit hardassed about things being legible.

We've found that does wonders for keeping out some of the more "drops their brain farts without bothering to make them coherent" types.

But I always found it weird how his ad revenue was jeapordized by how allowing fap bait on his site instead it of trying to be more proactive on protecting his money.

What happened was the Goons and other spergs who hated TV Tropes decided to not only touch the manure, they planned to outright roll around in it Vordrak style by trying to screw over TV Tropes by any means possible. Utilizing bombarding Google AdSense with all sorts of reports of jacked up shit, they basically succeeded into making that a weak link to cripple the site they hated.

Had TV Tropes established boundaries earlier, this likely would not have happened, or at least it would've been harder for it to have been pulled off.

Probably worse. As in more explicit fanfiction and that bra size chart. Maybe a civil war over fetishizing trannies and protecting them.

The woke was likely to creep in eventually, but the encroachment on the site might have been slowed considerably at best, but TV Tropes always had a bit of lefty drift to begin with from what I understand.

but it was probably not as bad as it is today. Granted being as SJW as they can may be their replacement from the fetishist.

It's an hugbox, or course it's the perfect incubator for the Left...As long as enough people scream "BLOODY MURDER!" at anything remotely offensive .

But I blame society as an whole for that last bit.

I think some woke shit would have crept into the forums but the Wiki would've probably been left alone save for maybe a few specific "Useful Notes" pages or something.

Fast Eddie going full puritan to save his ad revenue more or less set the stage for Fighteer to take over and if anything, Fighteer is the reason why SJW culture is so dominant on TV Tropes right now.

If he weren't in charge, it'd probably seep in but it would be a lot less likely to fully take over the site and I could see Fast Eddie or someone else keeping the SJW's in a containment area, either a single sub-forum or let them have the forums and the actual wiki be left untouched,
 
I never expected this big of a page for that show.Also apparently its not woke enough.Which is funny considering how the show is basically a joke/homage to the 80's.So not being woke when doing somethig about the 80's is actually expected?I think???
Aren't tv shows about the past supposed to reflect somewhat the ideas of the era?Even going overboard at times?Otherwise its gonna sound weird to have a character rant about 'trans rights' in 1980 without others looking a bit weird at them.
