Reading over this thread still makes me glad I ditched the site during the Autism Holy War of 2014. If tropes are tools, then these speds are too busy trying to cram drill bits into their urethrae to do anything useful.

Tropes are indeed tools, but they tend to have a dumb way of interpreting that. Tropes are tools in the sense they each have their own specialized usage and when used appropriately, they can help create wonderful works of media. Most of the people we discuss, however, try to use the leveling measure as a hammer when they can't find the actual hammer even if pounds nails like shit and are later shocked when the media they try to create is razzed for being a pisspoor effort that is poorly constructed.

Tropers seem to believe that tropes are evil and you have to excise them from all media.

It never ends.

"Opposing escapism is wrong because..because..because I say it is!" As to be expected from people who prefer fantasy over reality.

Or I could reference the Matrix or any other shows where the moral is to advance beyond fantasy and grow as a person in the harsh real world, but whats the point? To Tropers fantasy and the fictional world are governed by absolute rules they can follow and fit into while ignoring human imagination and creativity for these fictional universes

Indeed.

Heck, the Platonic Cave is one of my favorite types of stories, so it's ironic that the Tropers can't see why it is used often. Then again, we're talking about a community that believes that all far-left Democrats are superheroes.

I used to love TV Tropes, until I realized how much they love sucking the hard left of the Democrat party's dick and it ignores me how many characters they believe are gay.

The ho-yay pages are almost a case-study into the mind of a socially-stunted Tumblr fujoshit. Virtually all friendly interactions between same-sex characters is treated as a sign that they are totally having buttsex/scissoring. Reminds me of that CS Lewis quote about the obsession with sexual love:
Old Clive Staples himself said:
Those who cannot conceive Friendship as a substantive love but only as a disguise or elaboration of Eros betray the fact that they have never had a Friend.

The Hermeneutic of Gay Suspicion is a cancer on male relationships everywhere.

Tropers think the mundane real world they are trapped in is the Cave; fiction is the sun-drenched Platonic realm of pure goodness, courage, and beauty.

/pol/ edits TV Tropes. Lmao they got mad when "Second wave Feminists were disproportionately white" was changed to "Second wave Feminists were disproportionately Ashkenazi":
