Which is when FE started the hugbox rule, unfortunately.

And while it dovetailed nicely with the SJWs taking control (they just milked his hugbox for their own gain and he did shit to stop it since they tongued his balls, which was what he wanted all along), his reasons were frankly a lot more self centered and childish.

Originally, he let his site become a free for all, and when some of his earlier decisions came back to haunt him and he got shit for it, the hugbox was implemented because he was ashamed and embarassed and couldn't take the heat, ironically stirring more anger in his direction because he was now cracking down on dissent his earlier tolerance had minimized.

When i and my associates at All The Tropes decided what we wanted to be the site culture of our alternative, we were painfully aware of how this all happened, and we have bent over backwards to avoid repeating the same mistakes, or we've at least tried.

In fairness to FE, he was charting virgin ground in some ways and while it's to be expected some changes were gonna be bad, a better man would have have taken those failures as lessons to learn from, accept blame where it was justified, and move on. However, he chose to take it personally and couldn't get over getting shit on for his earlier free for all policies backfiring in ways that caused him embarrassment and decided his ego was more important than his integrity.

Fun fact: they have a page for MovieBlob. Is there anyone brave enough to venture onto that page to see what kinds of autism it contains?

I know a lot of the YMMV page posts how he gets some facts wrong for his reviews. I remembered a few pages back there was a link to a page that had tropers who were former fans give their reasons why they weren’t fans

Its weird that on their forums you have to state beforehand 'i'm not sexist' before saying 'i didn't like it'.Apparently disliking a movie for sort of objective reasons like bad acting/bad plot/nonsensical storyline doesn't work anymore. To be honest i didn't care for the whole Brie Larson controversy either way.I always assume most actors suffer from some form of narcissism and you shouldn't expect them to be great people in real life.As long as they're good actors i don't care for the other stuff although recently i'm starting to realise that Kevin Spacey was probably never that great of an actor primarily because he just played himself in most of his movies a slightly creepy/deranged individual.

I'll be honest and admit that I haven't got a clue what A Confederacy of Dunces is about, but I can't help but feel that whoever wrote this seems a bit bitter.

That's actually more or less an accurate description of Ignatius J. Reilly other than the comparison to the alt-right, when he's more like the kind of person who writes angry, autistic TV Tropes articles.

Because as with Femmebusters, you're not allowed to think a shitty movie is shitty if it has been given the woke seal of approval. The only thing anyone wants to hear after you say such heresy is an explanation of why you're a rapist and want to kill women.

Then again the YMMV pages all need fact checking because those pages literally pretend very hated characters are just "love or hate types" and most of the things in YMMV are never backed up.
There's also them acting like certain characters are far more hated / loved than they really are.
