Holy shit, those comments.
"Reality has a liberal bias." They're becoming as bad as RationalWiki, at this point.

You aren't kidding.

Reminds me of that classic "glass is half full/half empty" perspective line.

Both answers are biased. Half the glass has water in it if you ask me.

Truth is not inherently positive nor negative, it's objective, because once you strip away any optimism or pessimism, what remains is what actually is no matter how you look at it.

What troopers tend to forget on average: the truth, like the world, isn't nice or gentle. Simple as that. If you can remember that, you're already one step ahead, honestly.

There's an entire subpage about the gay subtext in Franklin, a preschool show about a turtle.

I've written term papers shorter than that. The scariest part is that this is all clearly written by one individual.

Tv tropers are the kind of people to be afraid of My Littlest pet shop and talk about “base breaking” episodes of the Backyardigans, so they probably just want to stay in their nice little bubble.

These fuckers are the reason Western Animation isn't allowed to be fun anymore, like it should be for people who love the medium in general (such as myself, clear-as-day-autism aside.). It doesn't, nor shouldn't, take long for anyone with a fucking brain to see that, honestly.

It's less of "my weeb show isn't allowed to be fun anymore" and more of "let's see what else we can exaggerate!"

Seriously, try reading an tearjerker or fridge page with an straight face.

There is quite a bit of that. TV Tropes' structure tends to allow people to just sperg endlessly with even less oversight than other wiki engines because their history pages are harder to navigate, meaning it's not hard for a single autist to dominate entire groups of pages, and their subdivided namespace driven search means unless you analyze all edits in real time constantly, patterns of who is crapping out their every brainfart are harder to discern.

MediaWiki has a more accessible search engine and recent changes, not to mention the history pages are much easier to parse. Doesn't mean the problem doesn't exist on it, but not to same degree without being noticed as compared to PmWiki.

Already have here-or-there. And I'm not dong it again anytime soon, unless I'm in a state where I need to really hurt myself (not physically, though - I don't hate myself like that and I ain't that fucking stupid, either.).

TvTropes has an "advice" page called "So You Want To Be a Caustic Critic." Naturally, they list Nostalgia Critic and all of (what used to be) That Guy With the Glasses:

I would call it So You Want to Be Austistic, but the site as a whole already gives a good outline for that. Other good names include: So You Want to Be a Sex Offender, So You Want to Be a Failure, and my favorite, So You Want to Get Attention from TVTropes.

If only the tropers could apply the "how to deal with criticism" part to themselves

I'll be honest and admit that I haven't got a clue what A Confederacy of Dunces is about, but I can't help but feel that whoever wrote this seems a bit bitter.

Seems like they believe peak "alt right" and the culmination of fascism and bigotry in our world is the people sperging out on Youtube about how horrible the Last Jedi and Fembusters are.

Ignatius J. Reilly may be a lazy slob who wanks off to Boethius and medieval philosophy and loves comic books ("I rather respect Batman"), but I still think he'd think the alt-right has no theology and geometry.
