There are no girls on the Internet and never weree. The only difference between back then when this fact was first discovered is nowadays a "girl" on the Internet is more likely to want to chop their dick off.
 
Eh I wouldn't know that, there are actually a ton of kiwis who are women. But the whole trope actually came from the fact that back in the old days (2000-2011) girls actively hide from the fact that they were women so that way dudes wouldn't get hard ons from the fact that a woman was around them. It was pretty common to be a guy in a woman's shit. That's probably why a lot of geek women are bisexual probably.

That and there are lots of guys using female personas online. The difference is many of them didn't claim to be trans back then.
 
So judging by their infuriating "Pls don't adblocks," pop-up, I'm guessing Tv tropes is hitting some financial difficulties.

Anybody got any more info?

I know this ain't my place to speak... Regardless...
That's good news, honestly. Too bad (worst case scenario speaking here.) I fear once that (inevitable) crash comes, they'll likely migrate to AllTheTropes, which I hope doesn't happen.
If it does, I really fucking hope the admins THERE (are ready to) fight accordingly.
 
The ad-light promise is a pile of shit. Maybe light on space, but I've noticed that whatever ads they're running make my browser chug. Probably has something to do with the fucking autoplay videos.

This is one of the reasons ATT refuses to use ads (aside from the Wikia fork, which is out of our hands on that score).

And don't worry, we have contingency plans in plan if that time comes.
