It's actually a triple insult. It insults women by insinuating they have to be men to be athletic. It insults men by saying most of them cosplay as women if they want to be seen as female and sporty, and it insults the transgender by accusing any who fit that body type of BSing their gender to fit a stereotype.
1. It's a biological reality that excessive masculine behaviors in females and excessive feminine behaviors in males decrease sex appeal not just in humans but other species; beyond that people can do what they want, but if a woman decides to take steroids and put on 300 lbs of pure lean muscle mass, she shouldn't be suprised when she gets hit on by lesbians more than men, her choice.

Same with freaks who cross-dress - dress up like a woman and perpetuate your psychosis all you damn well want, but then don't expect anyone to do anything other than laugh when you go on Tumblr to whine about why you're a single virgin who gets called a "faggot" by all the guys in your grade.

It's one of the most bigoted and insensitive things anyone could argue in good faith if you ask me.
If reality is bigoted, then the problem's the denialists, not reality.

And the only "sensitivity" they really deserve is a bullet or a death camp, which ever's cheaper on the taxpayer.

Or "all men who aren't masculine and macho are secretly women".
Not women, but I can guarantee you that Liberace is much more likely to "swing the other way" than Bruce Willis. Not that this needs to be pointed out since it's common sense anyway, and the only reason folks even pretend to debate simple axioms like this is because PC is trendy today.

But yeah, the website is hypocritical for not being consistent with their mythological PC bullshit, I agree.

I think you need a definition of "gender essentialism", because I honestly have no idea what the hell you're thinking everyone else is saying here.

Gender essentialism is the idea that gender roles and gender are the exact same thing. Gender roles define gender, and gender defines gender roles. If every single female character in a novel secretly dreams of becoming a housewife and raising kids, even if they have nothing in common besides being women, that's an example of gender essentialism. If someone says that a male character must actually be a trans woman because he likes to wear pink and read romance novels, that's another example of gender essentialism. The philosophy doesn't criticize people who aren't gender-conforming, it outright denies that they exist, which is what makes it gay and unrealistic.

Well don't mind me too much, I just like triggering people. But apparently there's a lot of confusion about who is arguing what. All I will say is that the consensus seems to be that both nature and nurture play some role in how people behave, however the trendy SJW notion that there are "no differences" between the sexes other than the genitals is more or less bull.

You sure you're not the triggered one? This seems like a big deal for you.

Tropers discuss the Pewdiepie controversy (post 13175 onwards):

The very first response?

Isn't wrong think punishable by death in most communist regimes? I figured tropers would prefer that.

This may be power-leveling, but I used to browse the TV Tropes Wiki out of boredom back in high school. Even contemplated joining their forums at one point.

Thank God I did not go through with it. Now TV Tropes has become so riddled with SJW's, unregulated autism, and fan wank, I can't even stomach the wiki anymore.

I saw this on the Old Shame page for Western Animation:
  • Most of the crew, including Stephen Hillenburg, hate the Spongebob Squarepants episode "One Coarse Meal" for the way Mr. Krabs treated Plankton, nearly driving him to suicide, and getting away with it. The only crew members who liked the episode are the writers of said episode, Zeus Cervas and Casey Alexander. Just...think about that.
Gee, I wonder who could have written this entry....

That loser with that "Growing Around" cartoon...which I heard he turned into a book (unless Encyclopedia Dramatica lied to me or it's a joke).

TV Tropes can be fun, and I'll freely admit to browsing it on a somewhat regular basis myself (which is why I post a lot here). However, it has a lot of problems stemming from a certain demographic that it appeals to.

"There's no such thing as notability" is just one of those things that sounds great on paper, but is a disaster in practice.

Next they're gonna claim that Zeus and Casey kick puppies and eat babies, won't they?

If you guys thought the pages were already annoying, the forums are just even worse, with even more SJW pandering, snobs thinking their writing is "superb", and every media/character/story out there is bad and problematic and all those negative buzzwords. Not to mention every single post they make is written in such a passive aggressive way, as if to belittle any other forum member who doesn't agree with their views.

There's also an entry on there saying that Craig Bartlett hated the Hey Arnold! episode "Arnold Betrays Iggy" so much he made the writing staff apologize for it and never had it aired again.

Because that really happened, right?

Actually that did happen, apparently. I think he was interviewed about it and he said the ending was sad or something. I'm not sure how true that is but it sounds convincing.....nah.

He might not have liked it, but for sure he did not make the writing staff apologize for it and ban it from airing ever again.

I don't know if he made the staff apologize or not but the part about it never airing again is bullshit, because I've seen that episode on TV relatively recently (as in, sometime within the past few years).

Speaking of Iggy, you'd think that he raped some troper's dog or something considering the hate he gets over there.
