And lastly, make sure that its success doesn't stop the inevitable wave of young, diversity filled movies! No need to cater to those old, out of touch Conservative geezers! Stop idolizing old heroes for goodness sake!

"I happen to know many people who hate it and want more shitskins killing white people."

Of course they do.

I find that community to be full of wanna be geeks and nerds when they are just lowlifes that leech off of fandoms because they become mainstream.

Pretty much noped out of politics at this point because it's a shitshow ran by manipulative soyboys. But when comes to the boys I don't know where these people's political leanings are but they are mocking people on both sides on the isle so that's that. What gets a chuckle out of me is that they end up making themselves a target for the mockery done in the series and so do people that are suffering from both TDS and TES because of their sheer lack of self-awareness.
Another thing about The Boys? The comic is genuinely bad. Like, I've seen videos critiquing it, and even I have to say as someone of centre-right that it is proof that Garth Ennis needs restraints to do good things. So someone MIGHT prefer a TV show that takes names and character descriptions and turns what was a mean dig at superheroes and everyone who likes them into a satire of celebrity behaviour and corporate greed (Seasons 1 & 2 in particular). I can confirm: I had fond memories of watching the show's first four episodes and I'll buy Seasons 1 & 2 on home video.

But TV Tropes doesn't like The Boys comic because it's bad, they don't like it because it's politically incorrect. I mean, come on. Don't hate something because PC, hate it because it stinks objectively!

Fighteer your retarded reasoning makes it no surprising you're an autist in his 40s moderating a forum for mentally arrested adults with a kid whose barely yours.

I remember thinking the original Top Gun was pretty obvious military propaganda but still a fun romp of a movie. Also imagine thinking consooming a movie makes a political point either way.

These are idiots who will pretend to like Soy Wars and Wokebusters to own the chuds.

I'm not surprised they hate top gun maverick for not subverting tropes. And i find it hard to believe fighteer is pushing 50 with an attitude like that. Wonder how he'll react if anyone points out his boy biden creeping in children on camera. Not that it matters because tv tropes seems to hate it when conservatives get humanized.

Didn't they get upset about the libtard line in far cry 5?

fighteer is pushing 50
Fighteer is 46 now. He became a moderator on August 12, 2010. Imagine spending eleven years of your life reigning over a site while you're in your mid 30s to early 40s. It's enough to make anyone jaded.

When Fighteer turns 50, do you think he'll end up bitching about how miserable his life is?

Honestly I don't find The Boys comic to be bad, I get that Garth has a massive hate boner for superheroes but people are missing the point, probably because people have a septic mentality. Joke aside, he makes a very good point about superheroes and how they would be if they had the same flaws and insecurities as normal people but at the same time he also shows how some people like Hughie, Starlight and MM don't succumb to such corruption and wickedness as other Supes because they are the few that either have legitimate strong moral foundations or just don't care about the power apart from the practical benefits it gives them.

I get that the narrative can be bad and there are some dumb twists but behind the crassness and filthy there is a very good message, don't let power get to your head and stay grounded, and don't be cunt, not even Butcher who was one of the more normal characters didn't get off the hook and we all know how much Garth loves his edgy (borderline) Normal Anti-Heroes, so he doesn't spare his favorites even.

The Amazon series does have some pros and cons but one good thing it does is make it digestible to a broder audience without compromising on it's core values, the other is the casting because we all know that Anthony Starr steals the show in 9/10 cases. My only grib with the show is that it strays a bit too much from the vision Garth Ennis had but considering how harshly he bashes American culture and his Northern Irish perspective on matters.

I doubt The Boys suck because if it did there would be no way in hell that it would picked up and become such a good tv adaptation. So I respectfully disagree. As for TVT, they are too retarded to judge shit.

When he makes America look bad, he does it plausibly by being grossly incompetent or out of touch. Other than the retarded Vice President, the clone they made to keep their superman in check became so fucked in the head because there was next to nothing for him to pin on the guy, so he makes an elaborate plan that manages to fuck everything up simply because he wanted to fulfill his purpose. Not to mention the part about the hero who pretended to like fags, which may have contributed to their dislike for the comic.

It also shows how inept and moronic superheroes are when they don't have a real clue what they're doing even with all that power. Case in point: how they handled 9/11.

eeeyeah, I don't see it.

Tvtropes aside, the problem with The Boys comic is that as gripping as it can be, it's so insanely juvenile. Garth Ennis has the sense of humor of an edgy 12 year old. The worst part is that Ennis isn't actually making a point about superheroes being bad because:

1. Superheroes are not real people who need to be torn down, it's like being spiteful against Oompa Loompas.
2. The world portrayed in the Boys comic is so deliberately made to support his strawman arguments that it becomes absurd. Like yeah, when you write every Supe in your story as either an arrogant douchebag, a hypocritical rapist or an actual retard (very tasteful by the way) of course you can make the argument that superheroes are stupid.

Another good example is The Pro, which is another satire book by Ennis about superheroes being useless. But he can't convey that without a mouthpiece that just says his opinions out loud. The dude really isn't a good capeshit writer, he should probably find another avenue.

Yeah, it's juvenile and spiteful. What he tries to convey, though, is how gritty and shitty people can be. Satire, after all, has some truth to it.

More Nightmare Fuel, from Fallout 4 this time:

I can agree that the nuke going off was a genuinely visceral moment, but the melodrama of calling the orchestral sting “the screams of the damned” is pushing it, and the ”some people will be alive in 2077“ is dumb.

And it’s been said before, but “oh, they‘ve made a game harder” is not scary. It’s a purely abstract thing.

And then from the “Race Lifting” page, they tried to have “times when minorities were whitewashed” and still has so few options they had to resort to hypothetical plans and misunderstandings of words:

Ruddy and deeply tanned makes me think of Hulk Hogan, who could probably pass for a Scandenavian.
