The Thor film was pretty good. But it would be hard for Taika Waititi and Jeff Goldblum to disappoint me.

Yeah, but after that, it kind of became mostly generic capeshit. But I'm not really surprised that Captain Marvel tanked again.

I pretty much just come here everytime I notice something stupid that I think is either worth being mad about or worth laughing at. This is the only website where I can reliably shit on Tvtropes so it's a...safe space? No let's just say social club.

I think a lot of people did. People like to push woke this or chuds that for Phase 5 not performing as well and while there is a quality issue, I think the real reason is that MCU has been going for over 10 years and people are just ready to move on to a different formula. I know I was done after Endgame and it had nothing to do with culture war nonsense. I just had enough. Couldn't even gather the energy to watch GotG 3 or Ant-Man 3 and I liked the other movies.

I think it goes both ways: nobody cares about the MCU post-Endgame, and Disney is trying to fix that by pandering and pushing diverse heroes in the hopes that they could get moviegoers based on identity politics, since it worked well for Black Panther and they got showered with awards for mediocre capeshit simply because it appealed to insecure niggers. I also wonder if some of the decline is related to the “millennial writing” that is rampant in post-Ragnarok MCU, because I can definitely say that I didn't like the constant quips and refusal to take anything seriously that plagues the MCU.

It's honestly pathetic in how obsessed they are at sticking their ideology into literally every piece of media. It's like they're unable to enjoy something unless it A) Says something "meaningful," and B) Reinforces their biases and ideologies. Therefore, they have to insert their beliefs into a show about goblin murder, because having it "just" be about goblin murder would be in some way "childish" and therefore "a waste of time." It's like when a teenager becomes obsessed with guns, swearing, and boobs to prove how "mature" he is, except with Marxism.

That's.... as both a capitalist and Goblin Slayer fan, this offends me on multiple levels.

Literally at no level does "socialism" solve any of this because most of the issues are technological. Ok, so a small frontier village sees signs of goblins. Then what? It's not like they can radio 911 and call for police or military help. Ok the Guild stops operating at a "profit" - then what? They would have had no reserve of liquid currency to offer the impromptu goblin killing quest against the Goblin Lord if they weren't a profitable venture. If quests didn't have prices as a signal of need and level, you would have the guild sending high level, highly equipped adventurers to do something like "rat cleanup" while newbies would get sent on dragon-slaying duty and wind up dead even faster. A key point in the worldbuilding are cocky rookies overconfident in their abilities and trying quests that are WAY over their head instead of something more in line of their capabilities. How exactly would you figure that out without price signals?

Also the world-building makes it clear that the more proper militaries of the world are too busy focused on much larger problems like dragons and dark wizards. They can't go scurrying off to every report about goblins because then major population centers would be left undefended. Since there's also not the wealth and resources to field anything like a police force, "adventurers" in this situation are stop-gap measure to fill the void with occasionally large groups of adventurers banding together to essentially confront larger problems that pose a threat (such as the Goblin Lord in vol 1 and the later attack on the larger town during the harvest festival).

They also seem to not realize that Goblin Slayer bartering his services to perform chores on the farm is paying for his room and board with Cow Girl and that is capitalism too. Also he doesn't "barely" get by, he just spends almost everything he gets as reward on more tools to help slay goblins. It just seems like he doesn't have much because he makes a point of not going into a den with anything of value less the goblins get ahold of it and become a bigger menace. The exception are things he doesn't believe goblins can use, like rings of water breathing and a scroll for "magic gate" which can be turned into a water cannon if needed.

But yeah, the whole thing is a "critique of capitalism" if you believe that adopting socialism will fix the weather or magically give people teleport powers.

Well, I was going to archive it; but lately, I've occasionally been getting some XML errors whenever I try to archive it. Here's the working version.

But in more important news, the site is being accused (now deleted) of promoting heteronormativty (or whatever the fuck they call it) in the form of how "Violently Protective Girlfriend" is written.

And it also turns out that jannies have nothing else better to do but to police their users' pages for thoughtcrime. Speaking of which, nothing noteworthy came from that incident with that guy calling out Jimmy Seville

There's an moratorium placed on the American politics thread because too many people were celebrating Kissinger's death. But since this is TVT, the jannies are subtly complaining that policing the forums is cutting into the time they spend monitoring the wiki. And they've made an new rule that prohibits any discussion of politics outside of the designated forum, which also pissed off their users.

The bear thief guy did the sensible thing and started DMing random people, so he's gone

Oh, here's some paranoia from one of their speds.

You know, the current situation is kind of funny when you consider how Fighteer was celebrating the death of that one Supreme Court Justice. But at any rate, the jannies are being hypocritical, again. Along with banning their more vocal critics
