when i tried turtle wow the global chat was full of trannies and gooners and groomers openly talking about boykissing and i got permabanned from the game for calling them tranny pedos and range banned on their forums when i tried to appeal the ban

I was thinking of doing this myself, I tried it a few years ago and I don't think I got further than the launcher, because of problems with either them not accepting my email provider or me not living in an acceptable region, something like that, but maybe it's been fixed now.

I played it before it got swarmed with chinks and they had to open a new server for them, it hadn't been nearly as bad back then. After they started to open multiple servers you could tell they were getting much more corporate with their approach.

I remember a few years back when someone got banned from a TF2 server because he posted, “imagine being trans lol”. And it caused a lot of pearl clutching because transphobia.

Troons ruins everything they touch.
 
I get why this is happening and it makes sense, but it would have been funny if they fed the retards in America that posted about working for Turtle on LinkedIn to Blizzard and just kept running it in whatever 3rd world country they were in.
 
Shame, the new talent trees looked pretty neat. Felt like how the system was always meant to be (although i would like more hybrid talents on the lower tiers). The devs were troon adjacent for a while. Programmer socks were a dev item in the game, and of course trannies immediately weasel their way in to take over in every community they join.
 
What a pity. These guys carried the torch a lot better than Blizzard ever did. I wonder if Ascension will be in the sights next. Ascension consumed Epoch and is a much bigger private outfit than Turtle was.

I guess this somewhat signals that Blizzard is eyeing Classic+ for real. But a big part of Turtle's appeal is that they were militant about banning bots and RMT. Which Blizz does not do.

I liked leveling up a character and raiding a bit like four years ago. It was a nice trip down memory lane to the 00s. They had really great custom content.

One major problem with this genre (much moreso the private servers because they are free) is that it is full of jobless losers who pearl clutch about every faggot thing you can imagine. I remember some years ago I joined a random guild advertising in Orgrimmar. One of the members was going on about how he "made it" to the middle class and that it finally feels good to be successful and provide for his family. I cheered him on and asked him what the success was about. Turns out it was getting on disability and voucher subsidized rent and I was like what? I told him that wasn't middle class and I got gkicked. It was just so surreal in its retardation.

I'll never, never understand people who play on private servers. mmorpgs are literal time sinks and you choose to sink it into a sink in russia that rightfully got hammered a few years later. And the sink is full of sissy pills and p2w. But god forbid you play a subpar retail wow that'll never disappear I guess?

SOD is already classic+ in it's own way. And as long as blizzard doessnt know what made vanilla wow tick, classic+ by blizzard will always be bad. The best they could do for SOD was just backporting TBC and WOTLK spells.

Single player games also have limited content that end up costing you time to go through with no persistent character. But people play that fine. Private servers give you a way to experience a server reset, possibly with a few changes to the game, so you can get the experience again. Not much different from replaying a single player videogame you like.

If you log in to your retail WOW character 6 years after you last played it, it practically is a different game and what you liked very well couldve disappeared.

A time well spent is not a time wasted. Rather deal with optimal cash shop then paying 15 bucks a month for a sub par experience over run by gold farming bots.

I have a level 70 character on a official classic server. But i will never touch it again because the game i liked has changed with the expansions.

MMORPGs as a genre are something special. It's a shame the genre has gone into the shitter for a multitude of reasons. Survival games like Windrose do scratch that certain itch a little though.

It has of course changed a lot in 20+ years but it has a certain kind of appeal. In many ways they were a product of their era though and I get that. That said Classic WoW always has a lot of charm to me.

Sucks. I played a while on TWoW and really enjoyed my time there. The work they put in and the content they added, at least the stuff I got to see, was nothing short of impressive.
I can, however, not get too upset at Blizzard, because they were well within their legal rights, and the TWoW people were really asking for it.

Why am I not shocked that the guy who is stuck in an endless loop of complaining about WoW and then crawling back to it like a battered wife doesn't understand private servers.
