While I had no investment as I never found the time to give MMOs a try, one less option to get away from the Eldritch entity that is Blizzard's greedy tendril is never a good thing. Sure, they may be fags who did a bunch of things wrong that ultimately shut them down, but it always starts with one getting shut down before the rockslide of shit comes down.
What will happen in the future regarding private servers not based in "I don't give a fuck" countries, who knows. I assume most people will go to the next big server or whatever, I assume most people here are now either quitting or making their own small private server to suit their own needs?

Losing all of the new content they developed is what hurts the most. The new dungeons were better than anything Blizzard has developed in years while still feeling uniquely Vanilla. Gilneas City, Stormwrought Ruins, and Dragonmaw Retreat would be playerbase favorites you'd be hearing about forever had they been added to official servers.

I checked those out and while i love the ascetic look they were going for. i felt Stormwrought and Dragonmaw felt a bit too big for their own good. Those can take awhile if you dont know where you going since there so much space and trash mobs you had to deal with. i did love Gilneas City and Black Marsh though, and Karazhan crypt/10 man was also good.

Blizzard is too fucking lazy to do anything with classic that they might actually have to put effort into.

SoD was all reused assets, as well as the one dungeon they said they developed over a weekend. Which to me is crazy because it proves how incompetent they are.

Both retail and SOD are bad. I don't know if they know they can feed WOW addicts scraps and they'll be happy, or if they really tried their best and this is really the best they can do, or if they're given only little money to work with to maximize profits.

I ran Stormwrought Ruins the other day, absolutely amazing content, it feels like it could have been in Vanilla
 
Decided to log in and see whats going on. Its like a ghost town now. Only 400 players online when it used to be over a thousand in weekends.
 
Never expected there to be a thread for Twow's demise here on KF, to be honest, they deserved their death lol, they had the balls to egg Blizzard on and shill themselves anywhere and everywhere, then when they get noticed and get their ass handed to them they bitch, something something play stupid games win stupid prizes.

And their content at least to me was nothing out of the ordinary, Fumetas wow and similar servers did this kind of shit ages ago but they weren't astroturfed by obsessed fanboys, Blizzard haters (understandable stance) and Sheena mafia money, let's not even forget they shilled Twow as a "classic+" server for literal years while having no actual meaningful classic+ content at all and still siphoning money from their fans, since that's all Sheena gives a shit about.

Nothing has been genuinely lost though and it's only a matter of time before someone gets their content and makes a new server, hopefully one under a better team and maybe developing something related to the cancelled South seas expansion, but one can only hope.
