Between this shit and the rise of scalpers getting nightmare levels of aggressive and buying off each other in a death spiral of hot potato it's just a constant cycle of price hikes and "value" for increasingly lower effort figures. I'm still mad about amazon fucking me out of my tidal wave due to the money being like 1 cent off and I still slightly want the figure but I also dodged a bullet there with the exploding knee situation and the claim they couldn't engineer him to transform like the original so he HAS to partsform is such a blatant outright LIE as proven by the third party ones (which are unfortunately more expensive so no getting those lmao)

I'm glad I got that used third party voyager scale mp style megatron and the unopened nemesis bridge set off someone that was selling it for space, Not just because ss86 is oversized to match the oversized 86 prime, but because I'm not going to be able to fucking afford any of the new things that may or may not "scale" with him and scalpers keep fucking hawking the 60 dollar upmarked voyager "leader" to 200-300 dollars. Like gee, do you use a payment service for a figure that's significantly cheaper than it's 120 dollar msrp and unaffected by the tariffs and shipping fee shit making life hell for anything they count as "imports" already as is? or do you pay 200 dollars for a cool but kinda jank figure that would have been around 50 dollars if not for all the little "reasons" for increasing prices the last few years and scalper death spirals? HMMM I WONDER!

They used the film masters as the source which had a ton of animation errors that had been corrected for the broadcast masters, including some really major ones (like Mirage making himself visible inside the Decepticon ship, except he doesn't), some of which they tried to fix, but really badly. This, and the only audio option they had was a 5.1 track which new sound effects that weren't there before. The included "mono" tracks were just downmixes of those so they still had the new SFX.

Here's Anode reaching a literal special snowflake. Ironic in a way since he's very clearly written to be human, and Lug was as well. I think they brought in a troon to consult their creation too.
IDW and Ask Vector Prime have ruined the franchise, as they seem to only exist to make TFWiki admins orgasm with lore, and in the troon's cases (FortMax and Broadside), orgasm with woke shit.

I'm old enough in the TF Fandom to remember by this time Roberts was being ACTIVELY solicited by a literal horde of Tumblr/Twitter crazies to include the most bizarre social justice nonsense and preachiness in his Lost Light comic. It made reading unpleasant as you could see the "strings" where he was doing something purely to appease them. Tailgate getting super strong was purely as a result of constant screeching about "power dynamics" with Cyclonus as the relationship was - I kid you not - labeled "pedophilia".

Season 1 I generally liked, awful treatment of Star Saber and some other things aside. Season 2 you could tell things were starting to go off the rails. But from the things I've seen the story got so unhinged that I definitely made the right call skipping it.

The whole ending of IDW seemed like a total clusterfuck with all the crossover nonsense, things being done purely for shock value, Unicron being defeated with a hug, etc.

Alex Milne at least kept the architectural blockiness of the robots, the new artist was too "man wearing bucket on head" uncanny valley shit.

IDW did try to course correct near the end, but too little too late.
 
I'm sort of bummed out that I decided to drop out of modern TFs years ago because they've finally moved on from the terrible CHUG aesthetic to something a bit more animation accurate, but I'm also relieved because it means I'm not spending a fucking fortune on them thanks to the increasing prices.

Instead I'm spending a fucking fortune on the vintage toys. :P
 
Figure came in the mail, set up a temporary bootleg ass photo spot again. Was gonna take some pics of figures I meant to as well the last few months, but the gmod ragdoll physics of the house started up again and the entire setup kept trying to explode and fly off the boxes despite the items not weighing too much.

Should probably have swapped the faceplates for some photos. The hair being this weird braid thing will likely make the second one I get for custom shit if I do sometime a bit harder to modify.

I like how they're retooling things this time, but it'll likely be out of my price range. What IS in my price-range however is the AStoys unnoficial EVA prime that seems to be almost on par with the standard studio series 86 prime I will never be able to afford at it's fucking asking price.

Those are cat ears lmao but yeah they're weirdly placed/sized. I think it's because theyw ere trying to also do some kinda pikachu shit (which is literally electric rat).

Also I don't think you understand how small this thing is. I could theoretically give it some kind of bag but that'd look weird. There's a bunch of stickers to add extra mecha detail stuff to it that I kind of wish were waterslides given how I've seen the stickers look when applied compared to the stock photos that seem to be waterslides or tampos. I'll likely eventually still try putting them on.

By the way the bag is this one from a small yet generally popular company that makes modular 4 inch tall figures. It's usually on a custom guy I made from the parts on here, but I realized they were generally the same size.

I had better pics but they were way too dark or blurry. The flash made the background too dark, though. Everything exploded on me again between shots and the pose got fucked up a bit.

This one was the closest to not being unusable
