I knew Lockdown would be used for this mold. Can't say I'm a huge fan.
View attachment 5795372View attachment 5795373
The "junkion" figures that this mold started out with were just a blatant pre-tool for lockdown, which makes me kinda surprised they not only locked him behind a walmart exclusive set but ALSO didn't retool the windows at all from the junkion windows.
This shit also happened with earth mode hound getting locked behind an exclusive box set thing while the other guys based on his sculpt got normal releases. Sucks when this happens honestly.

The Walmart figures aren't a set, you can buy them individually and they have normal boxes unlike the one Hound comes in which is just a brown box. This okay if you're into customizing or selling loose figures, but that makes 1% and 10% of the hobby.

TFCon LA was a bit of a let down in terms of 3rd Party reveals. Majority were ones already shown off at other TFCons except for XTransbots Ironhide/ Ratchet and Fan's Toys Ultra Magus, Scrapper and Hook, and their own take on Ironhide and Ratchet which looks better than X-Transbots and should have a better transformation and better QC

Only thing I like is the side which loos rather good, his height, and the amount of accessories for those who care about such things (To me they're baggies fodder) Alt mod for Ratchet looks like it'll be good

Ultra Magnus looks great and he'll just be an armour kit of sorts for the White Optimus Prime which personally I prefer. I love how the vehicle mode is a throwback to the diaclone figure.

I prefer the extra chunk on this Ratchet/ Ironhide over the X-Transbots. Less panelly. Top doesn't seem to come off to form the skids the original toy turned into, which I again prefer.

Full Testshot of Fans Hobby Tidal Wave should be shown at TFCon Toronto

Takara is giving us an MP Ginrai. Looks decent from what can be seen in the blurred images. Lanky like the KFC Toys version.
The TMNT Party Wagon Turtles. They're headmaster so you'll have to buy four. At least you can give Animated Prowl some weapons.

For 2025, January well be getting two Aerialbots (Nice to see better combiners), two of the Primes (Solus and Prime), Armada Red Alert, and the Fallen, that quarters main Leader.
July will see a single Bruticus figure but it's Swindle so that's fine. RID Skyebyte. Two Primes, Alchemist (a Deluxe), and Onyx Prime a Leader. We'll also see another Rescuebot character, Heatwave.
October we'll finally get a Venom. Two more Aerialbots, an Alpha Trion and a Micronus (who's a deluxe), and a voyager Flatline. I hope he's still a truck.

This July we should be seeing our first Devestator combiner limb with Bonecrusher and Scrapper. Then in October we'll see Mixmaster and Scavenger.

I like how the Turtle Van is more on model to the one from the cartoon, styling and all than the 300 dollar NECA one. If it didn't have a bunch of the little transformers hinges all over it you'd probably just assume it was some collector statue of it.

I prefer Super7's even with it's flaws. Stickers need better glue.

I'd be fine with super7's if not for the fucking price. Stuff of similar size and detail to both the Super7 and Neca turtle vans is like infinitely cheaper to buy . This stupidly high upmark for anything just being rom a"collector line"has gotten so common I was absolutely fucking shocked when I saw the 6 inch scale skeletor ship Mattel was making for their recent filmation figure line was only 40 dollars. "Collector line upmark" also affects stuff like the g1 reissues from the entirety of the last decade they keep removing features from each time they release them. Only time they ever "added" something it was just either accessories or mild tooling stuff like the cartoon bumblebee face and g1 optimus' ratchets.

Anyways, until I actually see these in stock anywhere I'm just gonna ssume they're more "scalper exclusives" given how everywhere is sold out on preorders again.

Mattel can get price cuts because they're a large business with more stuff being made. Super7 can't get that sort of deal. That doesn't include the logistics of getting smaller quantity of goods shipped overseas or in some cases being able to piggy back off of other companies. Luckily they're far cheaper than getting anything from the Four Horsemen. I have quite a bit of stuff preordered from them and I think the only expensive thing right now is the bear. surprisingly. I'm used to getting mounts for over $300 and figures for over $100 due to low amount of figures getting made. I'd pay even more if it was third parties. I used to want to customize them but there was no way I'm spending $100 just to customize a 6" figure. $50-65 that's a bit more doable for a highend figure. At least when I customize a Transformer it's just a new paint job, maybe a new head and work on the gaps. Maybe new guns if I can find them.

By the way, the Super7 Party Wagon was cheaper getting it from the United States than buying it here by $50

I also pre-ordered four the the Wagons for $270 so they're not sold out already. Would be nice if they could show me what the packaging looks like so I would know if I want one sealed.

They did an updated reissue/remake of the eternia playset and it was a 500 something dollar pre-order exclusive. The grayskull and snake mountian remakes are also 80 dollars each. The prices for all these things is still roughly around the same regardless of company size which is why the $40 price for the ship was a surprise to me due to it being literally made to hold 3 figures very comfortably. The hasbro gi joe O ring reissues these last few years were nearly 30-ish and the sky striker was a $300 dollar haslab when it had been reissued a few years prior for $40. The "collector upmark" is not tied to just small companies though smaller companies are the ones I'm more willing to pay higher for, though nowhere around the over $200 price some have started charging consistently. When stuff is in the $20-$60 range I can take it but even then I'm selective about what I get due to me basically having not that much money. When possible I've tried getting supplies to make cheaper replacements for the insanely up marked stuff.

The recent weird legal limbo one of the Gi joe factions has been in is kind of interesting. Super7 has been making figures of the red shadows variants of Cobra characters while officially licensed by Hasbro, but the name of the faction is now apparently kind of owned now by a smaller third party company that's remaking the roboskull vehicle and some various troopers on their own, and then The guys making monster force/eagle force are making figures of the characters but with heads scrambled for supposed legalese reasons, and then some of the gi joe /action force names are being hoarded by the guys making the 6 inch scale valaverse figures. It's a lot more retardedly complicated than the stuff going on with Transformers where the main weird legal shit you'll run into is a character having their faction slapped in front of their name or a slight misspelling of their name.

Really liked the red shadows "HYENA" variant of the HISS tank ever since I found out about it back in the day but it's so fucking scalped online due to being a "rare" regional exclusive that I've been contemplating doing something insane like buying the recent expensive over $100 but constantly discounted to $40-$30 crossover Megatron HISS and painting it red before grabbing some toyhax stickers for the 25th HISS based on that one. If I play my cards right there I'd probably end up spending only 50 dollars.

Wondercon showed off Swoop. I have my doubts I'll be able to find him here. It was a miracle I was able to find a Snarl let alone two here so I guess I'll have to preorder that too.

The only Dinobot I was able to get was Shattered glass Grimlock and that was an online exclusive. I've seen a lot of G2 grimlock and one of the QC issue dinobots more often since around the end of last year but other than that it's always been a one time sighting when I've had no money for it.

Dinobots are hard to come by up here but other voyagers are not. I also find it hard to find Leaders and Commander class. Titan's tend to warm up the bottom shelf since they're too expensive here. Deluxes are even more common than scouts so I can normally get a few for customizing. Walmarts here are also usually a miss because their shelves are rarely restocked. Toy's R'Us isn't bad but I prefer going there for Lego's. Good place for Voyagers though and any newest releases.

Looking good. Needs better bombs though but that's an easy fix.

Should give more swords but that's okay. Just giving us two is good.

those wings are kinda tiny
Technically similar in length to the G1 toy but they're thicker than the G1 toy so they appear smaller. I would personally would rather have slimmer wings. I guess they could be going for G1 cartoon as those were a little thicker.
