New Haslab announced and it's motherfucking OMEGA PRIME from RID. Full featured Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus, UM's gunpack is now its own weaponizer figure, and a refined super combined form with better kibble management. Stretch goals are the Matrix blade which is like, two fucking feet tall, some fancy display stands, and an as-of-yet-undisclosed third tier (because they didn't say there was a third tier but they're totally going to do a third tier like the last few Haslabs).

Even funnier is the sheer amount of bitching from BOTH the Bay-film camp and the diehard G1 camp. The former are assmad because they aren't getting useless bullshit like DOTM Devcon and the latter are mad it's not Primus or somebody who got an update relatively recently like Devestator or Omega Supreme.

I'm mad finding this out because haslab is now just glorified "box set preorder" type shit now and has been for a while. These are two figures that could have been sold separately as commender class figures. I'm probably going to miss them like every other haslab because the combo pack markup makes it ludicrous pricewise, wanted deathsaurus, couldn't afford, wanted star saber, couldn't afford, wanted HISS, couldn't afford. Unicron? BAHAHAHAHAH!! SHOVE YOUR 500 DOLLAR BEACHBALL WITH UNPAINTED TEETH UP YOUR UGLY ASS!
At least there hasn't been as much last minute corner cutting like what happened with Unicron tothe point it looked nothing like the stock photos, just standard QC issues on some copies of haslab shit.

Seriously, it's cheaper to buy the original figures used and they have about the same articulation and proportions, unless this haslab means those are gonna get scalped out the ass now.
I just hope Optimus scales with scourge if this gets funded so people don't feel fucking cheated.

EDIT: I forgot to mention I have a preorder for an expensive figure for once locked in, as disappointed as I am with how it was handled, Tidal Wave. Sure he's closer to game scale than anime scale despite being the anime colors, sure his head is based on a common animation error where he's got a freaky massive chin instead of a chinstrap, sure he has to fucking PARTSFORM for some fucking reason to get into ship mode so they could add a shitty base mode, but fuck I missed out on every other titan and commander I've wanted over the years, if there's ever one to be the one it's gotta be the big guy as shit as some aspects of this iteration are. Scalpers are fucking ravenous and already hawking it for 300-500 on ebay despite it not even being out yet and still up for preorder online. Keeping some money on the side so I don't get hit with weird sideline shit.

Hopefully there's no limit again on how many you can pick up. I'm more interested in these than Deathsaurus.

I'm not entirely sure about that. In the livestream, they did a lot of talking about various things incorporated into the new design that ensure that common problems with both figures as well as Omega Prime were addressed, such as Prime getting a 'girdle' of sorts for more torso strength, Omega Prime having better kibble management (and designed by the same guy who designed the original one) so UM's forearms aren't flopping about on the back, and the fact there are no rubber tires this time that inevitably will rot off.

It's the budget that had to go into designing stronger combination points to avoid the pitfalls of the original figures that I think dictated this needed to be Haslab instead of a mass release over a far longer period of time. Otherwise the lesser budget likely would result in one of the figures being horribly gimped for the sake of one form or another. Plus, they did a size comparison to a fully kitted out VS - Omega Prime is bigger by like a inch on top of a far more complex combination than what VS has going on.

I also think the last time they re-issued a Fire Convoy/Ultra Magnus Omega Prime encore straight up also was $250?

I'd rather pay for quality over a mass release that would be no better than the old release in terms of issues.
Not sure about the price, but they were a repackage version of the Universe ones in 2005. 2018 they got reissued again in Japan I believe.
Going to need at least one more of these for myself to repaint Optimus Prime into his Black God Fire Convoy colour. Luckily Black Ultra Magnus is easier to do.
There's only six colours to mainly worry about him. Optimus has more large area's of silver and some offwhite.

So for whatever reason the mini yolopark "kits" I bought off amazon are all coming from different warehouses in different states so I'm having to wait for the other ones still but Megatron came yesterday. Really nice little figure, surprisingly a little less posable than the Buluke/Bloks blind box model kit I got used but it makes up for that in heft and size. It's really close to being that hypothetical "deluxe scaled g1 megatron" I rambled about wanting way back when I got that used Galvatron several years ago. For scale reference the thing is a little bit taller than Legacy elita 1.
I'm glad I got them off the official amazon store and not their normal webstore because if I did the latter despite it technically being a bit cheaper (not counting the more expensive shipping) they came from nearby amazon warehouses instead of being shipped over from Hong kong through customs over the span of like a month or so.

What's mildly irritating to me about the yolopark situation despite the decent quality of them is every fucker who's reviewed them online got them for free due to being internet reviewers. No, I will NOT use your 5 percent off coupon. I will NOT use your affiliate link. if I'm not getting at least 10 percent off I'm going to just go to the source myself and buy them full price because I'm gonna be paying near that price anyways.

I'll take pics later, camera batteries are dead and I'm too busy/lazy to replace them right now. I think another one of these I ordered is gonna come today.

i have been sitting on the idea of buying 5 omega primes and then selling them on release to even out the cost of a single one, the problem is: 1) i need to wait a full year at least 2) it's 1250 dollaradoos at once.
woukd it be called scalping? it needs the numbers to get to the stretchgoals, and everyone knows the get on price and time only is during this period.

It's what companies like Bigbadtoystore is doing. I'm getting three though two are for me as I want to repaint one and one is for my son. That's $1050 here plus shipping, taxes and customs. Each one is under a different name though and being sent to different places to cut down on some fees.

My main issue with Chris McFeely is that you can get the same amount of information just reading TFWiki, but that's a common issue with most lore channels out there for any franchise.
I remember when he used to regular on a UK-centric TF message board, I forget what the website was called but I think they're probably defunct by now after they lost all their user data for like the third time, but judging by how he's walked back on some of the opinions he had back then, versus what he's saying now, I can't help but to feel he too has fallen under the bale influence of the likes of David Willis and his circlejerk.

Plus isn't being able to not use TotalFaggotwiki a good thing?

Can't say I'm a fan of the legs and feet but everything above the waist looks good. This just seems like the way they'll do legs and feet for now on since it's become pretty common

There are of course people complaining about not getting a toon accurate head but fuck them, that animation model was trash as it was too generic. This is at least an update to the toy. They want film accurate stuff, buy MP.

Found out about the cel shaded "comic" shockwave and grimlock, but he shockwave specifically color wise is more g1 cartoon than comics IMO. Kind of weird he's a 40 dollar voyager, hopefully that doesn't end up being the default voyager price in a few months. Noticed a lot of places marked them up to $35-$37 a few months ago there's no fucking reason for the prices to be spiking this fucking fast. At least the cel shaded megaton and optimus from afewyears back won't be the only ones anymore (save for buzzworthy reissue kup that had the partly cel chest window). These are also gonna look weird amidst the other "comics" based releases they've been doing the last few years because none of those had cel shading effects save for Impactor who had a very subtle bit of shading deco on his lower chest.

LOL We're paying $36.99 for deluxes here plus 13% tax.
Colour on Shockwave is fine if they're going for issue 6, issue 5 he's far darker.

If you have flee markets or toy swap meets near by those are great places to go for Transformers and stuff at a decent price usually. The smaller the better because it's harder for them to lie about stuff like having KO figures being passed off as real as it hurts everyone there.

Thanks for the advice, but there isn't anything like that nearby. At the very least I don't think the fossilizers were KOed to a large degree.

They might change the name to something like "Popculture faires" or something similar. Never hurts to look. Facebook Marketplace has also been pretty good for collections, books, games, and miniatures. Also decent for farm raised eggs, honey and even waterdown honey that's perfect for mead that's dirt cheap.

A seller a friend buys from had the set of 3 deluxes complete for $45 so I snagged that. The Facebook Marketplace can have some good deals, it's just a crapshoot what you find on there.

Old Province was good for TTRPG's, video games, and Warhammer miniatures but was usually rather crap for figures. Great for comics if one is into those still (I got out of Western Comics decades ago). New Province is good for everything but that's also due to more people and less traveling Two hours I can hit up several cities and towns More conventions that I'm not banned from for having an opinion or calling out bullshit. There's also always people wanting to leave the province for others thinking there's better jobs out there so they sell whole collections of stuff.
