Fucking copy paste started to fail this week when trying to copy cells from SharePoint Excel, Do the needful and fix saar. Boils my blood just pondering how such simple feature may malfunction, that's piss easy to regression test through automation.

He lost all of his other hobbies and started saying how he hated women and that femboys were better. He was not like this before Arch Linux. He stopped watching his favorite shows and playing games and having interests in music. He used to go up and talk to women, now he fears them.

Troonix is objectively fucking dangerous and I was only using it because my 10 year old wifi card worked better with Garuda Linux, after he told me what he did I uninstalled it and formatted my drives back to NTFS and bought a $60 wifi card to use on Windows 11 LTSC.

Fear Troonix, it is the fastest way to catch gender and lose all your hobbies and become an absolute fucking discord degenerate if you let it latch onto your soul.

The multitude of stories like this I have heard is why I'm grateful my first exposure to Linux/FOSS was on the enterprise end and not the hobbyist end.

I have no great expectations for the jeet vibe coders of M$, so believe it when you see it, but I don't think there's anything inherently stopping the company from reducing Windows 11 idle RAM usage by at least 500 MB.

Reminder that Windows 11 is intended to work on PCs with 4 GB of single-channel memory and eMMC storage, and that these PCs were being sold before the mempocalypse to grandma, when memory was cheap. Even an average 100 MB reduction in memory usage would be helpful.

Genuinely there is use for Troonix even for normies, but unless you use SteamOS you will spend a ton of time tinkering and troubleshooting for things like fling trainers to work or mods and wine DLL overrides even in Ubuntu or Mint

But that is why the only distro that is 100% guaranteed to work is by Valve, SteamOS which is made by a multinational megacorporation with arguably as much influence as Microsoft and isn't even FOSS

There are so many modding tools and programs that just do not work on other distros, like Mako or LSFG-vk because SteamOS has metadata it gives those programs to just work better

Valve is the only hope for Linux to ever be standardized and just work for people who aren't obese tranny chasers because shit like the appinage version of FXFloorboard from January 1 2026

FXFloorboard being relatively new but having ABI breakage is literally what @Slav Power rambles about, I had to run Boss Tone studio in a windows VM to get my amp software working

I eventually bit the bullet and just spent $60 on a new wifi card because I am just using windows for normal people tasks anyways

Until SteamOS works with Nvidia, just use LTSC windows or its not going to work for your average person

The vast majority of the lunatics are a small part of the community. They happen to be the loudest, unfortunately. I don't think it represents most of the hobbyist/professional-turned-home users like myself.

A lot of hobbyists are people using Raspberry Pis, trying out gaming on whatever is the latest gaming distro and setting up Home Assistant stuff and NAS use cases, and you will rarely hear about them because if they post somewhere, it is to ask specific questions or work on particular things.

Generally, the bigger problem with FOSS is political activism / purity spiral bullshit. You can see this happening around Omarchy. Discussions about the distro have devolved into an obligatory spiel about "far right taking over open source". These people are making the exact same point as you and others do on here, and instead of "troons", they say "far right", "Nazis", etc.

There is plenty of standardisation in the Linux space. When people make statements like this, they really have no idea what they are talking about.

Most Linux distros other than the package manager are literally the same software, in the same directories, with the same config files, etc.

Often differences are nothing more than "Debian has version X.Y of the kernel, and Fedora has version X.Z" or "This ~/.bin path is preconfigured in ~/.profile if it exists."

Outside of specific distros that eschew these standards (which are niche), things are being increasingly standardised.

The vast majority of hardware just works in Linux. The vast majority of software can be installed simply.

Mods and other specialist niche software don't work properly because they aren't something their users/maintainers are focused on.

Valve doesn't have anywhere near the influence of Microsoft. Most people outside of PC gaming have no idea Valve/Steam exists.

There are tons of areas on github or reddit where before you can even interact with the community you must communicate some pro fag message to the moderators or acknowledge that this "is a trans safe space" or something revolting. Or forums where the main topics are some video game or sport but there are entire subsections of the forum dedicated to spreading some pro fag message or encouraging degeneracy. Go to practically any professional sports related subreddit and the banners are all rainbow fag themed. Faggotry is more important than the actual sport. Linux is just another completely infested online community.

The biggest power user of reddit at one point was Ghislaine Maxwell. The tech community is just as infiltrated. Where the largest game mod sites or forums are dominated by the most severely mentally ill lunatics. And sites that should be about browsers or operating systems are overloaded with politics and social justice spewing.

Why are you bringing this up on these boards? When I am in these spaces (I had to work and exist in what I call "Diversity Corp", which loved all this stuff). You use their shit and don't bother interacting with anyone in there other than basic shit like troubleshooting. If you know your stuff, people gravitate towards you anyway that aren't retarded.

I am a power user and have 0 issue with Troonix and troubleshooting, but I recently ran DeGDID on my PC and decided Troonix was too idealistic and impractical for a guy who will take a week away from his PC at times

The sheer and overwhelming amount of Mental Illness in troonix, beyond just trannyism and gender, is staggering. Paranoia, schizophrenia, autism and strange non-woke IT neckbeards who are noxious in their own way

K0, the guy behind Talon Debloater and is super privacy centric,gives the best answer for why he does not reccomend Troonix as a pentester. Even power users have reasons to just stay on Windows like Hyper V and Backwards compatibility.

Windows Central: The Copilot+ PC brand is dead: Microsoft and PC makers quietly pull back on tarnished Windows 11 AI PC branding (archive)

At this year's Snapdragon Summit, I had the chance to ask Surface CVP Brett Ostrum about the lack of Copilot+ PC branding on its recent Surface PCs, and he confirmed that "these are not called Copilot+ PCs. They do meet all the requirements of our previous bar for what Copilot+ devices are. We still lean into the narrative around AI on the edge and being able to have a hybrid solution out there."

I've also asked Qualcomm's SVP of compute, Kedar Kondap, about his thoughts on the usage of the Copilot+ PC branding. He told me that "the purpose for Copilot+ PCs was to be able to deliver [NPU] experiences. So it was to define a certain category of devices with a certain bar and metric, like for example, a 45 TOPS NPU ... So from that perspective, it's more offering the same experiences, probably without just using [Copilot+ PC] terminology now."

The whole Copilot+ branding was just a huge waste of money, they tried pushing laptops with those useless Win+Shift+F23 macro keys, where two years ago everything made it seem like a good idea, but now that Microsoft is realizing that they need to reinvent the whole AI bet two years into the gig and nearing the whole thing going tits up (Nadella is openly talking about the shortcomings of AI, it's capabilities and cost effectiveness), it turns out that if you want to do local purpose-built models for SNCA, you don't need all that expensive branding crap and paying out of the ass to get hardware manufacturers design the keyboards with it in mind, you can just ship an update and call it a day.
