This is a really interesting thread. Lots of good shit; content condensed into a pure form. I am looking forward to watching the video series posted a few pages back.

If a digital item being "in stock" is what persuades a person, then they deserve what they get. Even the NFT art people have license to mock Star Citizen backers.

Does anyone know if these Sunk Cost Galaxy videos are still being produced? The guy makes a great video.

I would buy a cringe $60 spaceship if the game was in permanent development hell as a grief simulator like SS13 is.

The SC community is in complete shambles, with many abandoning all hope of anything resembling a real game coming out within their lifetimes.
 
I spent £35 pre-ordering Squadron 42/Star Citizen back in, I don't even remember, 2016? Where's my fucking game? This was the worst financial decision of my life.

It's an interesting phenomenon that the backers are willing to put up with this shit, although I went to the Star Citizen reddit and it seems to be in revolt. I wonder why now?

Some of the haters are massive cows too. A lot of them initially came from Something Awful and were part of the ironybro 1000-posts-a-day crowd of terminally online losers. Some of them were whales who put down hundreds of dollars in advance and then insisted that they were obsessively following the game development because it's totally hilarious bro, and not because Chris Roberts robbed them blind with his sweet lies. They'll believe any accusation as long as it's a negative comment about anybody involved in Star Citizen. I find they have lower standards of evidence than the elevated denizens of kiwidom and tend to just regurgitate second-hand gossip until it becomes "true because everybody knows".

It is like the people in charge realized: " whatever, it is not as if we have to deliver on any of our promises anymore to continue milking these saps."

The church of RSI need not justify the Star Citizen religion as the devout cult member will continue to give their tithe until the day they die.

Probably because they're blaming the stagnating development and dwindling interest on people having the audacity to have expectations. It's way more tone deaf than saying they're not going to keep to a schedule anymore because they don't want to disappoint people, it's like if DSP had to do a press release for a crowdfunded game.
