All of this predator catching reeks of entrapment. How can anyone be prosecuted for doing this stuff?

Firstly, entrapment, legally speaking, only applies when the police are doing it.

Secondly, entrapment involves *inciting* someone to commit a crime that they wouldn’t otherwise have done. Catchers don’t initiate the contact, and should be up front about the age, do not initiate sexual talk etc.

Police can also operate “stings” in this same way without it being entrapment, and prosecutions do happen.

During the first TCAP sting there was no police involvement at all and the people they caught all had their charges dropped and cases dismissed by the judge, who literally cited illegal entrapment as the reason for it

They frequently do though

They also frequently do. The groups TCAP had working for them were guilty of both of those things and many other violations and flat out lied and tried to hide it by faking a harddrive failure when ordered to turn over chatlogs. Those same logs later appeared in edited form on their website

Point is, none of these groups are above board and they all do sketchy shit. Thats what happens when you get into vigilante behavior

I've been enjoying People vs. Preds catches lately. He's developed rapport with several departments, with the Glendale PD getting extra kudos for their cooperation. Now with over 500 catches, and 200+ convictions ... das a lot of babyrapers called out on the 'net.

But his latest catch was extra enjoyable because as it is wrapping up, the HR lady tells the predafile to hide inside the store until the police come, so PvP starts yelling "YO! a guy who works here likes little children!" and a woman walks up to him and says "you mean Fritz? I used to work here, and he knew I was 17, and he creeped on me. LOOK AT THESE MESSAGES!" :story:

His catch #505 was also LOUD, because once PvP realized the college cops were protecting the predafile professor, he yelled his way out of the building, leading to a reddit thread about the event.

ColoradoPedPatrol is bitchen today on live about a person who once acted as a moderator and decoy, who then phonebooked everyone involved in his organization (700 people) ... apparently the catty interpersonal drama between two decoys has gone nuclear.

Doesn't this guy have a lot of personal problems?

Yeah. He’s been in fist fights with a few, shall we say, detractors.
I do like Tommy, he’s been doing some great catches recently, but there’s always this cycle of building up success and viewers, then there’s some kind of drama with volunteers, a big blow up or snakening or his channel gets nuked and he’s back to square 1.

Today (which is a monthly youtube payout date), BlackBiden, AKA Big Bad Wolf went on a rant (which might be enjoyable for haters to hear) about most of the more successful catchers, calling them clickbaity and content seeking. He isn't wrong, and I fully support him and his decoys catches. Wish he had more success, fame, and fortune.

I've noticed PvP has a knack for luring educators into his trap. Good for him.

Indian-Origin Professor Caught In Sting Operation While Trying To Meet A 14-Year-Old Boy
An Indian-origin associate professor at the University of California, San Diego, is facing scrutiny after a viral video showed him being confronted in an alleged online child predator sting. According to San Diego Ville, the sting was conducted by the California-based group People vs. Predators. Widely shared social media footage shows activists confronting Nisarg Jaydeep Shah at a supermarket, where he allegedly intended to meet a 14-year-old boy.

In the video, activist Tim Johnson, who claims to have exposed over 500 suspected predators, confronted Mr Shah about explicit conversations allegedly held on Grindr. Screenshots shared by the activist purportedly show Mr Shah claiming to be 28 and engaging in sexually explicit chats, even after the decoy mentioned being "bout to be 15."

During the confrontation, Nisarg Shah repeatedly expressed remorse, saying he feels "horrible, the worst I've ever felt" and calling his actions "abhorrent." In extended footage outside the store, Mr Shah admitted to bringing personal lubricant and a douche, claiming they were to help the person he believed he was meeting "get ready" and "prep." He repeatedly said, "I f**ked up," and suggested, "I need to get help or something, maybe."

A photo reportedly showed Mr Shah in handcuffs, though SanDiegoVille stated he was only briefly detained and released at the scene.

San Diego Police have confirmed an ongoing investigation. SDPD Lt Travis Easter said, "We are aware of the incident and our ICAC unit is actively investigating it. There have not been any charges made yet."

"Our ICAC unit will typically not work with civilians acting as undercover operatives and does not condone such activities because the training involved in conducting these investigations consists of hours of intense legal training," Mr Easter was quoted as saying by SanDiegoVille.

Nisarg Shah, a UC San Diego associate professor specialising in immunoengineering and nanoscale materials, holds a Ph.D. from MIT and a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard. He teaches and leads a research lab at UCSD.

In response to the allegations against its faculty member, UC San Diego committed to fully cooperating with authorities, emphasising its dedication to campus safety and a zero-tolerance policy for sexual misconduct.

For those unaware? Entrapment attaches as soon as potential charges do.

Even if the police weren't aware of what the "Catchers" were doing? If they try to use that evidence to prosecute? It has to pass the same bar as any they would likewise use. And encouraging someone to commit a crime they didn't want to do and THEN calling the police for charging? Is the same in the law's eyes as if the cops had done it.

Otherwise? The police could just have regular citizens do them "a favor" and slip into your house and rifle through your stuff because "they aren't a cop, they don't need a warrant".

I could be here all day citing examples and exceptions and whatnot, but, suffice it to say there's established caselaw on where regular people or police informants become police actors , and at that point? All rules and regulations on police behavior vis-a-vis civil/legal rights? Apply to the actors as well.

At best? The police could've used TCAP's evidence as probable cause to start their own independent investigation. But, they couldn't just put a rubber stamp on everything TCAP had collected and slide it across the Judge's desk.

it doesn't work that way.

The moaning about how the system "doesn't help" is frequently ignorant that it CAN'T help in the ways laypeople think it can without breaking a lot of legal guidelines.

Skeeter Jean was on Fox News after nabbing two preds at an anime convention (one of which had a concealed carry license). Skeeter mentions he hires armed security to handle potentially violent situations. And, he speaks so monotonously, if I didn't know better, I'd say he was on benzos.

I wouldn't be surprised if he is. He's also an idiot who keeps doing the same shit despite being warned multiple times, including by the cops not to do it. He's claimed to be involved in non existent lottery contests to gain entry to peoples houses and to get them to call up predators to get them to come over, using the names of actual companies - this is all kinds of illegal, a violation of state lottery laws, fraud and if there ended up ever being a serious incident in one of these places he'd be in deep, deep shit. He's also posed as a fake uber driver, picking, done fake test drives of 'prizes' that he claimed the predators won, which the cops repeatedly warned him - on video no less, will catch him felony kidnapping charges if the predator makes an issue of it. To say nothing of the whole using a major companies name to do such a thing can easily catch you a C&D letter at best and a lawsuit and charges if they get pissed off at you for using their name in vigilante shit. Not to mention the whole putting hidden cameras in a bathroom and recording the predator getting naked and bathing. Note that placing these kinds of cameras in to record people in a bathroom, even in your own home is a felony and will land you on the registry as a sex offender yourself if the person you are recording makes a police matter of it. You don't ever, ever put a hidden camera inside a bathroom for any reason. Not to mention the whole carrying around ID cards he made up himself, calling himself the 'predatorial investigation unit' and flashing said ID to idiot workers to get access to places he isn't supposed to be because said staff think hes some kind of actual cop at first. He damn near got arrested at a walmart not too long ago for doing that and did catch a permaban for it

That said, i'd love to know how the fuck he managed to get an armed security guard involved in this shit. Those guys have to be licensed, both as a guard and for use of force and one universal truth with security licensing is an explicit prohibition on being involved with any kind of vigilante activity. Its the same in every state and every country you can think of for civil and criminal liability reasons. I know that because this was explained to me in no uncertain terms when I got licensed as a security guard. If there is ever a shooting with these guys, or an assault that somebody gets injured by one of these guys, no matter how justified, the guard is going to be so deeply and utterly fucked its not even funny

Jay from DAP (the one who got shot) has been arrested (for assaulting a babyraper) in Florida.

I can't say i'm surprised. You can bet he fucked that case for the DA. You can equally bet he won't learn a thing from this and will get out thinking he's some kind of victim, double down on the stupidity and do something even stupid next time

If he didn't learn not to do retarded shit after it got him shot then he never will

Alex Rosen (as his locals supports have already seen) is in the middle of an Alaskan tour predcatchin, and today during an onscene arrest celebrated that he has had a babyraper arrested in each of the 50 states! :achievement:

The babyraper he caught in Alaska yesterday was extra yucky. He molestered his sister in Alabama, and would be on the sex offender registry if he still lived there... so he moved to Alaska where he could escape his shame (and molest kids online).

He just did a live from Utah, caught a thoroughly disgusting retard predator. Even got him to show the cops the cp on his phone.

They then have to wait around for an hour while the police interview the tard and his also tard wife (which, presumably means they won’t get arrested). Alex, bored, phones up the Alaska police to ask about the babyrapers, leaves a message along with his number.
Chat spergs out about doxing himself, Alex responds that his number has been given out so much that it’s devalued and he doesn’t care.

Moments later, his phone rings. It’s the detective calling him back! We got ‘em both, it was solicitaton and uh some other charges. Obvious prank call.
I figure Alex is playing along and is about to spell out a rude email address or something.

But no, he appears to have bought it, is delighted, but next calls the jail to confirm the preds are booked in. Of course, they aren’t. Disappointed, Alex ends the stream.

Not super bright, that time.

3 catchers known as “Oklahoma Predator Prevention” have been arrested on felony charges.

There had to have been a different reason. The guy momentarily fainted and banged his head but clearly no damage was done. They can't be hit with felony charges cause some guy got lightheaded and fainted when he was told he was going to be arrested. That would make it open season for incidents with cops while arresting people and businesses telling a thief they were having the cops called on them for stealing shit. Something else must have happened

I wonder how many stings they ruined and how many nonces they let walk by their false morality and attempts to pretend to do good?

Anyone know where to get good stats on total amount of sex crimes involving pedo offenders per year in USA? Its not very easy to find for some reason. And it would be interesting to see if there has been a big increase since the Predator Catchers started getting a bunch of people arrested.

From an article:
They were charged with unlawful restraint and exposing the victim to a substantial risk of serious bodily injury. The charge is a third-degree felony in Texas, which carries a maximum punishment of 10 years imprisonment and a $10,000 fine.
Unlawful restraint so whatever happens after that is on them. I wouldn't be surprised if they're making examples out of online pedo catchers. Jay Carnicom from DAP had an outstanding warrant in Texas when he was scooped up in Florida.
