It's not like anyone was complaining about her design before, so why did he go to the effort of changing it? Is it just to appeal to the reboot crowd, or has he genuinely fallen into the "Classic Lara was too sexualized and unrealistic" mindset? You'd think a fangame of all things would be free of this crap.

'booters definitely complained but they'll complain about anything. But he added reboot's highlightable ledges feature for some "accessibility" points, so now even the game doesn't feel like old school TR...Yeah, it's optional but I hate any sort of pandering to reboot hos, fuck them.
And sadly, classic fandom is also full of woke trash who need some kind of feminist reason to like Lara and they love to draw her like She-hulk because they really hate when MEN find her attractive:

As for Nico's model, he based her on FMV Core Lara but he fucked up her proportions by nerfing her tits. Tiny waist and hips were important for a cartoony look, now she falls into uncanny valley territory because her head is too big. Actual artists pointed this out to him but got silenced because "How dare you complain about FREE stuff?!"
He really should have used underworld Lara instead:

This is her mocap model, Alison:

So unrealistic, lmao

They're apparently re-releasing the reboot trilogy in an all encompassing physical collection, except Tomb Raider Reboot 1 is supposedly not going to have the multiplayer just like how the Uncharted and Bioshock collection was.

Meaning you can earn all the achievements and unlock all the outfits without any bullshit now.

Lara Croft needs Japan-grade jiggle physics. Change my mind.

A couple of the games actually did have jiggle physics, though they weren't quite Japan level

He's clearly based the demos gameplay and style on the LAU Tomb Raiders, so he might as well go all the way and use a model from one like you suggest, especially if he's not sticking to the Classic Lara design anymore.

Why is it so hard to just let Lara be hot?
You know who really responded to old Lara? Women. Do you know who hate women? Women.
No game has done proper life like jiggle physics ever.
They have done it right, like DOAX2, it's just that they're running the physics at 100th of a realistic speed. If just the breast physics were sped up by 10,000% it would look natural. Plus DOAX2 had individual physics per breast, a technical marvel...

I'm serious with this and I think it can be traced back to an old very late 90's speed-hack for rippling surfaces, soft-body surfaces on the cheap so to say. The problem was not only that it had to be tied to the framerate, very tightly, but you also had to control how much force/energy could go into the physics simulation and limit how fast it could propagate. It had to be treated like a nuclear reactor because that shit could explode into a triangle soup of uncontrollable growth. During that time water geometry rippling wasn't particularly realistic either, it was kinda slow, it didn't react as it should(throw a big boulder into water and the center of the ripple will still be the size of a pebble, just so the water doesn't explode).

I think the moon-bounce titties comes from that, they don't have to do it that way anymore now that hardware is a thousand times better, but it became a style. Run it ~100 times faster and it would look more realistic.

Here, karate man(just watch for 30-40 seconds) breaks a block in normal speed and then in super-slomo. At 4000fps his hand is very unrealistic and is jiggling like Kasumi's ta-tas but in realtime you never see it.

I mean there is an upcoming anime coming out. If anime Croft is not on the same league as either Ryuko Matoi or Revy then I wouldn't be surprised.
It isn't actually being made in Japan. Apparently Netflix calls any animated series an anime, regardless of whether or not it's Japanese. I don't know why.

Then again, people still mistake Avatar: TLA as an anime when realistically its an American cartoon with anime aesthetic (similar art style used in other anime-style shows during that era such as Code Lyoko, Ben 10, Meglas XLR, Boondocks, Storm Hawks, etc.), so I don't really know anymore. Haha.

The anime is a direct sequel to the Soy Raider trilogy taking place after Shadow of the Tomb Raider so it's extremely unlikely that there will be any fanservice.
Pass anyway. It'll be forgotten like the 2018 film (along with the upcoming sequel to said 2018 film) and nobody would care, thank god. I'll just anticipate whatever groundbreaking magnum opus Friedberg and Seltzer would cook up next than wait for anything Tomb Raider related nowadays.

Angel of Darkness Lara had more jiggle physics. Almost close enough to Japan's physics anyway. Pretty much the only Tomb Raider game to have that use.

Realistically with those boobs she would have major back problems. I have no issue with her appearance in the old games however because, interestingly enough, she wasn't sexualized except the dumb nude raider shit. She is good to tease you like in the shower cutscene where she kills you. I've said it before, look at Bayonetta. She was designed by a woman. She is in complete control of her sexuality entirely, is extremely dominant, and she is a goddamn magic witch lol.

But I think there is definitely a way to include it and pander to both camps tbh. They could increase the size a little bit. Not like huge goth titty waifu size but big enough that it still is realistic.

I miss Keeley Hawkes as Lara. I would like a rerelease of the previous trilogy. (Only downside is batshit Greg Ellis is in it as Alistair but fun fact for Underworld he was mocapped by Crispin Freeman!) Also the gimp from Saints Row played the black guy whos name i forget.

The high point for that series besides Keeley was Kath Sousie and Grey Deslile Griffin as Amanda and Natla. They played their roles perfectly. (Having grown up hearing Kath in cartoons it was jarring yet extremely refreshing to hear her as a villain as she did in Dragon Age as Marjoline)
