As for Nico's model, he based her on FMV Core Lara but he fucked up her proportions by nerfing her tits. Tiny waist and hips were important for a cartoony look, now she falls into uncanny valley territory because her head is too big. Actual artists pointed this out to him but got silenced because "How dare you complain about FREE stuff?!"

The magazine cover clearly shows Lara being playful and having fun. She is in control of the situation and Duke knows his limits. "Look, don't touch" is very in Lara's character.

I get that video games "are supposed to be art" and that "all art has to be political" (and don't get me wrong, Metal Gear, CoD, GTA, and C&C are some of my favorite game series and they use political commentaries, respectively), but there is such thing as forcing political beliefs in something that's shouldn't be political at all, and it's very VERY annoying. The last few years has literally just been that. Oh, are we expecting to take someone seriously when someone does a stupid-ass "StopAsianHate" charity livestream and lecturing about racism and diversity by playing Shrek Smash N' Crash Racing on Twitch? That's the thing about people taking video games seriously and trying to combine and hammer down real-world current-year politics down our throats. Remember, politics is a very touchy subject while video games are meant to be escapism from the harsh reality that is the real world. Yet people seem to keep forgetting about this.

Ed, among many other scary hire-ups, using political bios on either Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and/or many other social media outlets is just plain unprofessional, especially when you're here developing a video game. Even the TR fanbase told this guy to fuck off made it seem hilarious because he's just a massive tard.

Anyway, if by any chance we get anymore fat versions of great video game characters, I guess there's fat Kratos, fat Max Payne or fat Master Chief. Sounds awful? Well, that's because it's as bad as having fat Lara or fat Drake.

Lara starting off as a fat nerdy chick who loses weight and becomes more athletic as she struggles to survive is way more interesting and realistic character development than "Lara spends on an island literally a day and somehow becomes amazing at killing zombies and gods".

It's sad because did the people behind the 2010s trilogy (or either the 2018 film reboot and the current comics) play the exact same games? It's completely obvious that they have not played the same exact games, and if I'm completely assuming, all they ever did was searched up the Lara Croft name and the TR franchise on Wikipedia, Google Images, and a few YouTube videos, and then there's your reboot series.

They played Uncharted and TLOU lol

But actually the Reboot was originally meant to be called Tomb Raider Ascension and feature post-Underworld Lara. The concepts are from 2009. "Darker and grittier" was becoming popular at the time, so they were following trends as more lighthearted tone of LAU didn't bring as much money as they hoped.
Apparently, the idea also came from Underworld's scrapped DLC where Lara was supposed to die (although, mostly likely, not permanently if you remember The Last Revelation)

edit: I was wrong on the last one. It was always meant to be a reboot. LAU model was used for testing the engine.

Something that was such a huge part of the first games was the Indiana Jones inspired puzzles, figuring out the environments, avoiding traps and exploration in general. I thought nu-Raider was fun enough but it's much more inspired by Uncharted(as mentioned above). Eidos, I know they're just the publisher but they cut the checks, did such a good job with the Deus Ex reboot, they even found a guy that naturally sounds like a 90's video game voice actor trying either too hard or too little. It's hard to tell with the original.
