I preordered it back in December because holy hell I'm not paying $70+ for a physical copy. Can't wait, though the clips of the enemies having health bars really gave me pause.
 
I've pre-ordered it on GOG after looking at all the preview content that's come out. It's good that they've focused on adding all the new stuff by enhancing the original engine code.

I'm surprised that the marketing has been so low key, but I think it should sell quite reasonably regardless from word-of-mouth. I know Embracer is some bizarre cancer overgrowth of acquisitions but this seems to be shaping up to be a nice move for the franchise altogether. Maybe they'll get a clue about what customers want.

If it sucks, well, GOG has a generous no questions asked refund policy for a month. 🤷‍♂️
 
Pleased to announce the New Zealand trick worked and I’ve plugged a good few happy hours into it. I find myself constantly switching back and forth between the old and new graphics to see the changes they made, which means I’m exploring the levels a lot more. It’s exactly what it promised, with a few little bells and whistles addded. Cut scenes are great to see what the people should actually look like when they talk. It’s a solid purchase.

The only marketing Embracer has done with it was appealing to the zoomer audiences with short formed TikTok videos showing gameplay footage, which is honestly disappointing. Back when Eidos was a sole developer/publisher, they knew how to market during the 90s and 2000s

It's nice that they kept everything uncensored, but DAMN is this so unneeded. The classic games were barely racist at all, and to slam this on top of what seems to be a perfectly good remaster of the first three games is just sad. Crystal Dynamics, even now, wants to shove their dumb new take on the series everywhere, even in places it doesn't belong.

Haha! That’s what that said! Tbh they only displayed it for like 3 seconds so I couldn’t get past the first paragraph before it disappeared. Almost like they’re embarrassed to have to put such a cringy hand wringing wall of wank in. Fucking hell though, that’s a couple points off straight away for shitty pandering. Gone from a solid 9.5/10 to a 7/10 in one fell swoop.
 
It looks promising, I'm very cynical with remakes and remasters these days, just as much as everyone else. Them proclaiming themselves as faggots is not necessary in that introduction. I could have came to that conclusion myself.

The only thing I can think of is the Polynesian cannibals in TR3. But even in the newer version’s woke number 3 they had cannibals so what the fuck is their problem

It's just Embracer using a dumbass disclaimer for le zoomer generation in hopes the devs over at CD don't get cancelled on social media, so they use their dumbass disclaimer as if this was an old Disney/Warner Bros./MGM cartoon from the 30s through 60s.

There were some uses of retarded in… I want to say Tomb Raider 3? It’s been a while, but I remember hearing it a bit in one of the early games.

Can anyone who’s played the remaster confirm if they censored it?

this. it's basically "oh yeah we totally say it's bad and no way we still think this way of course (to not get canceled), but we want to sell the game to people who like the original so take this message and fuck off"
 
Has there been any information on how the saves are going to work in this game? I haven't seen anything so far but I'm hoping it's going to be like the original PC version where you can save anywhere instead of those stupid save points the console versions had.
 
Rather looking forward to the Tomb Raider I-III Remasters just to piss on Crystal Dynamics. Remember: Crystal Dynamics HATE classic Lara. I don't think Embracer put this "disclaimer" out. It was CD themselves that did it.
