Did you play any of the Prince of Persia, Sands of Time trilogy?

TR: Legends/Anniversary has a lot in common gameplay-wise with those. (which is a good thing in my book because I loved those games)

Also I would like to recommend "En Garde" on steam. ($20) The protagonist has a Lara Croft spirit to her. Light platforming so far - more focused on combat in the style of the arkham series.

I understand that animation is a long process and all, but they really are teasing this for almost three years. I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't come out at all and it all of a sudden gets cancelled

Streaming platforms have a habit of not announcing release dates of any movie or show until the last minute. I'm hoping that it just gets cancelled through and through. It's like the people behind this were way too optimistic of this being a hit despite being announced for three long years. Animation may have taken a long time to process, but this shouldn't take this long.

I thought in the early news of the tomb raider anime there were rumors of the show tying the OG, Legend trilogy, and the new stuff all together? That was a while ago, maybe I misremembered, but I'm not surprised that this is the plan going forward.

Its literally not possible to merge anything. The first reboot trilogy were already remakes. And all three series (Classic, reboot, reboot 2) have their own backstories that don't match with each other.
 
I’d say I feel sorry for you Tomb Raider fans but all the things I liked got raped too so we’re all in the fun boat together.

I do remember how funny it was watching my friend from elementary school try to get nude Lara cheats he got off the internet to work. Old, great times that are never coming back and we’re all doomed….
 
Franchises such as Tomb Raider make me feel sad that giant corporations would give less and less of fucks about things we like, so they just stomp them to the ground as if they were cockroaches. It's the equivalent of seeing your pet that you loved forever getting put down despite not doing anything wrong. A correct way for corporations to do is to just let old dogs die in peace, but they can't and they won't. (:_(
