Fun reminder, CoD WWII brought in Anita Sarkeesian as a """"consultant"""" for that game... the one which would go on to feature Black Female Nazis and Lootcrates on Normandy beach. Anita was also jealously railing against Lara's digital D-cups for years prior to the manly redesigns.>hates vidya

Was there anything even remotely offensive about the depiction of tribes and shit in the games? (forgive me if it's been pointed out what they consider offensive in this thread already). Tomb Raider was probably the first gaming franchise that I got into and I feel like I learnt a lot more horrible things about Aztecs etc in school books. All I thought while playing the games was how cool everything looked. I imagine if I was from one of those cultures, I'd be pissed off that being based and setting up elaborate booby traps to stop tomb raiders from stealing my elder's artifacts was considered "offensive".Other devs are backing up CrystalDynamic's disclaimer

Pretty cool. I never played through the LAU games, so I have actually been playing Tomb Raider Legend.
Legend was awesome but Anniversary is the best in the LAU trilogy. Anniversary is the perfect recreation of the original three games.Pretty cool. I never played through the LAU games, so I have actually been playing Tomb Raider Legend.
Yeah, just minor stuff but between the cucked trigger warnings and censorship, it's trash just on principle alone. So this game is really censored?
But the worst part about the remastered trilogy is that, apart from its retarded disclaimer and its bullshit cucked censorship, it's still fucking boring. There is no replayable value afterwards and there are better ways to experience classic Tomb Raider. It just goes to show you that a product of both 90s and 2000s cannot survive in the current clown woke era from 2010s onwardYeah, just minor stuff but between the cucked trigger warnings and censorship, it's trash just on principle alone.

Sounds cool. When playing through franchises I play in order and don't play them back to back, so I look forward to playing Anniversary in a few months.Legend was awesome but Anniversary is the best in the LAU trilogy. Anniversary is the perfect recreation of the original three games.
You will not be disappointed. It's what the current Remastered Trilogy wished it wasSounds cool. When playing through franchises I play in order and don't play them back to back, so I look forward to playing Anniversary in a few months.![]()
It was rushed for a November release following after Squeenix's purchase to CD which explains why it was disappointing. The big flaw Underworld has was the unusual camera workUnderworld also has some interesting things going on as a progression I just never thought it was really that good.
I honestly hate Rise of and Shadow of. The two (as well as the 2018 movie) made me question my life choices as to why I liked the series in the first place.and the games since then, idk I don't hate the survivor trilogy as much as most old school TR fans but I wouldn't call them Tomb Raider games at all
I've never looked into Underworld's behind the scenes or development and that literally explained every problem I ever had with the game. it felt 'almost there but not quite' to me back when it was new and the times I've replayed it I had the same experience. for what it's worth I actually liked the wii version the most and assume the PS2 one is the same as it and have been meaning to play through it someday because the thing that makes the wii version inferior to the 360/PS3 version outside of graphics are shit controls and forced motion control sections. Rise of the Tomb Raider is when I made my peace with the fact Lara Croft was dead and buried and we would never see her again. like I had said, I like those games because I think they're pretty fun to play but I will say that with the caveat that I mainly play old shit and have never played the games they're ripping off and did so only out of brand loyalty so maybe they're really terrible in comparison and I would have no idea. I will say as a Tomb Raider fan there is literally nothing story or gameplay wise that appealed to anything that made the series what it is. they might as well have been called Samantha Small-Tits and the Terrorist Plot and it would have been the same games. they are not tomb raider games in any shape way or form.It was rushed for a November release following after Squeenix's purchase to CD which explains why it was disappointing. It's funny, because the 2013 game wasn't initially set to be a Tomb Raider game, but rather was set to be a tonally different, original IP back when it was in development in early-2011. But then the people over at Squeenix and its brad new yes men employees that ended up working for Crystal ended up slapping in the Lara Croft and Tomb Raider namesakes just to make sure that it's another reboot, but with an M-rated "dark and gritty" twist that is altogether a ripoff of other IPs (specifically shit like Uncharted, God of War, Hunger Games, Battle Royale, Saw, etc.).Rise of the Tomb Raider is when I made my peace with the fact Lara Croft was dead and buried and we would never see her again. like I had said, I like those games because I think they're pretty fun to play but I will say that with the caveat that I mainly play old shit and have never played the games they're ripping off and did so only out of brand loyalty so maybe they're really terrible in comparison and I would have no idea.
it makes sense playing them because they aren't tomb raider games. the movie is a separate conversation altogether; I thought it sucked because even as an adaptation of those particular games it sucked ass because outside of the use of the word 'fuck' and getting impaled on obstacles I think personally those should have been T rated games the movie was so fuckin' cucked from the jump. everything about those games that could make a compelling movie was fucked to get it to be a shitty pg 13 blockbuster that I saw opening day w someone and we were like 2 of 4 people in the goddamn theater. listen, I don't carry a torch for the Jolie movies although as a kid I loved them but at least Lara was hot and bad ass in those movies even if they sucked. we got a movie where she was neither and the only positive was Walton Goggins tried to carry a horrible movie on his back and I love that dude and he couldn't save it. and all we get is this faggoty sperging about lara croft being problematic for creating unrealistic expectations for women and objectifying or something. first of all nobody expects women to be some sexy hard ass one woman army, and secondly it's bullshit anyways, my wife the other day had me laughing my ass off bc I was playing the pirated remaster and she came home from work and she doesn't really play video games and was like dude holy shit tomb raider when I was a little girl I loved these I thought I was gonna grow up and be Lara Croft. I said 'what an archeologist?' and she said 'no a bad ass bitch with big guns and a bigger rack' lmfao my point being Lara Croft has gotten character assassinated for no reason other than retarded people are jealous of a video game character who isn't real and isn't supposed to be.It's funny, because the 2013 game wasn't initially set to be a Tomb Raider game, but rather was set to be a tonally different, original IP back when it was in development in early-2011. The original Tomb Raider games from both 90s and 2000s were not original (I mean for christ's sake, OG Lara Croft is just female Indiana Jones with elements taken from Tank Girl), but they were seen as fun and enjoyable. But the 2010s survivor trilogy and the very godawful, very neutered for a PG-13 rating 2018 movie were all boring and miserable that, despite Squeenix's million-dollar manpower in their disposal, still managed to fumble the bed with Eidos and Crystal IPs. I'm also mad at how they rushed the Deus Ex game Mankind Divided back in 2016.
Even with Eidos/Crystal in the hands of Embracer since almost two years ago, there's still no point to continue on with Tomb Raider as it's dead, and this goes double with most IPs these days, but knowing big name corpos, they cannot let old dogs die
Honestly, it makes Legend of Chun-Li look like Citizen Kane by comparison. It's easily one of the worst video game movies ever. The two Jolie movies aren't cinematic masterpieces or anything, they were fun movies that followed the video games to a T. The 2018 movie didn't.the movie is a separate conversation altogether; I thought it sucked because even as an adaptation of those particular games it sucked ass because outside of the use of the word 'fuck' and getting impaled on obstacles I think personally those should have been T rated games the movie was so fuckin' cucked from the jump. everything about those games that could make a compelling movie was fucked to get it to be a shitty pg 13 blockbuster that I saw opening day w someone and we were like 2 of 4 people in the goddamn theater.
I'd say my feelings on Tomb Raider as a series is the same thing Rich Evans of RLM said about Star Wars as a series, and that's that, much like how Star Wars is a limited series that doesn't go anywhere outside the movies, there also isn't anywhere to go with Tomb Raider outside of the original video games as its also a limited series.they might as well have been called Samantha Small-Tits and the Terrorist Plot and it would have been the same games. they are not tomb raider games in any shape way or form.
Fitting considering the 1994 Street Fighter movie and the early-2000s Jolie era Tomb Raider movies were just innocent popcorn entertainment and yet both Legend of Chun-Li and 2018 Tomb Raider are absolute tone deaf messes, yet the latter is so unbearable and horrifying, and even today just six years removed, I'm still seething about this.I'd argue Legend of Chun Li is better because I think the protagonist is slightly better looking but they are both a good comparison because I paid to see both and both were horrible as films, and even worse as adaptations as the source material.
I'm sorry but no. Not as long as uwe boll's ovure still exists. I'm not saying you have to like it, but just on the technicals it's at least a movie and better than something like MK Annihilation. It's easily one of the worst video game movies ever. Uwe Boll made Postal the greatest video game movie of all time lmfao although I don't disagree with you.I'm sorry but no. Not as long as uwe boll's ovure still exists. I'm not saying you have to like it, but just on the technicals it's at least a movie and better than something like MK Annihilation.
