I guess it's time to start a new term, how about "Desecrated Simpsons corpse"?
Too long.

I have a new name and it started last night.

Seasons 1-4: Beginnings
Seasons 5-8: Golden Age
Seasons 9-10: Silver Age
Seasons 11-12: Bronze Age
Seasons 13-20: Mid-Era
Seasons 20-31: Zombie Simpsons
Season 32-present: Parasitic Simpsons

The Tracey Ullman Show and Seasons 1 and 2: Beginnings
Seasons 3-7: Peak (should've ended with 22 Short Films About Springfield, the ideal finale)
Seasons 8-10: Pretty good (Lisa starts getting more annoying and things a bit more preachy)
Seasons 11-12: Okay to Meh (until Maude's death marks the beginning of Zombie Simpsons)
Seasons 13-20: Zombie Simpsons
Seasons 20-31: Zombie Simpsons
Season 32-present: Puppet Corpse Simpsons (held up only by decaying strings)

I tried watching it, and I noticed two important details:
  1. The actor is TRYING to sound like the original Karl, but still no dice. I give him an A for effort, but that won't cut it.
  2. You can REALLY tell the writers are deliberately trying to avoid drawing attention to Karl's new voice by having far fewer lines compared to Lenny or Homer. In fact, in the entire video he rarely talks at all, and it's pretty damn apparent that was done intentionally. If they made Karl say more lines and have longer dialogue, it would be painfully obvious to Simpsons purists like us that it's not the real Karl. Casual normie fans might not notice, hence why they barely had him talk.
2/10.
They've been doing that for Martin and the twins too since Russi died. But I kind of disagree in this case, He might not have as many lines, but Carl also has some of the longest outside of Burns and Smithers, and that's when you can tell when Alex is faltering with the voice. The first few lines he sounds all right, but as the episode progresses and he's given more words per line, that's when things fall apart.

I miss this Karl though (he's the one voicing replacement Flanders), I wonder what happened to him and why the show didn't give him more characters to voice. And also why he got replaced around Season 23 with Chris Edgerly.

It's like they got the guy who does Rockstead from the original TMNT cartoon to do it. And my God was that unfunny. Been binge watching this on Disney+ and my partner and I noped the fuck out after the Michelle Obama episode. I see it just keeps getting worse.
