There are people who unironically like TMS; they're called cunts.I have this theory that nobody actually likes The Mary Sue, and anyone who says they do is a liar.
I find it funny that many people are clamouring for "diversity" in comic book movies but ignore the fact that Wonder Woman's Island is believed to be in the Middle East (at least in Mythology) with Gal Gadot herself being Israeli and her people, the Ashkenazi Jews are said to be a mixture of West Asian and European.
But not one major article ever mentioned that Gal Gadot is "Middle Eastern woman" headlining a superhero movie. I remembered during the Aquaman press tour, people were going on about how Jason was "brown" and "Asian/Polynesian" or whatever. I guess people just pick and choose who they want to tout as "diversity".
Jews are only considered poor oppressed POCs when the people targeting them are nazis. When that isn't the case, they are considered white and are thus also okay to shit on, especially if they're from Israel. Sorry sweatyI find it funny that many people are clamouring for "diversity" in comic book movies but ignore the fact that Wonder Woman's Island is believed to be in the Middle East (at least in Mythology) with Gal Gadot herself being Israeli and her people, the Ashkenazi Jews are said to be a mixture of West Asian and European.
The great irony in this is that it's actually something the far left has in common with actual Nazis. The basic reasoning being complete opposites makes it even funnier.Jews are only considered poor oppressed POCs when the people targeting them are nazis. TMS getting angry that the FAA is not 'woke' enough. This article came before the FAA decided to ground the 737 model involved in the crash.I'm not sure how a pop culture website can comment on aviation safety.Apparently they see some subtextual racism.Since the crash happened in Africa the FAA thinks US pilots are better trained than pilots in Africa or something or at least that's what TMS thinks.![]()
Dismissive Rhetoric Around the Ethiopian Airlines Crash Reeks of Western Elitism
The dismissive rhetoric that has been coming from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration in response to the Ethiopian plane crash has been dismissive and reductive.www.themarysue.com
Still having a pop culture site complain about aviation safety is funny.

Star Wars’ New Vader Comic Seems to Take a Swipe at Female Fans, and the Fandom Is Not Happy
What happens if Darth Vader has an admirer? Apparently, nothing good, despite the fact that Lucasfilm loves to sell Vader merch and hype up the Sith Lord.www.themarysue.com
The Mary Sue sticking up for Stalkers across the world, how dare Vader be upset someone broke into his chambers to do the creep. Panty sniffers rejoice.
I wouldnt be surprised if at least one member of their staff assisted in the doxxing of Adam driver![]()

The protagonist, who has been adopted by fans and named Daaé, after Christine Daaé from The Phantom of the Opera, is treated miserably by the narrative. She’s not even given a name or a backstory of any kind. She’s portrayed as being obsessive and almost pathetic, with the art visualizing her as being manic and laughable. It’s a sexist comic that shows women as being ridiculous, with fantasies being a sign of a troubled mind.
This is not to say that Vader should have accepted her love and her problematic behavior, or that he shouldn’t have reacted the way he did. He is the villain, after all, but I guarantee, a male character who idolized Vader and who wanted to be like him would not have been treated like some sort of pseudo-Harley Quinn, but rather as a realized character who idolizes a villain and who would be the hero of the piece, rather than a joke of a character.
It’s worth noting that Chuck Wendig, who was originally slated to write this Vader series prior to being fired by Marvel, tweeted that his original idea for the story was about a male morgue attendant who became obsessed with Vader. And yet, it was changed to a woman.
I’m sure I’ll be labelled a hypocrite for this, because of my open dislike of certain villains and ships associated with them, but there’s nothing good that’s in this comic. Women don’t need morality tales about how “Bad Boys” will actually kill them, or comics painting them as being troubled and “crazy.” If we praise Imperial fanboys in the canon, with characters like Hux or even Kylo Ren, we can’t treat women as being insane for the same reasons.
Fandom politics are difficult to explain, and I’m not about to get into a debate on those. The bottom line is that this is a sexist character depiction. Her fantasies of being admired for being capable, romantic, and ultimately powerful are mocked for being “crazy,” and she is treated by the creatives as being insane and not a heroine but rather as a joke. The ultimate murder might make sense for Vader’s character, but the whole thing didn’t need to be written at all if it was just going to punch down at female fans.
This is why more women need to be writing these comics. At any point along the line, a woman, like the women who are commenting on this comic, could have said, “Hey, maybe this isn’t the best idea.” The only woman involved with the comic drew the variant cover; everyone else was a man. If Star Wars wants to be more inclusive, they can start by involving more women in the creative process to avoid mishaps like this.
Between the actual content of the comics, Wendig’s commentary on how it would’ve been about a toxic fanboy, and the amazing criticism I’ve seen from female fans in response to the comic, it’s now making it hard for me to want to get involved in Star Wars comics—not until they get more women writing them, at least, because this is five steps back and zero steps forward for a franchise that prides itself on being inclusive.
Ending up dead is the natural conclusion of wanting to be with a murderer. Even if you take the ree'ing seriously, power fetishes like that are generally centered around your vulnerability compared to their "intense" persona. This can be written off as victim blaming but I'm fairly certain you aren't a victim if being vulnerable in a dangerous situation was your goal, you're just someone who needs a Darwin award. She contradicts herself pretty much every other paragraph. It's like watching the Guybrush Paradox unfold in real time, especially when you read the damn comic and find the female character is treated way more sympathetically than the male character would be in Cuck Wendig's version. It's also interesting to note that the Fangirl's fantasies paint her as being less in love with Vader and more in love with idea of Vadar: her fantasy version hardly ever speaks and the maskless version is implied to be conventionally handsome, her fantasies are less her just plain crazy and more willfully misinterpreting Vadar's usual activities of force-choking subordinates for unrelated reasons as being specifically for her, and by the end of her series her fantasies have more-or-less turned him into background dressing or, dare I say, objectifies him.
Also can't help but notice that TMS's synopsis seems to take responsibility off the main character's actions by saying she stumbles into his room, implying it's an accident, when the reality is she breaks into his private quarters knowing full well what she's doing. It's like they really do want an unironic version of this song.
And I really don't get why they think inserting more women into comics will magically solve this issue. Women aren't a hivemind that all have the same opinions, hell the author admits they hate most villain pairings and are the most Basic Bitch Qwueer Coffee Shops AUs UwU fangirl imagineable, so what makes her think that there aren't slews of militant shipping anti fangirls that won't agree with this version? Or for that matter, look at the female writers like Chelsea Cain who create slews of what-the-fuckery that even other SJWs find problematique despite claiming they want the same things, or the chicks who make skimpy female characters they love to REEE about. Surely they'd be okay with this if it was completely unchanged but made by a woman, and aren't just butthurt because they took a short story too personally, right?
Something something Tarantino was kind of rude when answering questions about women in a movie. Also the Manson family murders were about a mysoginistic dude that liked to kill women.I don't know from what i remember his victims tended to be equal opportunity.Of the 9 murders directly linked to Charles Manson only 3 were women.I guess the 6 men that died in those murders don't count????![]()
Quentin Tarantino Did Not Seem to Enjoy Being Asked About Women at the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Press Conference
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood premiered at Cannes yesterday, and Tarantino's press conference was contentious over questions about women.www.themarysue.com
Much as I'm loathe to give any sort of leeway for TMS, Tarantino did know all about what Harvey Weinstein was doing for decades and said or did nothing (not to mention the abuse he put Uma Thurman through during Kill Bill that resulted in her having back problems ever since then), he deserves all the shit that gets thrown at him now, tbh.
