The main argument of the article was “this would’ve been a good chance for racebending and showcasing that POC can be villains too!” Good point, but they’re acting like DC didn’t literally use Black Manta in Aquaman and even casting Dwayne Johnson to play the Middle Eastern villain Black Adam.

Since Cheetah is a quite sexy (white) female villain, wouldn't it be potentially QUITE racist to have a black actress play her?

I remember some of them arguing it would be thought of as racist since she's a "savage" character being taken down by a white woman.

They did the same thing with Artemis a pale, red head Amazon and Wonder Woman's rival. Her people I believe came from Egyptian or maybe the Middle Eastern (it may come as a surprise to those far-left types that *gasp*, there are Native North Africans and Middle Easterners with light hair/eyes/skin) but then they cast a Black woman to play her as a cameo in the Wonder Woman movie.

Honestly, if they cast a minority as Cheetah, I can see the outrage when the film is released:
"One of the few POC in Wonder Woman film portrayed as "savage". Knocked out by Zionist bitch".

Also that's silly. I believe the point of Cheetah (Barbara Minerva) was to contrast Wonder Woman. A mortal woman is given powers by a sketchy god and loses her humanity in the process, becoming an animal/human hybrid vs a demi-goddess Amazon who was made to be a powerful warrior and wanted to learn more about humans.

On a side note, it's going to be interesting and funny if they find out that Black Manta basically is an evil black supremacist who lives solely to terrorize a single white guy (Aquaman) simply for existing and went as far as to murder the guy's baby, right after he gave his big motive speech where he reveals that his entire super villain career is entirely about causing harm and suffering to white people in the name of creating a black ethno-state. Not to mention, creating all sorts of made up excuses (being raped by pirates, autism, Aquaman killed his daddy) to prevent people from realizing he's just a black racist out to destroy some white guy just because he's white.

Or that Black Adam basically is an explicitly right wing/conservative atheist who runs a Middle Eastern country and actively genocides Muslim countries that try and start shit with his nation, as far as the crabs in a bucket mentality of Islam in the Middle East.

No shit most negative reviews are going to be written by men when they make up the majority of film reviewers; in fact, somebody pointed out that the male:female ratio of reviewers who were negative mirrored that of the film critic work force. If she thinks it's a problem that most negative reviews were written by men, she should be focusing on the root cause (female film critics being underrepresented) instead of the outcome.
