What, are you writing this in your underground bunker?
More like their parents' basement.
same thing in their minds really

One of the sad impacts of using Twitter for politics is that it lets people argue with stupid low hanging fruit instead of engaging with any kind of tough question.

I guess the democrats are moving further to the left while the republicans are moving further to the right. The weirdest proposal she has though is the universal jobs guarantee. That betrays a fundamental missunderstanding of how the economy works.Unfortunately for many americans who still remember the difficult post-2008 years with high unemployment the idea will be very appealing.Costs and simple market economics don't matter. That and her idea of abolishing ICE altogether.Unfortunately she is the future when it comes to politics in places like LA or NYC there's no going back on that anymore.

As if those places aren't fucked up enough already. And how the heck do you get everyone a job? There'd be people shoved into nothing positions and you'd have to make new companies and businesses.

I guess if you're in a job where you write crummy articles all day, you start getting the idea that anybody can do that sort of thing.

They did this in the Soviet Union, largely by creating pointless busywork jobs. One of the common ways was creating completely pointless museums.

Keeping people employed at pointless busywork jobs will probably be the future in an increasingly automated world. Don't knock it - this could be the way most people make a living 50 years from now.

But someone has to actually pay for that. All those pointless jobs will have to be supported somehow. Its one reason why the communist system collapsed eventually. They had to support all those people without taking into account market economics.

I'll have you know that The Museum of Ukrainian Spanner Production was an excellent use of money and resources.

I don't know if you've been following the site, but man, they're getting obsessed with abortions as of late.
Have they reached the point of writing articles about women who have had double-digit numbers of abortions and how brave they are? Rather than pointing out that a person who’s had that many abortions is either fucking incompetent at preventative birth control or a sociopath.

Though I think those articles are usually a Cosmo or New Yorker level of pretentiousness that Mary Sue couldn’t manage.

They're paranoid that Trump's pick for the Supreme Court is going to overturn Roe v. Wade.

I don't know how likely that would even be. Admittedly, I don't follow the Supreme Court too closely so I don't know if there are any major cases headed their way that would put it in jeopardy, but honestly I don't think it's something that warrants immediate concern.

It'll tilt the court conservative for a long while, so no shit they're up in arms.

Frankly, the whole thing needs reform so we don't get up in arms about it. Supreme Court justices should have term limits.

The court leaning conservative is certainly a valid concern, but the idea that they'll just overturn Roe v. Wade just seems to be needlessly hysteric (heh).

The supreme court is the way it is and has been forever. We've had partisans throughout our history. It's got an odd number of judges on it, it's always going to lean one way or another. Term limits aren't a terrible idea, but it's not as if this is something new.

At least this guy seems to have heard of the constitution, unlike sotomayor and ginsburg. Honestly he's a lot like Kennedy was.
