Also that Single White Female movie where the lady kills the dude with oneTrufax. I know someone whose wife whacked him with one and it broke one of the bones in his arm.

This was a great comment from the resdesigned posters article: "Sally Struthers should do Save the Blacks commercials: "For just $20 a month, you can sponsor a poor black, sending him a movie poster with him photoshopped into the starring role to buoy his self-esteem, plus mock college acceptance and Fortune 500 job hiring letters. A different package each month"
Caroline Cao said:Then, we get to the drugging scene that made some viewers queasy. During the interrogation, Imperial Governor Pryce inoculates Hera with a truth serum, disorienting her. And once Kanan rescues her, Hera spends time in a daze, making comedic quips as she is dragged around like a damsel. Ha ha? Romantic comedy by a non-consensually drugged woman! Funny, right?
Hera’s stupor is played for laughs, screwing up the levity and her agency. Rather than robbing Hera of her bodily volition, the production team should have maximized Kanan and Hera’s synchronized collaboration on the battlefield, which could have easily been done without sacrificing humor. Kanan and Hera’s interplay is always inherently rife with wit. C’mon, Hera wouldn’t have to be drugged to utter, “I hate your hair.”
While Hera does regain control of her faculties to participate in the escape with her piloting skills, it does not negate the fact that the show toyed with bodily violation as a comedic tool. Then, Hera professes her love for him. While the context assures the audience she has some agency in meaning it, unfortunately, showrunner Dave Filoni confirms that the serum was an attribute to her confession. Whether or not Hera loves Kanan, it’s gross that the writers thought it best to weed out a woman’s love declaration through drugging rather than let Hera do it on her own terms, which was arguably already did when she kissed him in “Kindred,” so it further insults Hera’s agency. TheWookiegunner review makes the same note: hire women.
And then, the pivotal heartbreak scene: Kanan Jarrus, after four seasons of surviving the Empire, dashes into the flames to sacrifice himself for his crew. When Hera runs toward him, he Force-sweeps her back, like a doll, which poorly frames Hera in a passive position. Despite having a cast of strong women, Rebels—and its predecessor, Clone Wars—has a way of gendering its violence in an uncritical, careless manner.
Oh for fuck's sake, aren't these the same people who go "NUH UHHH" whenever people being up phenomena like The Guybrush Effect when discussing the double standards surrounding female characters? "Comedic Drug-Related Behaviour" is a trope used all the time with male characters. Hell, male characters being under the influence of Wonder Woman's truth lasso have been played for laughs in pretty much every iteration, and you never say shit about "muh agency" then. That's not even getting into the nerve of claiming someone not wanting their loved one to die with them on their suicide mission is the same as relegating the woman into a "passive" role.
From what I've heard the writers actually did their research when it comes to depicting what truth serum actually does to people- they lose all filters and basically become a walking stream of consciousness rant.
The dumb thing about the whole WW being in the 1st World War rather tan the second is that Germany was portrayed as this big superpower with little difference to it’s Nazism future. While the Germans were a big power in WW1, they were not the powerhouse they were portrayed as.Wonder Woman is Captain America the First Avenger but with a woman and in WW1 instead of WW2?
Where the Heck Is My Lola Bunny Merch?
I wonder why?Ms. Lola Bunny, a character who only has a total of 3 minutes of screen-time in the entire film.

Wahhh! Why isn't Cheetah being played by a POC in the Wonder Woman sequel?
Or "HOW DARE A WHITE WOMAN BEAT ON A POC!!!"And yet if she was played by a WoC, they’d soon start to cry “SO RACIST, THE VILLAIN IS NOT WHITE!!!!” or “SO RACIST, THEY’RE IMPLYING POC’S ARE LIKE ANIMALS!!!!”
