I’m hopeful IDW will sack him within a couple months or he’ll leave on his own terms. I’m counting on it at this point.

Comics are starting to come around, they’ve realize that forced social justice doesn’t sell. They literally are losing money hand over fist to please a minute segment of the population that doesn’t really buy comics anyway.
 
The weird part is IDW can actually do politics and social commentry quite well, the re-invention of the decepticons into a disenfranchsed underclass revolt and megatron as a julius ceasar mixed with sparticus and a dash of lenin (backed up by president "every politician ever" Starscream) is brilliant. Aside from the slightly cringey transgender transformer (the girl robots where a stretch, the 'homosexual' robots where logical. How the fuck do you develop Gender dysphoria when you where built in factory and have neither a dick nor estrogen) they've even managed to cover topics such as a minorities and such pretty well. The trick is that it can't be heavy handed and never at the expense of the story. Their's a reason why christian folk rock sucks but you can almost feel the touch of the divine in the sistine chapel, art must take precidence over ideology.

I don't think the idea of a transgender robot is too far fetched when you are dealing with shapeshifters whose concept of gender really would be a social construct while lacking any biological basis to root it in. My issue is more that these are beings millions of years old so this should have been something the bot should have come to terms with a long time ago.
 
I always had an aversion to making supposedly alien creatures human in behaviour and attitudes.If they're trully alien then their entire world would be based on concepts that would be trully alien.Having a trans robot makes no more sense than having a straight robot.I wish writers would come up with alien creatures that are trully alien in behaviour and attitudes not just borrow human behaviours .Of course i'm not sure if its possible for someone to think of a trully alien in behaviour creature that doesn't have any counterpart in our world.But for me it always smacked of laziness when someone writes alien creatures that exhibit human behaviour.

From what I remember from the shitstorm when they introduced IDW-Arcee, female transformers were originally just regular male transformers that a mad scientist turned into females in an attempt to introduce gender to the transformer race. Funny enough this version of Arcee was initially portrayed as a violent sociopath, and if this wasn't done years ago I would almost say it was the writers taking the piss out of MtF trannies.
 
I can't understand "trans" TransFormers either (Would that make them Trans^2 Formers or Trans TransFormers?), since they could easily just retrofit their form in order to reflect the gender they feel. (Which would be pointless anyway, since they don't have penises, vaginas, breasts, or any other sexual organs, internal or external).

Cybertronians don't have sex or reproduce via sexual means, so the whole concept of gender is as useful to them as a bicycle to a fish.
