Ah, the old "all I know is that I have to get mad about something sexist" mindset strikes again. The same site/people that go on and on about how a woman should be able to strut down the street naked and not be bothered, that we should #freethenipple because men's nipples aren't sexualized, that we shouldn't shame women for whoring themselves out now whine about a woman in shorts who's wearing a harness (over her fully covered boobs).

Ever notice how they only get ultra triggered by skimpy clothing if it's attractive thin women wearing them? Ugly bulldykes are encouraged to wear as little clothing as possible by these very same idiots.

Because they don't actually care about women being comfortable with their bodies, just people not being repulsed by fat ugly bulldykes which will never change.

For example the Japanese use elements of Shinto in pop culture (like Westerners use Greek/Roman mythology) due to the religion allowing such.
Screw Shintoism, the Japanese use Christianity in their pop culture constantly, but I haven't heard anyone scream cultural appropriation over it. Because that would be retarded.

Japanese media can use imagery and concepts from pretty much any religion or tradition.

Usually "cultural appropriation" is seen as "problematic" only if someone of a "dominant group" does it with the culture used by a "marginalized group," usually out of context. Ironically, concern over "cultural appropriation" in the first place seems to be something that only a loud minority of white people have.

Even if Christianity is a minority religion in Japan, I've seen people defend Japan's use of it.

Or it's just that once again, they're forcing American standards and way of thinking onto another country. Tumblrinas are first-world/westernized centric and they believe every other country works like like western Europe/Canada/the USA.

Xenosaga (a three part JRPG) is, in many places, the New Testament IN SPACE!!! And i thought it was cool, and i am Christian (mostly). Literally no one cares except the hardest of the hardcore if one culture takes something from another culture and plays with it.

The only time "cultural appropriation" is even an issue that anyone should care about is when the appropriation trivializes or demeans the other culture.

Nothing SJWs bitch about does this.

In some fairness, that is technically what SJWs are saying.

It's just they believe a white person showing any kind of attention or interest in a non-white culture us itself trivializing and demeaning.

Then they go into a spiel about how "nobody liked their music/food/fashion when they did it" and how hated they were for it.

That is exactly what they think and they aren't shy about saying.

It's the same non-logic they use to say only white people are racist.
Actually I think they came up with a new term for non-whites being racists: "colorism." I know I saw that word used somewhere.

I do remember reading some transtrender bitching about how toy ninjas were cultural appropriation. What is really funny is that the Japanese are pretty racist themselves (they really hate Koreans) which is never brought up in any discussion. Cultural appropriation reminds me of separate but equal.

Christianity correctly clocked that concepts leaking into other cultures was a great way to proliferate them. You'll notice the most successful historical cultures/faiths are the one who are happy for their ideas to filter out wereas exclusitory ones tend to die out because they're over reliant on static maintenance for example mithratic mystery rites couldn't overcome olypian paganism and was later squashed by Christianity because it was really secretive and didn't let women in.

And they wonder why the alt-right is a thing.

Social Media really is a giant; many if not most Americans get all their information and facts from it. And the social media kingpins deliberately proliferate shit like the MS or HuffPo.

Turns out when all you ever hear is smug know-it-alls talking about how white people are automatically racist and how who uses what bathroom is the most critical issue we're currently facing, it's not surprising when people start rallying around Rorschach-style cranks writing manifestos on degeneracy.
