The Mary Sue is hilarious. The fact their stuff gets shared by so many sites just goes to show you how far the cronyism goes. And you'll find many of their writers write for various sites on the side. With such gems as:

The websites entire schtick is finding some recent geekish themed news, and complaining about it, with no solutions, or in some cases no facts, studies or anything else even backing up their claims.
And now that Feminism/Social Justice is a Business/Religion. There is no "win" state, you just keep complaining until things get ridiculous with sexist atoms and such.

The entire bunch are essentially Tumblr fangirls who are angry no 10/10 guy will sweep them off their feet. But at the same time angry at the Men around them for being such pathetic spineless weasels. All the while they write fanfic pairings and "if this 10/10 was my b/f" as articles. It just goes around and around in an endless loop. Their instincts and hormones tell them they are weak, vulnerable, prone to emotional outbursts. But their Tumblr feed tells them not only are they equal to Men, they are Men.... no.... they have gone beyond Men!

So you end up with this inane rationalization babblespeak.
 
Wahhhh! How dare Bendis not back away and let other people write minority characters! He's not using his privilege correctly. How dare he have Miles claim that he wants to be seen outside his race, that sounds like #alllivesmatter to us! Your genitals, race and/or disability shouldn't be the determining factor over talent and skill. If you got a black female to write the new Iron man, is it worth it if she can't pace a story and sucks at writing dialogue?

Speaking of Spider-man, now Dan Slott is throwing around a bitchfit on Twitter over the possibility of Mary Jane being black in the new movies. And of course, SJWs are throwing bitchfits over the fact that people disagree with it, saying that the only reason people don't want that is "racism".

Mary Jane has always been disliked in the tumblr/mainstream fandom for "being a stupid damsel when compared to the awesome Gwen" (see Doug Walker's Spider-man videos). I doubt dyeing her skin brown will make her get followers (unless, you know, people just like her for shallow reasons such as her skin...Sad).

Why do you think they never gave a crap about the first GoT rape scene? Brown skin is an automatic pass for them, in fact, probably encouraged. It's why many are so apologist about the Radical Muslim/ISIS type stuff. It's why BLM is fine. They simply use the "progressive stack" to tier their likes and dislikes. There is no brain functioning or weighted philosophies here, they simply go look at their oppression chart, and then use that as their guide whether they should be angry or not.

A baby is murdered in a movie. White Male? Acceptable. Ethnic Female? We'll have the article up by tomorrow.

They don't see themselves that way, they are stupid and/or so self centered that they deserve the perfect life because... they think they are special in some way I guess? Maybe they have a job(wowee), maybe they think being a nice person some of the time somehow makes them exceptional, probably because they think others think in the same way as them and have little to no empathy for others.

From my experience dealing with "Nice Guys" and "Tumblr Fangirls", they appear as two sides of the same coin.

Isn't really fishy, if something is changed in the most shallow surface level way to "progressive" they'll jump on the bandwagon because the sites and peers are telling them to. People didn't really give that big of a shit about Ghostbusters, but change them to Women and boom, I TOTALLY LOVE GHOSTBUSTERS! Their transparent toadying to make up for their own bigotry is just pathetic.

Movie fans are just going to move on and forget the fad existed outside of a minority of them that'll stick around. As for the comics, they'll (Especially Marvel's) just get forgotten about and viewed like some 70s characters such as "Black Goliath". I would bet my money on Jane Foster/Thor ending up on some clickbait "Top 10 bad ideas by Marvel in the last decade" or Norman Osborn tossing Spider-Gwen and Miles off yet another bridge. Eventually the fad would come back and we'll repeat this a few decades later with people oblivious to how this has played out like 3 times by then.

Gwen was a dull character and that's why they killed her off in the comics though. Is this a "It's new to me so I love it" thing? All she's known for is getting tossed off a bridge and making perverted comments about how Peter is the only boy she knows that hasn't tried giving her "a tumble" in her original appearances.
