What's really funny is that one of the biggest complaints in the Jurassic Park fandom was that the films never killed off women. Women being put on a pedestal isnt equality, especially in a film series where realistically some would die. I was pretty glad to see them finally getting over their thing about not killing women in JW, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

But of course TMS would get butthurt about a film treating women as equals like this.
 
Yeah but Lois Lane needing to be saved is problematic! All women must be unrealistic Mary Sues who can do everything by themselves!

...Even though Lois Lane being a damsel has been the character's core for over 70 years. Plus it kinda makes sense for a non-powered civilian who doesn't have any magical powers to be constantly in danger.

It is now "whitewashing" or whatever if you do NOT turn all white characters into fat, disgusting black women in burqas with vitiligo and W.C. Fields noses apparently because they're all alcoholics, too.

Steve Ditko is notoriously reclusive and probably unlikely to respond to SJW inquiries. As a fairly hardcore old school libertarian/Objectivist, he would have nothing but contempt for SJWs.

I suppose he might be lured out of his lengthy silence if he were pissed off enough.

Their's been some handwringing about his ethnicity because he could possibly be Asian because it hasn't specifically been said he's isnt despite looking white, having a western name and coming from a Anglo-American social background. In addition some character nobody has ever heard of is being played by tilda swinton and she was specifically Asian.
This has been sort of been milling around for a while. The idea that counter-culture needs more minority characters isnt dumb, the problem is it's suggested by people who are retards and they usually suggest stapling on said group onto a established characters. This can work with legacy characters ms marvel whose currently a Muslim nerd but generally is really stupid like the girl Thor cringe fest. It's also totally hypocritical because they lose their shit when it's the other way around.
Generally these things are shit because they're written by the sort of people of people who thinks that gender flipping established guys is the way to create good original character do not steal is to gender flip an established one, you're usually a shitty writer if you're that stupid. Plus you're saying the way to make it as a girl is to be a guy first.
Naturally nerds being no where near as smart as they like to think and often being not the most socially adept people can't really articulate meaningful critiques of why girl thors, black link and gay wolverines are shit and sperg away, this gives the media an opportunity to pretend their's controversy over New Thor because nerds hate women/gays/whatever. It also gives slacktivist liberals in said counter-culture an chance for their half assed musings on society to be sort of relevant for about 10 minutes as they sperg out at their fellow spergs. The companies involved make a few quid and some good pr for pretending to stick up for whoever so they repeat et-nausium.

TLDR-Social justice warriors want to black up or gender bend white male heroes. This is a stupid idea but generates some sales and PR

Granted gay Wolverine was from an alternate world that was briefly visited so I can let that slide.
 
So winter is coming tomorrow, do you think The Mary Sue lot are still being children about it or do you think they'll start talking about how they're giving it a second chance because they're the better people or some other lies?
 
^They'll keep watching it. These type of people are the typical dumb nerds who complain massively over a show but keep watching it because they have no will of their own.
 
Nobody these days seems to be able to give up on a show when they think it starts sucking.
