The IRL tournament scene continues to be infested by insufferable troons who make their sexual degeneracy their entire personality.

I think the worst part of it is that they have decided to form a weird clique together, proclaim themselves the best players and denegrate the cis men around them, and ten routinely lose big matches because their cross sex hormones make them WORSE AT THE GAME. The amount of times I have seen one of these troons get flustered, botch a big decision, and then never take ownership of the mistake is the only time I have authentically seen female behavior out of any of them.

There has been some recent drama, in regards to a convention for the Cube format, CubeCon:

So basically, a troon somehow got butthurt as fuck about needing a finger for biometric entry. And here's the troon's response:

And this intro pretty much sums up this "victim" as a whole:

Why cant the conversation ever just be:
person 1: *makes a joke*

person 2: 'I didn't find that funny or appropriate'

person 1: 'Oh sorry, my bad'

person 2: 'no problem'
This is some of the most passive aggressive retardation I've ever read in my life. I'd never heard of CubeCon or any of this shit until yesterday when this came into my twitter feed (archive) and I damn near had a stroke trying to understand what and why. Thanks, now I know what actually happened.

Autumn Burchett's fetlife profile (cant archive but i will attach an image) got found and the 'nudes' were posted on /tg/. People have begun making cards out of the photos, link to the album with all the photos from fetlife is here(archive). Nothing will come of this but it's fun horrifying to see this side of someone who will cancel others for liking a naughty tweet.

What is that shit sticking out of his back?

It looks like MTG troons are no different from other ones, that they always resort to begging first:

And someone thinks that Washington DC, out of all places, would be a safer place to hold an MTG event than Dallas, Texas:

Other than laziness and entitlement there is nothing stopping this person signing up to an employment agency as a stopgap and as fo the second if you feel “unsafe” just don’t go. You won’t be missed.

I swear these people treat Texas the way the robot elders treat humans.

Gentlemen, I regret to inform you that the West has fallen. Again. From this moment we are on the path to a crossover with animal control.

Also, some Assasins Creed got spoiled. It will be secret lair or something. Edit: It actually seems to be a whole set.

I went to MagicCon in Chicago recently.

Overall...not bad, actually. Well laid out vendor hall. Generous play area. Plenty of casual and competitive play options. They wanted families to go, and they actually really succeeded with that. Hasbro really needed MTG to gain a younger following, to make up for their other young brands failing, and they kinda nailed it.

Very obviously, ReedPop and WotC banned sexual content to achieve this. There were a fair share of troons - I'd say 1 in 20 - but the days of tournament organizers letting people get away with nonsense is over. It was actually the most normal, well run MTG experience I have had since COVID.

I thought that the art direction of the set was great until the decided to do go right for it and have planeswalkers with goddamn fursonas.

It will be G rated because the family money is what is floating the whole company, but come the fuck on guys.

Imagine losing your Gorgon gf to Phyrexia, getting Compleated by said Gorgon gf because you were too down bad to kill her, dying with the rest of the Phyrexian Hivemind because Karn and Teferi yeeted Norn out of the multiverse, and getting resurrected as a fursona.

The past 12 months haven't been kind to Jace.

They say Jace is the most popular planeswalker of their line up by far - that's why he's in everything.

Several other undercurrents seems to imply that a lot of the playerbase sees themselves in Jace.

Thus if Jace == Magic Players.... well actually it's pretty accurate that WotC is doing to Jace in fiction what WotC is doing to players IRL.

I'm okay with this because they're going with a Mouse Guard feel. Not actual furries, at least mostly. There's obviously some artists that don't know what a sapient creature is like the one who made that fox.

My concern is with them using an established character and turning them into an anthro, especially when the last we've heard of them in-story was Ajani claiming Jace was dead.

If this were a silver-border set or Secret Lair, sure, whatever. Same if they were making anthro alts of existing Planeswalkers as chase cards for the set, like Expeditions or Masterpieces. If they made LotR versions of Urborg, I wouldn't really sneed if they made a Mouse Guard version of Jace the Mind Sculpter.

My annoyance generally comes from the fact that, as far as we know, Jace is still a Phyrexian planeswalker. Of the 8 planeswalkers that were compleated, only 3 had the process reversed, and of those 3 only Ajani was able to keep his spark intact. If we're going to just bring back Jace, I would've liked to see an explanation of how he was uncompleated, or at least have his uncompleated status be a surprise reveal for this block.

I doubt they'll do that for this set. Ajani has already been revealed for one set (Modern Horizons III). Oko has been revealed for the Old West set. Majority of the creatures revealed so far are just normal animals that are walking on two legs instead of four, like mice, otters, rabbits (fun Commander in that species) and foxes. Set should also have some rats. They tend to be pretty big in worlds like this as villains. Obviously some frogs and turtles will appear. Biggest creature so far is a normal bear, which is one of the calamity beasts in that universe. Only way you'll see the planeswalkers as animals in the set is through the Imagine: Courageous Critters.

Other creatures in the set include raccoons, birds, and squirrels.

If there was any Planeswalker to bring back in the next four sets after the Old West one would be Sarkhan Vol since we're going back to Tarkir in 2025. Oh and a desparked Vraska should be in the Old West set. By the way, do like how mass removal in that set isn't considered a crime. No need to worry about Holocausts or anything on that world.

Actually based on something they said that may indeed be the case. From the site on the set:

And finally, the Imagine: Courageous Critters showcase treatment invites you to envision renowned Planeswalkers and creatures were they to visit the plane of Bloomburrow!

So I think it's like a masterpiece thing.
