Yknow whats really funny about this? LRR got their start financially from illicit drug money. One of their early people was in tight with the Hells Angels and would supply cocaine, ecstasy etc to parties all over BC. Wonder if they virtue signal so hard because of guilt?

Went to highschool with some of the core LRR people. Can say for sure they were plenty homophobic back then.
Whoa, really? I used to love some of LRR old sketches.

That starts to explain their ideas and how they kept going.

MTG plays MTG

A strange crossover between the Tim Pooliverse and the Keffals Konflict. Whether this will cause coping and seething remains to be seen, but as far as I'm concerned this is pretty cringe. At least its better than that damn music video.

I fucking hate politicians being called three letter acronyms. I hate AOC, I hate RBG, I hate MTG, I hate FDR. Just call them by their title and last name dammit.

So, if somebody's still here, today spoilers for Warhammer EDH decks will begin. I've heard that those decks would contain big amount of completly new cards. Some say it would be like 42 per deck, while normally it's in the range of 10-18. Obviously, most of these would be random commons and uncommons, but in case even one becomes a staple, reddit moments will ensue. Situation also aggravates by GWs anal copyright stance, which will make reprinting cards that contain their IP hard. I feel like Wizards have some workaround in mind, but if they don't, stuff is going to be even funnier.

SUPPOSEDLY, magic is supposed to have "magic" versions of every "property" labeled card. So if GW wants to be a dick about it, WotC can just reprint the "normal" version of the cards without the warhammer art.

That is the theory at least. We still haven't got the regular versions of the walking dead and 1 of the godzilla cards.

You know, I had totally forgotten they did a tie in with Arcane - the League of Legends show.

They weren't going to do Walking Dead, but changed minds on that apparently. Eventually the Regular Version of that should come out on the list, we did get the List cards for the Stranger Things secret lair in Cappenna I think.

It was funny that they were clearly innistrad inspired cards (which was befitting for stranger things) but weren't released in either of the innistrad sets.

I just remembered they haven't done the street fighter tie either.

There's a problem, you see. Many new creatures bear a GW-tm'd creature type. However, Mark recently explained one of the possible workarounds they can use.
Quote: "If it ever came to this, here’s our current thinking: We would create a brand new creature type which would be swapped one for one with that IP-centric creature type. For example, all uses of <blah> in this Universes Beyond product will be <unique new creature type> if done in a Magic version. The <IP name> and <unique new creature type> would be one for one in the rules much like the names of the Godzilla skinned cards."
Looks kinda convoluted to me. But mostly, I'll believe it when I see it, for now.
Also, small note. They've showed alternative legendaries for every deck, and most of them are better than the face commanders.

Since this is supposed to be the first step out of a few for MTG×40K, I don't think they'll have any issue for a hot minute. Or IMO, they just won't print the 40K-specific cards again (which will absolutely rustle jimmies if true.)

I just remembered they haven't done the street fighter tie either.
It just came out recently, betting the alternatives will probably be here come early next year.

Not if you wanted the Necron deck; I have heard nothing good about how WOTC decided to build them so far.

Sorry, I meant the MTG version of the street fighter cards (what's being called "universe within") hasn't been announced or made yet.

Kind of like how one of the Godzilla has "zilortha, strength incarnate" as a subtitle indicating which magic card it's an equivalent of... but Zilortha doesn't actually exist right now (though you can get a copy in arena).

That's because face commander sucks big time. And the second legendary they've spoiled is way better. Thing is, since it's a monocolored deck, any legendary in it can be a commander. As of right now, they've shoved some more, and they are still better than the first one.

Abaddon is much better set up as a burn/storm deck than grixis aggro.

Oi lads, I've been pondering if I should write about transformers cards(eternal legal) that were spoiled recently, but then a preety big happening occured.

Tl;dr: WotC announced a 30-th anniversary product, 4 packs of Beta-reprints(yes, reserve-list cards included) ducktaped together, 999$. Those are not tournament-legal. I've glanced through reddit for reddit moments, but so far people seem quite unified in their feelings towards this product.
I speculate that's gonna be a fun one.

FYI being talked about on the regular mtg thread too.

Always knew something was off about the guy and I guess I was right to assume he'd turn out to be a smug globohomo supporter. Looks like the only person who hasn't imploded yet is Rudy, and he's pretty much distanced himself from any full time creator like Tolarian and Jeremy with the only people he still hangs out with being Edwin and Open Boosters, both of which are just lolbertarians who don't engage in community drama.
