I avoided wayland for many years because I thought it forced sync in the spec. I only tried it again when things broke because I was building everything with -wayland and programmers are niggers that hard code a check to some wayland lib so they hang on startup even though they don't reasonably need it to function
This is great news. Currently the tranny commie anti-American cabal that took over Nix/NixOS/nixpkgs has lots of power because they have de facto control over the NixOS Foundation, and thus over its assets. The most important asset is the hydra build server which generates cache.nixos.org. Without cache.nixos.org, Nix and NixOS would be a huge pain in the ass to use.
DHH’s published plan says he wants to write a hydra alternative and use it to create a cache.omarchy.org. This would be fantastic, since it allows folks who love Nix-based technology to not depend on the official build cache. It breaks a monopoly the tranny commies hold. And it provides the first beachhead against deposing the tranny commies right back and removing their totalitarian control enforced via their moderation powers and control of commit powers.
EDIT: This plan also explains why a bunch of tech CEOs were willing to fund a not-particularly-impressive distro. The money can be used to run the large servers necessary to handle a cache.omarchy.org, and restore control of an important technology (Nix/nixpkgs) to the tech sector instead of the pervert sector.
I want to burn nvidia to the ground because thier drivers have off by one errors that will make you need to reboot your machine because the graphics card will just begin to fail after 1 week of uptime.

I used Omarchy for a short while, it wasn't a unacceptably bad experience, though it should allow loading up custom fonts without having to launch terminal, copy .ttf file and call some random ass plugin to set it up (or however I set it up). Also once I installed Claude Code I couldnt remove it no matter what. And right click didn't work. And non-US keyboard map.
I am absolutely loving the troons freaking out about the funding Omarchy has gotten. I installed it on a Thinkpad T470 and really like how DHH packaged everything up with the option to completely rip his goyslop bloat out if need be. People being critical of it is security and tech bro backing is fine, I have no issue with that. I just hope it actually goes somewhere in the longrun and not another "I made a logo" distro.

Omarchy's lead realizes he is just standing on the shoulders of a parent distro (like the gross majority of "just worx" distros) and want to put the fries in the bag, that's a high crime.

Every time DHH comes up or Omarchy, there are a bunch of the usual seething about him making a blog post where he said things they don't like.
It is so tiresome.
I don't follow whatever the Omarchy project lead espouses so I thought it was aimed towards him and not solely the hyprland focus, or whatever, I haven't been in the loop with distrojanny drama since the Artix-XLibre blowout.
Just put the fries in the bag, whether or not you have a retarded worldview or not, just don't fucking leak a clitty and ruin the distro like Artix did over XLibre.
