Meanwhile, KDE decided to do a whoopsie while I was afk.

The funniest part is, it's all bullshit, I just moved the mouse, and everything worked normal again.
You sure it wasn't because you didn't restart after update? Either way embarrassing.
There's a bug in 5.8 6.8 since beta where cursor gets distorted (too wide) when it crosses different window type boundaries, like decorations and client window. I was able to reproduce it on Intel and AMD, but decided not to report it because 5.8 6.8 removed X session and I'm feeling petty.

Have been benchmarking the potential of AI decomps LLMs myself to see if it can actually slop out a functional AI decomp for interoparability of Flash CS6. It was the last good version of Flash before adobe took a massive dump on it. CS6 actually needs this because it has been plagued with OOM issues on newer hardware.

I plan to see if it can add support later for newer forms of vector animation like maybe Qt6 and other things. Not dumb enough to distribute this like others have been doing though, will just be for myself. It's quite remarkable how quick it is from my limited use already. All of this is enabled by MCP servers that use Ghidra, which is the tool that got leaked from the feds a few years back. LauraWired who this thread probably knows about currently maintains the most popular MCP server for it, it supports headless use too so you don't have to use Ghidra's god awful interface. A MCP server is basically a way for the LLM to use your software on your computer to do tasks.

Yes, I had updated a large number of packages shortly before because I needed one new thing to build.
This wouldn't have happened if KDE had a normal screensaver that doesn't screw with login stuff.

because 5.8 removed X session
5.8? I know 6.8 removes it, or am I confusing two different things?

This trolling is garbage-tier. You could have picked literally anything else to claim it was "better than KDE" and gotten some bites. But nobody likes GNOME. Nobody.
The only people willing to use GNOME are people who are using a tablet or the mentally ill. Now you could make the argument that they're one and the same, I certainly wouldn't disagree with you.

Also has KDE stopped looking like a fucked up wannabe desktop mode for Android 5 yet?

6.8, I'm retarded. It's crapping itself out after update because there are no API/ABI stability guarantees between updates. Lockscreen is not just surface that covers your screen, it talks to loginctl and PAM (same thing I guess), so if there's a mismatch, (I'm guessing on KDE's side) then it will just give you that ugly screen. Other DEs are less picky, I think around Plasma 6 they rewrote kscreenlocker and now fun thing about not having to restart immediately after updates on Linux is less of a thing.

There's this thing on Linux called theming.
