Scans are done and uploaded back on pages 80-81. There are some spots where words got cut off on the edges that I didn't notice until I got home. You can still figure out what was said mostly. My friend now has possession of the books and will try to give his input since he knows nothing of Jay except he likes the PPG's.

You sir, deserve a medal (and a cookie)

Reading this comic makes me want to do a dramatic reading.

I may be reading too much into this, but I feel the fact that the villain of these comics is his brother is telling that their falling out may have been larger than we think.
They definitely dislike each other, there's no doubt about that. From the little we've observed I think a large part of it is due to Jay having a victim complex and seeing himself as never doing any wrong. The one "wrong" his brother did towards him that we know of was destroying some stupid thing Jay made in elementary school, we don't hear anything about how Jay has treated his brother though.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if Jay was something of a bully towards his brother, even if unintentionally. I don't have anything to back that up really, but Jay's refusal to accept his own flaws, especially when they negatively impact others, makes me wonder if he wasn't a huge pain to grow up with, and if his brother ever acted out against it Jay would frame it as his brother being evil.

I think it may just be that him and his brother have a history of disagreement. His brother may be embarrassed/annoyed by him and his behavior (and reasonably so) and might be the only one in the family who speaks out about it therefore he is the villain.

Thank you for buying and scanning these abominations, you're fucking awesome for this :story:

All right, reading the actual story now that I can read it....

....God damn it.

We have, in no particular order, a 5 year old with nukes and such, fighting a 6 year old, acknowledging that they have bizarre fetishes, a cat getting decapitated graphically, the alleged protagonist having a freak-out when "dot" was destroyed (not sure what it was), the protagonist nearly launching a nuclear warhead to kill the enemy in a heavily populated area (which gets him banned), and a tacit acknowledgement that if the villain actually killed the protagonist, there'd be no plot.

...And then we cut to an image of a crying child in their underpants.

We've crossed a strange line when Sonichu has a heads-up on any comic in terms of art style, plot, dialogue, and characterization, but fuck it all, that's where we are now. I feel like I simultaneously learned something and that I need to shotgun some Jaegermeister. On the plus side, this gives the CWCki's platoon of amateur psychoanalysts and the like ample material to construct Golden Knight's psychological profile for the inevitable killing spree many of us fear is in his future.

Dammit internet, why do you insist on showing me things I can never unsee?!

God that was awful.

Awful art: Check
Unlikable one-dimensional characters: Check
Incoherent story: Mega Check!

I'm working on an original story of my own but I haven't started writing the first chapter yet simply because I want to get all my world building notes down first and have a clear idea of how I want to proceed. It's obvious that he has no clue how to write a good story. I've read better things on FF.net for crying out loud!

Btw, something I would do when I was 5 or so is I would stack up all my toys into a pile on top of my little play table and sit at the top. I'd end up falling down afterwards but luckily Dad was there to catch me. That and I could sleep practically anywhere.

You mean he didn't mail you gifts of his "art" all the time when you were together? I would have thought he'd forced you to read this ages ago!

I think we still need a little more, ie more in depth details about his family life and more analyzation of his story. We're not CWCki level yet imo.

True about the level of detail compared to Chris, although I think Chris is among the best-documented people in history :)

I'm going to have a look at other lolcow wikis like Jace's and A-Log's; try to get a feel for what type of content and how much of it is needed to make a wiki work...

He doesn't care whether or not you're his lover, you're paying full god damn price for these epics.

I've been meaning to do a little research on Jace (I think that's the Deagle nation parkourdude guy right?) so idk the level of research done though it doesn't feel like enough in regards to TGK. I think we may have enough but we'd need to analyze his story a bit more for research purposes, plus it could probably shed a bit more light on him in a psychological regard.

So I've tested Vocaroo on my Chromebook to see if I didn't need a headset to record my voice.

So yes, I am officially going to do a "dramatic reading" of Bronze Knave's Myth of the Legendary Warrior. I will start by reading the stats of our main antagonist protagonist, Jay the Young Guardian. Expect it to start tomorrow morning!

If only Goldie were to go on an adventure as epic as the Tupacalypse.

Maybe if he stops being lazy we can get a Pilot Epic 3.

I'll be willing to buy that one as well. I love a good trainwreck and unintentional horror.

I sort of feel like a dick for what I did, but the boy needs a major fucking reality check while he's still young enough to cash it. Scathing reviews, parodies and piracy are a part of the world he wants to live in whether he likes it or not and he can either deal with it, or hang it up.

Idk what that is but the title alone is telling me I seriously need to read up on this guy

It'll take a year or two though, he has many important knightly duties to attend too such as getting in his 4 wanking sessions every day and playing vidya

Oh, fuck a duck. I accidentally my post because I thought I had double-posted. Mods, any help on this one, or does the world have to do without my wit and wisdom in this particular thread?

Just read the new scanned versions.

It's interesting how the story is basically: Jay is awesome in every way and totally innocent in everything but gets manipulated by an evil villain who is also his brother into having to examine his actions, but instead of examining his actions (causing loads of destruction because he's mad and his ego is hurt, getting himself banned from the city), he places all the blame on the villain/his brother and decides his only option is to track him down and kill him. He's both the victim and the hero in his own story, with everyone else being the equivalent of NPCs (Nana is mentioned several times and never makes an appearance) and the villain being cast as blindly hateful for no reason other than just because. The most important thing to Jay seems to be his ego and self image, not defending or rescuing civilians or upholding the law or anything like that. I also feel like his avoidance in allowing the Jay character to develop passed his ego is a reflection on how Jay himself feels like he shouldn't have to change or work on any of his flaws.

Another thing I noticed is there's little explanation on how he finds out where to go. How did he know there was a giant space ship above Earth? Most superheroes have some kind of technology or scientist team to help them out, Jay just watches the news, which obviously wouldn't be very efficient. When he returned to Earth people seemed surprised to hear about the spaceship, so either he's implying only he knew about it (somehow), or it goes back to his shitty writing.

As I said before, no explanation as to where anyone's powers come from, which is especially weird since Jay and his brother are classed as human, but Jay is seen flying while not in his suit.

Also, his drawing looks like spaghetti and it's really irritating. There's no effort to stay on model or to keep consistent, and you can tell that it's not just because he can't draw, but because he's not trying. I'm sure he just quickly scribbles out each panel and decides they're good enough as they are on the first lazy try, instead of at LEAST putting in the effort to ensure all the limbs are consistent in their size and shape.

It's been said before but even Sonichu is drawn and written better than this.
