"Worked tirelessly for five years" on The Day Before? Right, pull the other one; in the AMA with moderators and volunteers, one of them had the opinion that the trailer was just a scripted showpiece with no actual game or mechanics behind it. Once the trailer took off the "developers" immediately panicked once they realized they actually had to make a game now, thus eventually resulting in the current shitshow.

Lol. LMAO even.

I don't know if I still have it saved but there was an infographic going round showing basically everything in the game was a stock asset bought elsewhere. Now obviously using assets isn't itself a problem (that's literally why they exist), but claiming you've been working on the game for 5 years, and repeatedly insisting it's not just an asset flip, and then using literally nothing but default shit, is.

Hey look at that, another golden goose game trailer from a small indie studio that totally isn't fake guys. This is their earliest work in the survival genre https://www.fntastic.com/the-wild-eight I don't know I'm not buying that this is how the final product is going to look on release. These fucking animations put TLOU2 almost to shame and that was made by a large triple A developer backed with Sony's investments. The graphical polish is almost perfect in terms of overall performance and fidelity. This is made by a small indie studio who made a janky survival game with simplistic graphics and now they're making... this? I'm expecting this game to be downgraded and janky as hell when it comes out and people will be in uproar that they boldfaced lied about the quality back when this trailer came out.

One of the more annoying aspects is that this game is becoming a huge boom for "react" type video's. Every single 2 bit video game youtube channel now has to make a video on this game.

When Stray Souls came out a few months ago, I thought it was a shoo-in for basically the biggest scam game of the year. But after seeing all of this, I guess I owe that game an apology. It actually works and the devs patched it after getting feedback. The devs here shuttering their studio reminds me of that old indie team, Gaslamp Games, who made Dungeons of Dredmor. They released another game, Clockwork Empires, onto Steam and then (if I remember right) closed the studio the same day, due to having no more money to pay anyone. The game was, of course, an unfinished mess, and I don't think you can even buy it anymore. Wonder if this is also gonna get delisted, or if it'll just sit as an abandoned early access title forever.

Shit is leaking out left and right, some good stuff up on GamingLeaksAndRumors reddit

Translated pic from discord on sales numbers:

God damn even with the refunds they still are getting away with a fair bit of money.

Some more leaks, too much to paste in

A dude(who I believe was a discord admin) even went through and listed every single asset flip in the game:

This is fucking catastrophic. I have NEVER heard of a game company collapsing 2 4 DAYS after release, BECAUSE of the release! This is the new low for Early Access, and it may very well be a catalyst for change on how Steam handles their Early Access titles. Do the people who bought this shit have legal grounds to sue the higher-ups of FNTASTIC?

This is fucking NUTS hahaha

content creators such as Asmongold defended this game, trying to be a fair-fag when it was very clearly fishy as all fucking hell, saying
"how do you know its a scam? whats it a scam for? that doesnt make sense, once this comes out ill buy it and if its bad then its bad, how is it a scam?"
everybody wanted to be fair with these scum fucks who admitted to not paying their worker-bees whilst also overworking the same slaves
this was one of those moments where before anything started, you could see the clown makeup on everybody
it was clearly very suspect, at every stage, yet they still clung to the "no proof of scam" position until now
they re-used assets, they copied other trailers almost 1 for 1, the graphics changed every single time there was a new trailer, they copied the style of graphics and even font of other games, as well as delivering vertical slices and pretending they were gameplay
and yet they clung to "theres no proof its a scam", and here we are
edit: to be clear, once the game was PLAYED and certain to be the worst, everybody turned on it
