I'm not over Kinger being:
  1. An original dev creator of the world they live in
  2. Has shown even in earlier episodes to have creative mode on, even being able to modify Ragatha's code
  3. Has access to original copies of abstracted humans as reference code if he asks Caine for them
  4. Has so much knowledge, access, and power over the system that he deleted Caine from of an accidental button push
  5. Says he knows exactly where their mind files are and even knows details about them down to their filesizes
But he can't be assed to open a hex editor to fix his loving abstracted wife. He doesn't even try. Instead, he sticks her in a fish tank to casually watch her mindless zombie corpse float around. And the writers portrayed that as bittersweet instead of psychotic behavior.
In my casual scrollings in this thread this is the thing that had me confused on why anybody took this shit seriously at all. They have the keys to the kingdom and could make the world literally whatever they want. They could program death into it and just put some randomized range of dates for you to slowly be deleted out of the system near the end of your 'expected' life. You could make as many npc's as you want who themselves were able to not only be convinced they were real, but cope with discovering they were not. The world could be anything they want it to be (at least I think, that's what it sounded like).

this isn't really true, there's a good chance that all the abstracted people are just in permanent mind-hell, fighting themselves and shit. because cooper never explained jackshit, we can't know.

The fact that is up to interpretation is a colossal failure on the part of any author, holy shit

I’m somewhat interested in if the fandom will put the enabler label on Ribbit like they did with Pomni, like sure witnessing someone bully the others in a digital world and still reaching out might be crazy. I think it’s probably objectively crazier to hear someone confess to attacking possibly killing their mother in real life and saying ‘well she might be alive’. But idk maybe the gender validation scene negates all of that

Least deranged TADC fan.

I think the reason why everyone hates the ending is that it's depressing and the characters basically just "accepted" by the characters when no reasonable AI copy of a human mind would accept being forced to be stuck in a Circus simulation.

Because there can be a storm that causes a power outage that shuts off the computer containing this simulation, if that happens. Wouldn't they just be as good as dead? Or maybe another homeless guy decides to come and just destroy it for the shits and giggles.

Yeah, I think it's reasonable to hate this ending and understand why people like PPP were pissed off about it.

Not just that, if they don't have memories of their human selves, why would they be upset being stuck in this digital circus if they have no idea what being human was like. It's probably worse that they know learn of what their real are like knowing what they are missing out on.

Logically, I think the best thing they could do is somehow hack into the system and make themselves completely forget about their former lives and their former humans selves.

They would be able to effectively gaslight themselves into thinking they were never human at all, and just think they were an AI the whole time like Caine and the other NPCs and continue living in the circus world with them with blissful ignorance.

Until their world inevitably dies when the computer breaks down for whatever reason.
I just got an even better idea.

Since they are stuck there, and have the powers to be able to change how their simulation is like, they can just remake the entire world to look like the real world as close as possible.

And erase their memories of having ever been stuck inside a simulated circus world and then create fake memories of their lives outside the circus based on what they saw on their social medias and then continue off in their simulated reality thinking that they are in the real world living the lives that they saw on social media.

Kinda sucks still, but at least they would be living in blissful ignorance not knowing their predicament.
That would be the closest thing to a happy ending for them if they will be unable to go back to the real world.

I know this is a shwab reference but your pfp just makes me read it in HIS voice

https://youtube.com/watch?v=6ke7edWIH7Iit's also the kind of shit he'd say to someone he's trying to pull some weird scheme on making them stand in a "computer" that's just like a cardboard box or some shit
I forgot to bring this up last night but after I had watched that clip I got jumpscared by something comically relevant

Imagine if this show was well written and the dogshit SOMA twist was revealed in like, episode 2, where Pomni just realizes "Wait a minute I've been here like a week and the building was clearly in a state of disrepair, so logically I should've starved to death. So I must just be a scan of myself." and then the rest of the circus all just reveals they figured that out themselves after a few days too. Or some shit.
At least that way you get the non-twist out of the way quickly enough and then you can maybe build to something actually interesting without stringing the watcher along in the hope something interesting is planned.

J.J mystery box writing was a mistake. Goose work stalled as much as possible to keep theory baiting people and try to shock people with "the twist".

He even lied when he said no one has guessed the ending or the twist. In reality the correct theory was the most popular day 1 theory.

I agree with you.

Instead of trying to keep a twist even Mattpat saw from a mile away, and a nothingbuger twist he could have had both his cake and eat it. Dealing with the the horror of dealing with not being real thought-out the show, and having the excuse to actually explore the characters backstories and feelings. Maybe even have the characters be in denial of the truth and still chase an exit to make it more tragic and milk it more.

Instead we have Kinger just telling them the truth, and then they move on after browsing the web. All for a twist that really shocked almost no one.

Ending isn't canon. Make your own.
Fuck it, here's my draft for the episode i made in 2 mins of thinking, without any writing knowledge or theory, just imitation of whatever i thought could be a movie like ending (or fun in a ttrpg at least).
Exploring the ruins and avoiding the abstracted, kinger finds a terminal
Finds that there is a release mechanism that can merge the non abstracted
Through internet he contacts himself and convinces him to "pull the plug"
He arrives at the office and tries to properly end the program but it's locked from the inside
The cast have to do dangerous adventure/action shit to disable some security
Jax maybe tries to fuck everything but fails
They have to get their real selfs to put on the headset before the pc explodes
Jax doesn't abstract but wants to get left there to die
maybe pomni gets his real self shows up and forcefully pulls him out
or he just dies kwab
Im sure this could at least be more fun to watch than what noose made

People are uploading the full thing with subs onto tiktok btw so that even the digitally illiterate zoomers/gen alphas have access to it. This one has been up for 6 hours and has 450 likes already.

Also no shit the tadc cast is at least 1/3-1/2 white if theyre living in a country thats 60% white, tf? Did that tumblr user except them all to be from the ghetto when all their va's are white/brown?

The fact Jax, a fan favorite, had to become a troon or troon allegory is so stupid. I hate I wasted any amount of time on this.

As far as this being a "Hazbin Hotel" killer like the thread title states, nah. Even Hazbin had higher quality production and a solid plot. TADC was nothing but a loosely formed idea stretched over several episodes without any actual point to make. TADC could be a 60-90min movie and make every plot point it wanted to in the series without bloat and still be a fat turd of a movie

Have you considered that she's black?
