New CAUCHEMAR album
Doom/Heavy Metal from Canada, kind of a mix of bands like Blood Ceremony, Jex Thoth, Pagan Altar, Heavy Lord, Pentagram, etc.

 
Sorry, brother. Never could get into that female fronted doom thing, even back when it was all over the place. Almost seems weird these days when you see one of those bands.

Got this LP yesterday. BM with lots of medieval sounding synth.

Soilwork is one of those bands that never really seems to get inventive with what they do. You could listen to any of their music, or you could just listen to the living infinite on repeat forever and get the same experience:

Clearly this is an entire genre

Not musically similar, but the artwork reminds me of the album the blackening by machine head. I rather like Halo, the use of pinch harmonics in the verse is pretty cool (I can't remember if this was posted somewhere already, but there's nothing more metal than not caring about basic due diligence):
 
On the fence about this new Rammstein album, but the opening song is definitely top notch and makes collective misery sound badass.

I have heard Cauchemar's older stuff, from Quebec- French Canada. Been subbed to that channel for a while- another chick fronted band from there, more like speed metal/ Acid (Belgium) sound from NYC.

This one is good, looks the guy puts out a shit ton of stuff too https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/The_Witch/721044 However I checked out a newer project and the drum sound is godawful.

Check out Siberian Black Metal band Grima. You might like their older albums more for the opposite reason (rawer sound) but this newer video is crazy.

I heard these two today. I guess I'm a sucker for these kinds of rhythmic sweeps. I'm not a huge fan of the Shadows Fall-esque vocals on the first, but still:

Speaking of Shadows Fall, in terms of metal lore the lead singer of All That Remains used to be in Shadows Fall, most well known for this track from Guitar Hero, until they had a falling out (edit: lol falling out).
I mostly find that interesting because he's been a catty little bitch about it ever since. I'm not sure how relevant All That Remains is anymore though.

The lead singer left in fucking 1998. Here's a song about it from 20 years later in 2018:
That second song is just one I liked from that album.

The new Lorna Shore song Sun//Eater that came out last week is a banger too. Kind of "coming back" to metal over the last year myself - not that I ever stopped liking it but making a primary interest - they have been my favorite active band.

The old stuff with Tom Barber is really good too and his new projects are great as well.

Maurizio Iacono from Kataklysm and Ex Deo started a new side project called Invictus. It's different from his usual stuff. I enjoyed The Immortal Wars a lot so I can't wait to hear what he does with his new album.
