I have no idea why the fuck Satsuki is saying that picking up cans is bad or insulting when you can easially make a small profit off of them. I don't know if down in America you have recycling machines that give you 5 cents per bottle or cans, but a lot of college kids here do it for quick and easy pocket money. If you have a friend or someone in your family who drinks soda as if it's their lifeline, you can easially make bank returning them to your local walmart or place that has the machines. Rummaging through people's recycling bins as well to collect cans and bottles is normal as well.

Hell, if you find the local/town's alcoholic and ask for his cases and cases of empty beer cans and bottles and return it, that's 20 cents per bottle/king sized can which adds up a lot.

Satsuki, if your reading this, go pick up cans/bottles you lazy fuck.

Most places you have either the city recycling service (which doesn't pay you) OR you can track down a self-recycling place. You get paid X-amount by the pound and not per can/bottle. I used to do that just to scrape together enough bus fare for work.

the difference between takashi and any normal person, or any lolcow and any normal person, is their inability to react properly. once they learn (if they learn) then they'll all live a happier life.

Damn that fucking sucks. Up here In Canada it's 5c per can/bottle and it depends on what the machine takes as it's different in each supermarket brand. But still, Going out to recycle and getting some pocket change from it is still something. Like if you can do nothing all day and are bored to hell, going outside and exercising and collecting bottles to get at least 5-10$ back is at least something positive.

Let me :powerlevel: for just a moment here to outline a situation for Satsuki: Say I want to move out of my family's shitty house or start paying off my student loan debt, right? To do that, one usually needs money. To get money I need a job. To get a job (even a shitty job like in fast food) I need a state ID, because that's literally a law in this state. To get a state ID I need to change my name. To change my name, I need $1500. To get $1500, I need a job. You see where I'm going with this.

Now that's a legitimately shitty Catch 22/"damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation until I figure out an alternate source of revenue. Satsuki, from what I understand, is not physically disabled. Her 'mental disability' is questionable at best, because this is Tumblr, the land of self-diagnosis, and I'm always gonna doubt such claims until proven otherwise.

Is her home situation shitty with her location being high-cost and having the mom pay for everything with just one crappy job and a younger sister with a physical disability? Sure, that seems likely. But unless Satsuki proves she literally cannot function in a real job (even a menial one) because of her 'mental illness', then she's just being fucking lazy, and I'm pretty sure even the disability folks are wise to her game, which is probably why they won't actually give her benefits.

And no. Camwhoring and e-begging are not legitimate alternate sources of revenue.

Yeah we have those machines here in America. And (sorry if this is powerlevel) but if that PayPal on her "nsfw blog" has her current location, I know the area she lives in really well and there are a LOT of grocery stores there that have those machines and SO many people do it, it's really common. So what gets me is that if she is so desperate for money that she'll be posting melodramatic e-begging posts all the time and offering to record "videos" of herself for money, she really shouldn't turn her nose up at collecting bottles.
There are maybe five people in my neighborhood alone who go rummaging through people's trash on garbage day to get cans and bottles for those redemption machines. A few of the people in my neighborhood are easily 80+ years old but they need the money, so they are out there twice a week, every week, for hours and get SO many bottles and cans, it's actually kinda impressive. I bet they make a really good amount of money in one month considering the amount they collect every week.
She really doesn't have an excuse other than thinking she's "above" that, though she clearly doesn't think she's above begging strangers for money on Tumblr. At least the people who go out to collect cans are making an effort instead of expecting handouts for sitting on the computer.
