Addendum to the addendum:

Their "solution" to the issue was to make being a "disabled" character on a wheelchair better than having a fully functional pair of legs. So besides their shitty attitude, their rules made no sense either in-universe or even rules-wise. A perfectly normal, portable wheelchair with no enchantments is somehow sturdier than a half-ton oak table!

Characters with some sort of disadvantage to them can be extremely fun to play, but you have to approach them with a creative attitude, and knowing that some issues won't be easily fixed or bypassed and you'll just have to deal with them. That's half the fun of playing a guy with just one leg, or whatever you're doing. It's the satisfaction of making it work in hard mode. But these preachy idiots can't be assed to be creative, or to face a challenge. They just want their "flaws" to be waived so they can say they're playing a character with some sort of problem, yet face no hardship for it.

They're the D&D version of the Vampire player who plays a trickster Ravnos, attempts to cheat, lie and steal from every sentient entity they meet, and then throws a hissy fit and bitches for weeks when the consequences of their characters' actions catch up to them.
Seriously, the combat wheelchair does damage on par with some of the better weapons you can get, can hover on stairs casually (but somehow magically can't be done if on a level floor), can be mentally linked to its user, is bedecked in un-dispellable magic stones that give them that hover feature, and needs to be critted three times to not be usable in combat, and nine times to be utterly broken.

For 100 GP.

But remember, this is all fair and you hate cripples if you don't accept this.

Yeah we are fine with a combat wheelchair this bullshit, but that is more reserved for a mad artificer turning his wheelchair into a mobile weapons platform. An artificer that is likely more than 6th level before mounting rapid fire magic missile launchers and missile batteries and jet thrusters for speed boost.

You know what the best example of a cripple in a wheelchair who is badass despite all of that is? Professor Charles Xavier. A perfectly normal wheelchair without a single special ability, used by a man who refuses to let the fact he's a cripple or even a mutant define him. He is Professor Charles Xavier, leader of the X-Men and headmaster of the Charles Xavier School for Gifted Students, and if you try to force him to be anything else he'll mind-rape you so hard your brains will shoot out your ears at the speed of sound.

Thankfully, he's a NPC and a quest giver.

Or, alternatively, a boss fight.

True, but even though he's an Epic Level Psion in a wheelchair he still doesn't let the fact he's an Epic Level Psion in a wheelchair be his only defining character trait.

I once played a blind necromancer who used a mixture of spells to animate his 'magic' staff and see through the skull on the top. He suffered a penalty to dex/some sight stuff since his field of vision was a little off but if you don't want to have any setbacks why the fuck bother?

They didn't even use the actual generation the manchildren from years ago love; they used the generation they apparently hated.

Speaking of out of touch, here's the take on the combat wheelchair that was talked about a while back:
https://youtube.com/watch?v=v4piRgS2_1E
It gets pretty dumb; why even have the disabled person when you can just use the mind link to flank with a bunch of wheelchairs?
If the chair is that resistant to damage, why wouldn't someone just grab the cripple in question and use them as mobile cover?

Why even have a cripple when you can each have this fucking thing, mentally link it with the rune system attached to it, and then just plow down the entire campaign yourself?

The person in the chair is pointless; the combat fucking wheelchair does more than they do.

The issue we really had was the author was very combative, insecure, and made an extremely broken pile of shit wondrous item for really cheap. Honestly, a disabled character can be fun.

Just imagine a caster being carried by the barbarian in a Master Blaster style set up for example. Or the old man who constantly is lost in dementia. Can be fun.
I had a character in a Deadlands game that couldn't grow up past the age of a baby, yet he was the smartest person in the group. Good luck doing anything though.

So a startlingly accurate depiction of how the Twitterati look at people as a whole then? The person doesn't matter, only the disability/skin color/sex matters.

My group got our weekly games going again after a long break in November when half the players got the coof, and wow it feels good to be playing again.

It's the paradox of woke culture.
They objectify women by reducing them down to a label and tell them what to do, what to think and how to act much more strictly than any chauvinist does.
They tell you skin color doesn't matter while reducing everything to skin color - so much so, they don't even treat people of the same skin color but from different parts of the world as individuals bbut rather like interchangeable automatons. They literally eradicate any cultural identity of anyone, while bitching about cultural appropriation. To them, all native americans are the same "noble savage" stereotype of some whimsical mega-tribe that lived in peace until wypipo introduced them to the concept of violence.
And just to add insult to injury, they treat absolutely no one they pretend to care about with the most basic amount of respect: ie, treating them as reasonable, responsible human beings.
When some muslim goes murdercrazy and kills someone over a mohammad carricature, their reaction always boils down to "Well, he didn't know any better", similar with (gang) violence and crime amongst latinos and blacks. Just think about how messed up that attitude really is, it treats people like brain-damaged morons while claiming to support them.

Here's something that also amuses me quite a lot:
In order for a person to claim to be "non-binary", "inter" or any one of the dozens of similar samey terms for being a genderspecial mix of male and female attributes can only work when you assume the existence of incredibly strict gender stereotypes, however by its very nature, these terms are only used by people who say there is no difference between genders.

I've started to rearrange and organize my RPG pdfs slowly (finally). It's going to be a long time as there's tens of thousands of books and many of which I have to check to see which systems they belong to as some just don't say on the cover. As well as rename files. I also have to check on which maps go with which books, and check doubles and see which has the better quality. Right now just going through OGL, D&D, Pathfinder WoD, NWoD, and 2d20 books. Once everything is done I want to make a list of all of the books I don't have and see about getting either physical copies or make requests on various request threads.

Along this journey I've been finding some books that would be good with any system and some 5th Edition books that would go well with 1st Edition Pathfinder. There's also a horror sci-fi game I need to go through.

I also have a book called Black Power: THe Superhero Gamebook - Saifu Saves the World. Front art has a black woman fighting off a massive mutant cop. No artwork inside and the whole thing looks to be done in size 14 font.
Dedication inside
I dedicate this book to all the Black youth, who still have wonder, imagination and a desire to be
superheroes in their hearts and minds. I also dedicate this to the Black youth robbed of that same
wonder, imagination and desire. It is because of each of you that I write.

I can't wait to read what this sort of mess is like.

I've also came across a game using "mobile suits" similar to Gundam. The book even has blueprints in it to make your own using lego and teaches you the design process of making mecha with lego.

Not even kidding, that sounds cool as hell. Do they have rules for locational damage and blowing off limbs on the mobile suits?

Sounds like the library of Alexandria for nerds. I love it.

I only just went through the build sheets. I'll check later.
Basically it's less advance forms of these. There's also rules on ships.
Just going through some rules now. Looks like it's a skirmish game similar to Kill Team. There's rules for different missions. Things like cover (anything higher than 3 bricks high as their designs are small). Rules for systems and how many you can take, including it different armour types.

It's all very basic but very easy to build on (no pun intended).

Combat looks real easy. Lots of descriptions for events in combat.

The talk of interesting builds with disability make me want to revisit an older, more basic idea I had for an amputee Barbarian who - instead of taking the pussy healing magic to grow his limb back - instead capped off the stump and got an axehead or two in place of a hand.

A dumb pun no doubt, but I'm willing to bite the inability to use a two handed weapon ( since most of my DMs build around creative party setups rather than stress optimization ) to try and think of a Barbarian Rogue that can bounce around and show monsters the karate chop he learned off a monk once. Maybe Javelins or Throwing Axes in the offhand. Plus it'd make for a great icebreaker in interactions; if you got an axe for an arm, people would wanna know what the fuck happened.

Maybe pair that with some cooking proficiency for roleplaying a utilitarian interest into the art of butchery and monster cuisine! Just gotta think more on what system it'd work best with and what paths...

The weekly meeting of the Shattered Hand Clan is this way.

All joking aside, if you can wrangle some interesting rules about it, it should be a cool concept to play with. The stump would need some sort of removable attachment system for the blade (or maybe just a sheath) so you can avoid poking things by accident while you're sleeping, but besides the usual issues with having only one hand it's pretty workable.

Although instead of an axe head, I'd suggest a stabby blade with slashing potential, like a long push dagger or a katar. It's generally a lot easier to punch than to chop, and since it doesn't have a handle and it's attached to the forearm, you wouldn't have much leverage for slashing-hacking with in the first place. Depending on how the stump was capped (if the bones in the forearm can still rotate), you could even use it as a knife for more delicate operations. Just make sure you wash your stab-hand thoroughly before you use it to cut food while in camp! You don't want any bits of zombie touching the steak, or the cleric will have to spend a while casting remove disease spells on the party!

Great icebreaker at parties, too!
