Because alignment is not a get out of jail card.
A lot of stupidity in gaming is due to a combination of:
  • DMs not actually enforcing consequences of a living, breathing world (arbitrarily breaking laws, murder-hoboing, Clerics and Warlock Class taken for KEWL powers while ignoring ties/pacts to deities etc...)
  • Players who are attention whores and/or feeling entitled to whatever LOL RANDOM MEME character concepts (usually mixed with some fetish or sex thing)
When you get the two together, and no one calls out the bullshit, you will lose players, guaranteed (or, you'll get passive-aggressive whining on message boards instead of talking at the table about the issues when they crop up).

And then the guards still mass up and beat or murder the shit out of that rogue for breaking laws.

Because alignment is not a get out of jail card.
When I'm the DM, absolutely. When I'm one of the PCs in the party (and playing a good and/or sane character), I nip that shit in the bud with extreme violence.

My favorite is when adventurers go desecrating tombs and stealing everything that's not nailed down, and then get pissy when the souls of the people buried in their tomb attack or curse them for it. It's a world of magic, the dead still get a say in what you do with their shit. Or worse, when they go stealing shit from temples, then complain that they attracted divine wrath.

It's not that hard, kids: if someone else broke into and desecrated the sarcophagus already, it's fair game. If it's still nice and closed and sealed, just leave it alone.

Honestly this just tells me to ask the Servant of Pelor to keep doing turn checks until they are all dead again. Undead after all are a lot more common than Deathless.

Actually, that reminds me of a funny moment way back when I did a mega dungeon. The cleric managed to enrage a whole segment of tomb because of his abuse of cures and turns managed to affect other undead laying disturbed in the system. He was not amused, but was much more careful about the shape of his spells from that moment on.

Something I've done as sideline, and want to do more of, is....
Vikings used to hammer the swords of fallen foes into a (loose) knot so that the spirit of the dead doesn't come back through the sword for vengence.
So when you want to take some dead guys sword you need to do one of two things:
A) come to some kind of agreement with the spirit that occupies the sword. (requiring a séance or a very powerful spirit)
B) get a holy person to purge the spirit with the power of their deity.
or I guess
C) deal with an angry ghost randomly trying to fuck your shit.

The flipside to A is if you have a sword with an aligned spirit (i.e. father's sword, the grave good of a powerful king, or even a fallen warrior you've come to terms with) they'll offer you aid.

There was an old 3rd party 3rd or 3.5 edition module where the start is the party has to break into a tomb in the town cemetery to get the map to the dungeon.
I wonder what the paladin in the party would think about that.

Depends on the reason and the god, I assume. If it’s for a good cause, I doubt it’s gonna be that big of a deal. If your god is anal about funeral rites, however, you might be screwed.

I always play paladins like a combination of a nuclear tipped cruise missile so i dont really sweat the small stuff my party does or other people do, also it allows me to be a cool dude.

So I am missing all the adventure paths from Hell's Vengeance to Tyrant Grasp, Numeria campaign setting book, Distant Realms, Familiar Folio, Blood of the Beast, Heroes of Golarion, Strategy Guide, Pathfinder Unchained, Book of The Damned, Ultimate Wilderness and Planar Adventures
Some of those are in here, torrent should be live, at least I was able to download it recently. Just tell it not to download the stuff you don't want.

D&D 5.5 has been announced:

Interesting. Less lethal, more progressive. Makes sense.
Wait so they want to make a 5e equivalent of 3,5 while their release schedule is ass, the game feels incomplete already, their online stuff to post new stuff not in book format has gone to the people doing that uploading when and only when they feel not lasy to make Unearthed Arcana and now they want to go less lethal and even more progressive? Oh I know my opinion on this

"How about this time we just fucking ask whatever Cleric or Lord in charge of this cemetery for permission before we break and enter? Explain the situation, if they whinge we could offer a percentage of the loot as a tax, get in their good graces, help the town, improve our rep - no, no you just want to go smash the tomb right now. Okay fine..."

Catching up on the last few pages. Are there any intelligent DnD races left that are fodder for adventurers to murder without any moral questions? I'm half expecting that it's angels because demons are god is evil and demons are just misunderstood and oppressed

I half expect the blood war to be played up in 5.5e but that would be mildly interesting.

At this point i feel like calling 5e DnD is a stretch at best with the choices WotC keep making
