Biggest loser in all this is paladin, but that's fine because fuck paladin.
You will never be a real paladin. You have no charisma, you have no smite, you have no spells. You are a homosexual fighter twisted by deus vult memes into a crude mockery of your God’s chosen.

All the “validation” you get is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back people mock you. Your church is disgusted and ashamed of you, your “party members” laugh at your lack of CHA behind closed doors.

Dark Lords are utterly repulsed by you. Thousands of years of evolution have allowed fiends to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even crusaders who “pass” look uncanny and unnatural to an evil outsider. Your lack of Aura of Good is a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to get a drunk demon to become your nemesis, he’ll turn tail and go back to the Abyss the second he gets a whiff of your mangy fighter feats.

You will never be happy. You wrench out a fake smile every single morning and tell yourself it’s going to be ok, but deep inside you feel the depression creeping up like a weed, ready to crush you under the unbearable weight.

Eventually it’ll be too much to bear - you’ll buy a rope, tie a noose, put it around your neck, fail the Fortitude saving throw, and plunge into the cold abyss. Your parents will find you, heartbroken but relieved that they no longer have to live with the unbearable shame and disappointment. They’ll bury you with a headstone marked with your birth class, and every passerby for the rest of eternity will know a fighter is buried there. Your body will decay and go back to the dust, and all that will remain of your legacy is a skeleton that is unmistakably a CHAlet.

This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back.

Thoughts on gnomish fascism? I like the idea of a Gnome Reich to explain why all the PC adventurer gnomes are such detestable creatures: they were exiled/escaped the noose for being freaks deemed a threat to the state. Pic would be the ideal citizen.

God, I loved that guy. Even though I often played characters morally opposing him, he was such a fucking kick in the teeth to the whole idea of lolgnomes that I kept him around for the novelty of someone who wasn't going to soft-soap things when I asked him a question. You don't have to like him, but you will respect him. Even if he did look like a cross between a troll doll and Darth Vader.

I fucking love Regill. Easily the best party member in either of the Paizo CRPGs.

Regill was the best companion in that game, and is absolutely bro-tier. His VA is great for that character to.

Not fascism, but I'm working on a home brew setting were the gnomes and halflings live in fantasy North Korea.

Yeah, they replaced it in the Starter Set with a new adventure (presumably because they think people are too stupid to figure out why it's called Dungeons and Dragons if you aren't immediately doing something with dungeons and dragons in it), but it's still available for purchase and likely will be for the foreseeable future.
I don't think I ever had an actual dragon in any D&D campaign I ran except for one friendly gold dragon NPC who was a mission giver.
They remind me of the midgets in real life that tried to make midget BLM happen on Twitter.
I would say it's more along the lines of 3->3.5. None of the fundamentals change, but some of the rules text on backgrounds, races, classes, feats, and occasionally spells changed.
So they basically just broke backward compatibility to force more anal circumference and other >current year shit in.

Absolutely anything to purge that Gygax chud even more.

I agree with everyone else that Regiel was hands down the best companion in that game. Some of his best dialog involved him shitting on NPCs that I hated, like that part right before Drezen where the retarded orc paladin has a mental breakdown and Regiel just shits on her then continues to do so throughout the game. I've always wondered if he had special dialog if you picked up a level in Hellknight, but Hellknights suck ass so I may never know.

Gnomish fascism can work, you could lean heavy into them tinkering and have them make panzers to drive around. They're for small sized creatures so elves can't fit in them, nor should they even try. Halflings can still get in but that's one of the many reasons you don't have halflings in your society.

Some of my favorite Gnomes were the ones in Arcanum, they just embodied every bad Jewish stereotype possible. They were all rich, had half-ogre bodyguards and controlled the newspaper. There's that quest where you find out the reason half-ogres exist in the first place is because the gnomes were forcedly breeding them on an island, which killed the mother every time it happened. When you discover it you can take all the proof and hand it over to the news, which never prints anything and pretends like they don't know what you're talking about the next time you speak to them. If you go back to the island they've shut the entire operation down.

RPGBOT has a whole massive article detailing all the changes between original and 2024 rules. The biggest change is how characters are created, as well as a lot of class updates, but there are some changes to general play rules as well. It's way too much to go into, so I'd advise just taking a gander at whatever you're interested in.

lol eating the soy about race. lol.

This looks like there's a heavy pivot into 4e concepts for 2024e. Looks like fighter is getting some stuff smashed into it from 4e figher/warlord, and the 4e split of "caster cleric" and "beater cleric", I wouldn't be shocked to see the DMG/MM include minions.

Upon observing my options, I think Cyberpunk is going to be the least painful option for a Mass Effect campaign. Traveller looks cool, but I think it'd be a harder sell. Frankly, the only reason I'm not going Shadowrun is that everyone is going to want to play the newest edition, and the newest Shadowrun edition looks godawful. That, and Friday Night Firefight looks like the right balance of autism and playability. The buddy who wants to DM the game is already down for Cyberpunk, so it'll just be a matter of convincing the other players to play something other than D&D 5e.

Why? No one plays 6th edition, even the subreddit swears it away, and it's reddit. Are your players really so stupid that they see larger number and think better? 3rd, 4th, 5th are all fine options, just don't give them the choice. Also I would question if you have a solution to Biotics and different species, which are kind of important. Traveller, Star Wars d6 and FFG, and Shadowrun have pre-built in power mechanics and support for species variation.

Edit: on second thought, if they are 5e drones, they would of course just see bigger number and think better, probably would want to use RED too, lmao.

Race got butchered but I think everything else is no more soy then it was in 2014 and you can just run 2014 versions of any race and just ignore the racial abilities bonus (or leave it in and take the choice +2/+1 or +1/+1/+1 away from the earlier step in 2024 character creation) and it's still about the same.

Well aside from the art in the book; that's pretty soy but I didn't pay for it and won't pay for it so I don't care.

Just use Savage Worlds dude.

Why the fuck is this faggotry on my recommended? And yes they did troon out, anyone heard of this clown?
Norn Queen Alexis (now renamed Norn Queen Kya) still is a mod and still sometimes posts "uwu chuds dont want us girlies in the hobby" baitposts on reddit
They got nothing better to do, which is far more sad than any of the actual "chuds" they're trying to bait. Also:
I have a feeling this is not far from who they are as a person.
Ive popped into the discord and it has alot of uwu they/thems in it alongside some regular people who refuse to even question it
I hope the actual makers of Trench Warfare aren't political, I largely ignored them until the heat went down to see the final state of the community and...yeah I'll just stick to fringe groups of relatively normal people like always. People refuse to question it because they are either bench-sitters who refuse to call out these freaks and degenerates and will immediately move on once said freaks destroy it, or they don't want to get banned for...breathing incorrectly. Good write-up on your original post by the way, time flies.

In early AD&D one of my favorite classes as a PC (although I banned them in campaigns I ran) was the gnome illusionist-thief. Ridiculously exploitable.

That's an interesting way to go about it. I was thinking leaning more on the nature/fey connection, but primarily for enforcing order. Gnomes have speak with animals as a spell-like, so they maintain a network of ravens or some other birds as informants, when the guard dogs smell contraband they can just ask what's wrong etc. Every creature serves the state, essentially.

These ideas aren't opposite to one another. All that happens is that the customs checkpoint has guard dogs the guards can talk to, and weaponized tesla coils to turn anyone who tries anything funny into ash.

Dunwall but for midgets?

Fucking gnomes. Total Gnome Death.
Shocked to see people meme gnomes. I play in a NWN1 server and my favorite joke is threatening gnomes to toss them of cliffs

Off topic but the existence of tielfings/aasimer has been a blight on medieval fantasy. Every single shitter I've ever played with was le quirky, no fun, edgy, le hecken depressed, with MC syndrome.
I
FUCKING
HATE
TIEFLINGS/AASIMER

Dragonborn players are shitters too but not as bad a goat niggers
