I'm all in for smash becoming the America of game crossovers. (As in different companies let their best join in on this video game melting pot.) So of course there will be the 1st party poopers that like just Nintendo characters in it. And we will continue to ignore them all.

At least I am completely willing to admit Captain N as a TV series was terrible, I just think it would be cool to have The Guy in Smash given that it is a gigantic crossover series, like Captain N was.

No More Heroes was a grindy abortion that never should have made it to shelves, much less got a sequel.
 
Honestly think Sans would make a more interesting Smash fighter than Terry. Emphasis on Smash. Ryu already has that "actual fighting game character mixed with Smash mechanics" thing bolted and there's two of him. But eh, whatever, I'm just a casual player anyways. Still neat to have an SNK rep. Even if I'd rather have somebody from Metal Slug.

No More Heroes has a demand and an audience. One of Suda's goals with Travis Strikes Again was to raise enough money for NMH 3's development and he got it.

It would be awesome if Travis got into Smash. I don't think his personality would be a point to count him out since Smash already has representations from rated M titles. Also, his inclusion would be awesome because of the spectacular music:

No More Heroes is the same game that opens with Travis jumping off a motorcycle, slicing some dudes' heads off and yelling "FUCKHEADS!" There are many words to describe NMH but pretentious isn't one of them.

NMH2 had that weird sections where Sylvia rambles into a phone, but that's intentionally meant to be pretentious and nonsensical and isn't representative of a game where you save by using a toilet.

I love Spiral Mountain stage. Very unique. Banjo may look basic but he's pretty rad to play as.

If Sans made it in, then my nigga The DooM Slayer better too and not just as some Mii Skin.

I wanted to play the new one for switch but I don't like the top down viewpoint.

Is the first one going to be rereleased or perhaps will the next one go back to the regular camera angle?

And from a lore standpoint it makes sense sans is too lazy to actually fight in smash. The most he'll do is be a costume and fight like a mii.

I have seen a running joke online that Sans just hires some guy to dress as him and fight.

People are acting like he's really in the game yet literally what was shown is a Mii Custom and a remix of Megalovania. It's being teased but I'm personally looking forward to Terry Bogard more.
